In 2018 I excitedly posted a thread called New Pakistan. I eagerly anticipated the emergence of a different Pakistan, as did millions of Pakistani's home and abroad. Our dream has turned into a nightmare.
In April 2022 Imran Khan was removed from power in a controversial vote of no confidence. At the time I and many like me who supported Imran Khan thought this was a new low - since then the country has sunk further and further. Pakistan is virtually bankrupt, it's a matter of weeks before there is no money to pay wages to civil servants. 70% of the population lives in provinces where there is no elected government, the constitution and supreme court are routinely ignored.
In this thread I shall be detailing the facist actions of the military of Pakistan who are now defacto in control of the country.
9th April 2022 - Vote of No confidence against Imran Khan. Prior to this vote Imran Khan had disolved the assemblies and announced new elections, but the Supreme court forced him to re-establish them and face the vote of no confidence. Oppositions MNA's were released from prison and returned from exile to attend the vote. Note the MP who was released from prison was later re-imprisoned by the military. 9th August 2022 - Former Special Assistant to the PM Shahbaz Gill was arrested for sedition. He was physically and sexually abused, he was tortured too during his time in custody

24th May 2022 - Freedom March 1 - Millions of Pakistanis protested across Pakistan and marched towards the capital Islamabad demanding elections. 13th October 2022 - PTI Senator Azam Swati was arrested, beaten and sexually abused. This was after he critisised the intelligence agencies for releasing a recording of him having sex with his wife. 23rd October 2022 - Journalist Arshad Sharif who was investigating corruption by the government and military was shot dead in Kenya. His documentary was released on Apple TV yesterday. 29th October 2022 - Freedom March 2 - millions of Pakistani's started protesting again demanding a date for elections. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2022_Azadi_March_II During this March there was an attempt to assasinate Imran Khan.

12th Jan 2023 - Punjab provincial assembly dissolved. The PTI led Punjab assembly was dissolved. An interim govt was put in place - the consitution demands fresh elections within 90 days - to this day a date for elections has not been announced.

18th Jan 2023 - KPK provincial assembly dissolved. The PTI led KPK assembly was dissolved. An interim govt was put in place - the consitution demands fresh elections within 90 days - to this day a date for elections has not been announced.

25th Feb 2023 - Key witness against former PTI MNA Usman Dar holds a press conference claiming he was arrested, tortured and his family threatened with sexual abuse, which led to him giving false statements against Usman Dar.

15th March 2023 - Police siege Imran Khan's home and attempt to arrest him. Imran Khan had protective bail at the time. He was facing 151 criminal cases at this time including terrorism, sedition and murder. The cases were created in an attempt to arrest and re-arrest him regularly. 4th April 2023 - Pakistan Supreme court announced a deadline of 14th May for the punjab elections. Date has come and gone, no elections.
9th May 2023 - Imran Khan arrested, nationwide protests break out. Protestors protest outside military garrisons and headquarters accusing the military of political involvement. Police and the army reacted with bullets, battons, tear gas and arrests. In the coming days 250 protestors were killed. Since then 10,000 political workers have been arrested and the entire senior leadership of PTI was arrested.
11th May 2023 - Pakistani journalist Imran Riaz Khan was arrested on the way to the airport. To this day he has not been charged. Multiple courts have requested police to present him to the courts, police and intelligence services claim they are unaware of his wereabouts.
23rd May 2023 - Hammad Azhar (the former minister for economic affairs) is currently being hunted. His family home was raided and his 82 year old father was threatened with his daughters being taken (a threat of rape) if Hammad Azhar was not found. He confirms these events and provides CCTV evidence on twitter.
23rd May 2023 - Former Human Rights Minister Shireen Mazari arrested 5 times in 2 weeks. Eventually she resigned from politics stating she is putting the interests and safety of her family first.
24th May 2023 - Former information minister Fawad Chaudry is released from prison. He announces his resignation from PTI and from politics.
