Well congrats to Max again, aside from interviews he was pretty much faultless this season, and at the end of the day he's a driver not a spokesperson. RB/Max domination freed F1 from any really consequential difficult decision to make, which is for the better too.

Let's hope someone can catch up to them next year.

yeah easier to live in that world than just call max a knob for not helping him out in a nothing race.
Said it was a dick move at the time, but it wouldnt have changed the end result because Sergio wasnt good enough. Second best driver on the grid this season deservedly gets second place.

Fantastic drive from Leclerc! Not that 2nd place really means anything but the way it went down with Perez chasing him made it pretty exciting.

Wouldn't have mattered in the end anyway with this result. Perez simply not quick enough.

On another note, wonder if we'll find out whether Hamilton crashing over the curbs a few times fecked his hydraulics or if it wasn't related but I guess Mercedes won't be sharing those details with the rest of us.

Aside from his interviews, personality and teamwork, he was faultless. :)

Certainly a shame no other team made a competitive car this season.

Well his job no.1,2 and 3 is to be fast. And even I have to admit he was pretty good at it this year. Then again because of the end to last year I only watched 30%ish of it, so I might have missed something.

According to Horner the entire Red Bull team were focused on ensuring Checo got that runner up position in the championship, so perhaps not even slowing down is as close to teamwork as Max can actually get.

max was imperious this year. he had the fastest car but still blew everyone away. i think not allowing perez to finish ahead of him last race will come back and bite him next year. no way perez does anything at all to help him, he’ll even go as far as trying to screw him over if he can get away with it. he might be lucky enough to be in a car so far ahead of everyone else that it doesn’t matter, but if there’s competition and it’s tight he might regret a couple of nothing points from this year.

Checo should be second in this car with the problems Ferrari had, no excuses.

If it's tight between the top 3 teams, George and Carlos are capable of taking points off their team mates at every circuit. Checo is only capable of taking points off Max at the 3 street circuits. A nice advantage to have.

he’s also capable of slowing the other 4 drivers down at any circuit. i have a feeling he won’t be fighting too hard as clear number two driver unless he’s accepted all he’s there to do is give max every advantage possible. don’t get the impression that’s the case though.

Not only Leclerc did amazing driving in the end, he also opted for staying on the track when his pit told him Perez will catch him if he stay out. Basically story of his season, competing on the old tires vs much quicker Red Bull on newer tires. Hopefully Ferrari can make faster car next year so we can see Max vs Leclerc.

I don't think it will be much different to this year, considering Red Bull know how quicker Max is and they probably won't allow Checo doing anything stupid.

He doesn't need to deliberately try to slow anyone down. If he's in the marginally fastest car on the grid he'll slow them all down and take a bucket load of points away from them all without trying. Or do you think he'll let any silver or red car passed him and settle for 6th every race?

Of course. It helps that no other team could challenge the Red Bull.

They tailor their car design for Max to the detriment of the number 2 driver.

Nope, not a fan of either red bull or Mercedes, just thought it was pretty sad and ironic that you were accusing someone of being a fanboy when your one of the worst biased fanboys in this thread yourself.

No worries - I was really in to it there for the first half, but as usual, when the title is decided I lose pretty much all interest. Think I would have been top-10 but hadn't set my picks for ages.

Here's hoping McLaren make a competitive car next year, would love to see Lando win a race, this year's F1.5 champ.

Can you back that up with any of my posts? Theres a difference between a supporter and a fanboy. Take what happen in brasil between max and checo. Only a fanboy would defend max's behaviour.

I have praised max on more than one occasion this season. Wanted ferrari to do well so RB had some competition after mercedes cocked up the car design.

How does that make me a fanboy?

The max fanboys have been the worst, defending his actions in brasil.

You will have to wait till 2024-2025 season i think. Thats when their new wind tunnel will be available. They currently use a toyota wind tunnel and its no longer cutting edge for F1. Theres been discrepancies between the tunnel data and track data.

Anyway lando v piastri should be a rivalry frought with peril for both drivers F1 futures. If one comprehensively out performs the other. The loser will have some doors close on him for the future.

Lovely to see them include Vettel in the interviews at the end, I wonder what his plans are for his retirement

Well didn't wanted to respond to the original post since it wasn't worth it but if what are you describing is your definition you got it wrong.
Stupid from Lewis, even more stupid from Max at the end. Frustrating race in the end since it looked like for half of the race that Perez will build some gap in front of Leclerc and now he is behind.

I know but a guy can dream. I was cheering on Sainz this year but 2023 I think I'll expand that to the love of his life, Lando.

Don't think Max should've backed them up and he could give Leclerc DRS which can make things worse for Perez, too much and it could cause collisions or getting overtaken. It would be farcical to watch such things for second place anyway, glad to see Leclerc and Perez fight it out properly. Perez has had the car to be 50-70 points ahead of Leclerc.

No chance it would have worked, which is obviously why RB never even considered it. But seems there's a few dimwits around who think it could be another stick to beat Max with.

They cant comprehend the difference between Perez holding up a much faster car for a lap in AD21 and Max somehow dropping back 7 seconds to stop Charles, by giving him DRS on one of the most DRS powerful circuits on the calendar.

Nah I think ye are all as bad as each other to be honest, can't have a proper discussion in here so that's why I rarely post.

Agree with that and I am not too sure on Piastri. He could have a Vandoorne like season against Norris and that could be it. Especially after his antics with Alpine, I doubt he would have many takers

Watching Drive to survive from 2018, Checo was really an idiot back in a day. He was literally crashing into people for no reason during races, I haven't followed that period. Verstappen doesn't want to make him angry again.
