Lewis with his new contract, not sure about the Bottas angle from him, maybe he is just looking out for a team mate?
I dont buy in to the, he does not want another good driver with him , far from it I think he would welcome it.
I get the , he did not like another driver in his car, I would be the same.
My feeling is that Bottas will not be at Merc next season and his team mate will be Russel.
Bottas is a known quantity that Lewis can beat on most race weekends. Russell would be a unknown as he'd be eager to prove himself and want to push lewis, probably. Lewis has enough on his plate to fight max this year and possibly leclerc next year without having to worry about a new teammate who wont be a compliant no2.

Remains to be seen, but if lewis insists on bottas I'd be suprised if Mercedes didn't listen. They have a good healthy relationship unlike lewis had with nico rosberg.

Aston Martin have signed Red Bull's Head of Aero Dan Fallows to become Technical Director. Significant appointment & a hire no doubt influenced by Vettel.

Think Red bull will be using Perez for rest of the season to help Verstappan. Whilst merc still support Bottas.
Perez will be made to stretch out 1st stints on tyres so merc can't 2 stop and overtake Verstappan with Hamilton. Unfortunately, Bottas still spouts nonsense than he can win championship instead of supporting Hamilton. And the fact Bottas destroys tyres means he won't be helping Hamilton from a Verstappan 2 stop.

Yep, utter class.

Blokes a fecking twat and you still need more evidence why people dont like him?
Just seen this

Considering Lewis just lost a race through no fault of his own in a very tight title fight, he was EXTREMELY composed there

What a crazy post.

could be a wet every session this weekend :D
Please be a wet race usually makes it so much more exciting

Hamilton is negotiating a new deal with Mercedes. Wants Bottas to stay on as his teammate.
Urgh Please no more boring Bottas. Want to see what Russell can do in it. Wonder if Hamilton is a bit threatened by what Russell could do, whereas he knows he's lightyears ahead of Bottas

Truth like rain don't give a feck who it falls on.
I doubt there's any truth to being scared of Russell. Mercedes are losing to Red Bull in the constructors. If the team loses confidence in Bottas then there's 0 chance that they accept not winning in order to make Hamilton happy. The team winning the constructors trophy comes before the drivers wish to win the drivers championship.

Not really so much being scared of Russell but it wouldnt definitely hurt Lewis' title chances having Russell as a team mate rather than Bottas. Purely in terms of which of the two is more likely to take points off of Lewis in a season.

Theres more to a teammate then just race craft. Its also how he works with the team off the track, hus feedback and input into the car. His relationship with the other driver. If lewis is happy with the harmony in the team, the feedback bottas provides then why change it?

Same about the 3 place grid drop, not what lewis needs. Needs bottas up there with him.

I know Lewis dreads the idea of going back to having a competitive teammate, but Bottas sure is making it hard for Merc to keep him. Getting a grid penalty before qualifying even takes place is an impressive start to his weekend.

Bottas needs to step up if he hopes to impress the Williams bosses!

Watching the spin by Bottas, OK you dont want to see a car spin in the pit lane, but 3 place grid drop , I think its harsh.
Cars have hit mechanics before and nothing happened , both equally dangerous.
True. It is a harsh punishment.

But unless there is some issue with the pit lane surface, how is it only Bottas who manages to make this mistake.

Or hitting a mechanic should also be punishment. That’s more reasonable in my opinion.

From what I saw, just he hit the painted part and lost may have been a tad damp , cold tyres.
3 place grid drop and 2 penalty points, points OK.
Sky mixed about it, some say harsh some say its not, reason being crew were in the pit lane, bit crew are always in the pit lane.

I think it's when you total up the cumulative number of errors Bottas has made in his Mercedes career you begin to see he is just nowhere near top level.

So who do we think will be taking Bottas seat next season ?

Russell the most likely candidate IMO, Lando would be a serious contender in that car but he’s obviously just signed a new deal, any other names ?
