Seems obvious this was a farce when you take the smallest step back.

In principle, I completely agree.
But. And it is a massive massive but. Assuming United are worth say £1bn, how is it going to be even remotely possible for the supporters to come up with £501millions.
Unfortunately, it is a pipe dream.
I’m sure the Govt could stipulate shares must be sold to fans over a period of 5-10 years or something. Or the govt could lend the money with a repayment plan over a period of time.

When the dust settles all the foreign owners need to go, they need to adopt the German 50+1 rule.

The BBC are reporting Chelsea decided to withdraw before the fan protests.

It might be more down to the UK government's stance and just general backlash in the UK.

It's quite something that the Uefa president was calling for England's sporting culture to help sort this out this morning.
Abramovich thinking a couple of steps ahead here, it is absolutely not in his interest to create problems with the UK government.

United is worth $4.2 bn alone, are you talking about all British clubs or just United - could be a rather big loan considering they are borrowing frantically to cover Covid and Brexit.

Back in the real world...
