FA Cup 3rd round | 9/1/26 - 12/1/26

Frank’s getting sacked this week

Frank as an interim manager punt? :wenger:

Lots of people (including me) wanted us to sack Amorim and appoint him. Ultimately a defensive coach who can set up a decent defensive block but don't really see much in the way of interesting tactical ideas on attack.

They were interested in Iraola before. I wonder if he would be tempted to go now given Bournemouth keep selling.

The market is weird though. Feels like there aren't many elite managers available that would go to clubs trying to do a Villa with Emery type thing.

For some reason Iraola feels the most likely move, to me.

It's difficult to see how Frank turns this around at Spurs. Really ordinary team and no credit in the bank with the fans

Murphy talking shite. You can't just pick and choose to give a yellow because of how early it is into a game.

I wanted him at Everton, thought he'd done really well at Brentford but then Andrews appears to be continuing where he left off. Perhaps it was just how the club is ala Brighton.
Yeah. Sometimes it is the recruitment and support in the background that makes a club run well, so changing manager is an irrelevance

Spurs next two games are West Ham at home and Burnley away.

If Frank survives today he needs four points from that. Minimum.

Spurs to me have a look of team who could just keep plummeting in second half of the season. Their squad is already much weaker than what started in January.

If they have any sense they need to sack him and use these two games to get them away from relegation.

Ryan Mason just been sacked as West Brom manager so could get him back as he seems to have morphed into their emergency caretaker during seasons.

If Man. United don't want to prize anyone away mid season I'm not quite sure what Spurs will come up with.

I've never understood the logic behind "letting the first one go".

I reckon you could watch any game that ends up out of hand, with players fouling, arguing and hounding the referee, and see a couple of blatant yellows ignored in the early minutes.

Surely you're far more likely to stamp your authority on a game if you make it immediately clear what won't be allowed, rather than giving players the idea that they've got some slack?

I’m so glad to be wrong about wanting Mathys Tel this time last year. He looks fecking useless.

He's the lad on loan from Palace, saw him in some other cup game a while back for pens, he looked absolutely tiny, looked like someone put a child in goal.

Supposed to be highly rated at Palace though.
Yup. Had a nightmare today, I'm sure he's better than he showed but 10 shots on target 10 goals tells a tale and our finishing wasn't exactly deadly. He just can't cover enough of the goal. Also I think it was Semenyo who just stood in fron of him for one of the goals and he put so much effort into trying to push Semenyo he fell over and never recovered.

I can't see anyone of that physique make it in the prem. Reminded me of Claudio Bravos struggles at City but without the crazy reflexes Bravo had.

Depends on the ref. Some look at the game and decide if there is nothing serious then they won't book anyone first 20-30 minutes to manage players/teams. Then it will be flurry of bookings in second half for similar fouls.

Other refs will just book from first five minutes but then will also let off players if they do another foul reasonably quickly.

Yeah, it makes no sense.

Sancho on? That's as good as a red card. Emptied my account on MGM (all of £7) on the Spurs win. Let's go.

Casemiro would have two yellows and a separate red card with the fouls Palhinha has committed in this game.
