But maybe you will choose to continue trying to diminish the seriousness of what happened last season or anyone who talks about it, because you are "bored" with with it.

Can anyone explain me why Alonso and Piastri made this decision to leave Alpine? Have they been favouring Ocon?
Alonso wanted a longer contract than what Alpine offered, Alpine wanted to only give him a short contract to free up a future seat for Piastri. Why Piastri decided to leave I'm unsure, maybe not happy with being on the side lines for the past year, maybe offered more money by another team?
Typical Wolff. As if anybody is questioning whether porpoising is bad for the drivers. That's so obvious. But of course Wolff jumps to the conclusion that the FIA need to do something about it. Well actually, maybe they should. Maybe they should just measure the amount of porpoising for each car and disqualify the ones that go over the limit instead of implementing rules that would only benefit the team that is suffering from porpoising the most.
A quantifiable limit on it would seem sensible regardless of what other rule changes you make. Doesn't mean you shouldn't also consider whether there are ways you could change the design rules to make it less likely to be an issue - pretty shit for the spectacle if you were to regularly be disqualifying cars for it. It's not why people chuck hundreds or thousands of pounds in to get to the races to then see some of the teams sit on the sidelines.
I believe something long the lines of Apline were pretty sure they would sign alonso for a year - they would trigger the Piastri deal by securing him a race seat with Williams which would then also give them the option to bring him to alpine in 2024 when they thought alonso would leave
Piastris team believe this had to be triggered by 1st August and didnt fancy the wiliams seat as much as they fancied mclaren or alpha tauri and therefore they probably signed an agreement at the start of august - presumably with mclaren who didnt announce it because they have to resolve the ricciardo situation.

3 good drivers for 2 seats, couldn't make the hard decision so tried to delay it until they made their own choices.
Piastri wanted a seat last season but Alpine couldn't make it happen. This year they've struggled to find him a seat elsewhere assuming Ocon + Alonso were continuing.
meanwhile Alonso wanted a longer contract, but Alpine refused because of his age. Alonso decided to take a long term offer at AM.
Now Alpine have a space they've said "oh hey Piastri you can drive for us now", but he's like erm... got a deal elsewhere already lads. Cheers though!

Because Alpine have no real desire to get to the top of F1 and are happy to tread water. Ask yourself, why have both riccardo and Alonso walked away? Why does a rookie such as piastri not want to drive for them?
