FA Premier League - 02/12/25 to 04/12/25

Clear pen, bentacur was essentially man handling him

How are people confused why that's a penalty, he's holding onto a player and making no attempt on the ball.

Burn was clever. He went towards the ball, and for a good amount got his hands up to show he's not pulling back.
Bentacur just didn't let go

Bentancur has his arms stretched wide and Burn runs at him and falls over?

fecking mental when you consider how often that shit goes unchecked

That's never been a penalty. He had Bentancur in a headlock
Yeah it really does look like he initially holds burn but then burn just sort of headlocks him and doesn’t let him go as Bentancur is falling to the floor. They give that but there’s worse happening during every single game I think.

It's a bit soft, but Bentancur is a moron. At least look at the ball ONCE to make it seem as though you're trying to challenge for it

Ok end VAR, I’m on board with it now. These refs are ridiculously bad.

Because if there was any consistency with this, the penalty count would double, if not treble, in a world full of penalties already.

I'm cool with it... if consistency. Burn didn't appeal, because he knows where the consistency of this falls, and that's 90% of the time, not being a penalty.

They sold 3 out of their 4 defenders from last season and failed to bring in adequate replacements. They're lucky Iraola doesn't have them fighting relegation.
And their best player is likely leaving in January.
But Iraola should be doing better or something..

Yeah agreed, I think he’s doing a great job with what he has. Definitely improving what you’d expect to be a low level squad bar a couple of players.
