I was gonna say at the start of the season that playoff winning Sunderland would be ahead of Premier League Champions Liverpool at this stage of the season but forgot to post it.

Brighton and Villa play each other so a good chance to claim some points over them both who are above us.

Merino is that clutch player. Pops up so often with goals now. Great finisher too.
Brentford far too cautious. Full back out wide should have bombed forward to either receive the ball and whip it in or drag the defender out of position and dude on the ball whips it in (right after a corner too so the box is full).
He did neither, he passed and rather than give an option ran back into defence, gave the guy on the ball no options who already had no space to cross it back in. Might as well call it a day now if that's what they're being told to do.

That doesn't even qualify as a "six of one half a dozen of the other" type statement.
Nobody did anything foul worthy but the ref got scared because it was an important call.
