To be fair, I think Brawn acknowledges that they have got a lot wrong with the format and some of the quotes in the article go some ay to improving the idea.



Removing the idea of the sprint race being for position in the main race and even reverse-grid in the long term would make it more sustainable. My main problem with it was how it affected the main race - it should be an event on its own.

Doing a sprint race with the reverse grid from the seasons standings would be amazing. (Could use average qualification position for ties.) No-one would want to game that and it would mean chances for the smaller teams of points and lots of action of the big names overtaking their way forwards from the back.

Exactly, show them that maybe they too can grow up to become rich and famous and shelter all their money overseas to avoid paying taxes in their own country.

They should leave qualifying alone - the standard 3 session format is perfect.

If they wanted to do gimmicks, a better way would be to give 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 points for 'qualifying', then start every race as reverse grid.

That used to be how it worked.

Longest continuous donuts before suffering a blowout gets 5 bonus points.

I can understand why practice and qualifications quote times.
But wouldn't it also be interesting to also translate these into how many metres a car is behind the leader, or the car in front?

Yes it would be , but would it not be time consuming to do it for every car ?
I can see you point.
It should not be time consuming as knowing the length of the circuit and the lap times, should be pretty simple.
Just another bit of interesting information.

Does anyone have the F1 2021 ps5 game?

Bought it so me and bf could play split screen. Is it just me or does the Mercedes seem to be really slow off the line? I'm not sure if it's me using max downforce but when I used the Red Bull, and in an online game, I did well as was starting to think it was just me!

I just wish the race was on today but Quali will have to do. It was at an ideal time after the Liverpool game, but today I have to live with the City result longer.

worst part is f1 will soon end and we wll have no respite after humiliating defeats every weekend :(

What time (GMT) is quali today?
8pm. Race tomorrow at 7pm. I expect a RB lockout of front row for qually and a very easy max victory tomorrow. This is Mercedes weakest track on the calender due to the altitude and how it affects the car and the engine.
