Top four is the only target for me heading into next season and that’s with the assumption we do some reasonable transfer business. One step at a time. Cups are a lottery - no expectations with them.

A team that is enjoyable to watch, and finishes in the top 4.

Given the state we are in at the moment, that would be a big step up,
and then we can build from there.

Its a long way from the expectations I had not that long ago, but that's where we are now.
Seen it all before, old enough to remember relegation, but United's resources mean they
should always be in a position to push for the top.

I would hope for more, but I think that's achievable and the minimum I would expect by
the end of next season.

If United don't provide Ole with the support to make that possible, then it would show
they do not care about the results on the pitch.

I want to see us moving in the right direction. Don't really care where we finish as long as we're not relegated. Happy to wait until we are rebuilt to start challenging and winning stuff.

Honestly, the state of the club now and the huge rebuild needed, I think finishing 6th will be difficult next season.

We’re hardly going to sign the next Van Dijk or Hazard either are we, with how poor our recruitment is.

Anything below 4th and he’ll be sacked though

Minimum has to be Champions League qualification so either top 4 and/or Europa League and a clear style of play that can evolve and improve. Implement new signings that make a positive difference and clear the dross. He does that and he's earned the job for another season where it will be improve on the style, implement more new signings and young players that make a positive difference and clear the last of the dross.

If we are 5th and don't win Europa next season then I think we've got to go all out for Pochettino (if he'd fancy it) or Tuchel (if PSG have fired him).

I would love to revisit this thread in January considering some are expecting him to be gone by then. I still think he could be the answer for us finally getting some stability.

My expectations are not just the result this time. I would be extremely happy if he stops playing half of the deadwoods and have a proper and clear style of play. Results will follow.

Progress would be nice. I’d love to say top 4 obviously but I just don’t know anymore. There are teams around us down as far as Leicester that might even come close to us. We’re only 9 points ahead of Wolves this season!

Depends on the summer recruitment. Have to be honest and say i'm not feeling optimistic, we know certain players will still be here and we'll be having the same arguments about them next year that we had this season (and the season before that, and the one before that and the one before etc etc)

Top four should be the aim. I don't think City or Liverpool will let their standards drop, I expect Spurs to consolidate 3rd place with some new players, I guess some of it depends on how Chelsea and Arsenal go about their business or if the likes of Wolves, Everton, Leicester massively improve for a top 4 challenge.

Top 4 and an established playing style that favours attacking football.

Battle with Wolves, Leceister etc to make top 6. I'd be very surprised if we do better then that.

We arn't gonna win any trophies so next season no matter who is the manager so my minimum expectations are:
  • Good attacking football that is fun to watch
  • Improvement in out young players
  • Signs that their is a better attitude in the squad
  • Good long term signings.
  • Over all feeling that we are at least starting to go in the right direction
If this is the general feeling throughout next year then then i will be satisfied, league position, champions league qualification will be somthing that would come into play in the 20/21 season if Ole is still here.

What would not be acceptable is:
  • If the football continues to be defensive and disjointed.
  • Bad short term or bad attitude signings
  • Continued issues with the attitude of the squad
  • A general feeling that we arn't moving forward

Good playing style, fit players and some improvement from the younger core talents in the squad, that's it. Finishing 3rd or 6th isn't as big a deal.

Top four and being able to put out a team of players who 1) want to be here and 2) don't turn fan stomachs.

Expect us to adopt a similar style to how Liverpool played during his first full season at Liverpool. High intensity, pressing.
Small chance at the fourth spot in the league and potentially winning EL, with Liverpool, City and Tottenham being far ahead in PL. (Dependent on what happens at Chelsea and Arsenal)
Squad: Remove some of the unprofessionals and hopefully sell some of the 17/18 players that are not suited to the modern game(high press and possession).

A top 4 finish should be the target. Dont put pressure to win it, we wont!! We need time, ole needs time, stick by our manager for a change.

What do i expect? More of greenwood, tanzebe, mctominay. Why not? What ever happened to promoting players from our academy. Give rashford his chance to establish himself as a world class player. Get rid of poor performers. Get rid of players who want to leave, pit faith in players who would relish the opportunity of playing for united, players who’d give it their best week in week out. That’ls what id expect.

I think he will be gone before the season ends, we will never really challenge for the title and will end up struggling for top 4, finishing in either 5th or 6th.

United have only managed to get into the Top 4 twice in the last 6 years!

If Ole can get Top 4 next season while getting the team to perform consistently and with a defined style, then he has done a fantastic job...and should be given more funds and another year to repeat it.

Back to back Top 4 finishes would be amazing considering where the club is at now.

Bollocking about fluently.
I expect to see young talented and hungry players proud to represent our team given the chance showing signs of progression as the season goes by while also giving it their all every game and securing us a decent position within or at least within striking range of the top four. If they manage that I'll be happy and hopeful in regards to where we're headed.

Top 4, Europa League Run, Invest In Youth + Develop Our Own, establish a style of play that we can build around for the future.

1. Restore some pride to the club and make all our players know it's a privilege to play for us
2. Root out the bad apples in the dressing room and be ruthless in doing so
3. Promote youth
4. Sign a handful of exciting young players and successfully integrate them into the team
5. Establish a clear style of play, ideally fast, exciting, attacking football
6. Put in place a strong platform to build on in 2020/21 - results next season are fairly irrelevant right now as we're miles away from being a top team.
100% agreed. I'd also add to give the club a clearer strategy from top to bottom...ie our youth team have to play with the same philosophy as the first team, and our signings have to suit our proposed style as well, rather than being just a big name.

I've tried to do some brief research on what Ole's style of play actually is (or what he would like it to be), and came across a video I'm not allowed to post (newbie rules).

Search "TIFO Ole Gunner Tactics" and you'll find it. Note the video was posted about a month ago, pre-capitulation.

I'm interested to know on what you lot think about Ole's ambitions on how he wants us to play.

Top 4 with good attacking football and relative progress throughout the season and I'd take it.

However, I expect us to finish 6th again.

Getting some young, fit and pacy players in. Play entertaining football. Not too bothered where we finish in the league as there is no overnight fix to this mess. Get players in that can develop and build on that for the following season. Written off next season already, but we may have to take a step back in order to improve, as long as the quality of football improves it’s ok by me.

Always expect us to compete for the title but realistically I reckon we will finish outside the top four again but have decent cup runs, Europa League shouldn't really be laughed at either as it might be our ticket back into the Champions Leauge.

With Ole or any other manager I expect we will finish between 5th and 8th. We won't upgrade the first XI enough in the summer.

I hope by the end of the season we are showing progress and things don't look as bleak as they do now.
