I have Mitchell and I am just unable to throw him out because of the ridiculous low price. I have less than 0.5 in bank.
Any suggestions?

Eeeek. Newcastle v Villa being postponed is interesting. I have Martinez and Barkley (injured so wouldn't have played anyway). I also have Jimenez who I will (sadly) have to take out.

I've only got Martinez as a playing keeper - so decision to be made there, but I think I'll just go with 0 points in goal this week.

I want to avoid another hit here, so will just have to hope Kilman starts and go 4-4-2. Watkins and Grealish are probably worth holding onto anyway if they have a double game week soon.

Only thing is, those of us who had Jiminez were kind of frustrated with him not scoring enough. Is bringing in Fabio likely to be any better?
If Nuno ditches 3 at the back for good, Wolves might be a better attacking side. It may have just been a one off against Arsenal though.

Same. Keeper points are pretty much a bonus anyway. Definitely not worth a -4, as that game will be played again soon.

I reckon I’ll ship out Watkins for Che Adams as Southampton’s fixtures are good. He will probably haul at some point, given that he could have easily scored two last night, but two attacking Villa players feels like too many at this point.

I’m not sure. Wolves haven’t really got going in an attacking sense but I’m sure it’ll pick up against the weaker teams at least in the second half of the season. They have awful fixtures coming along but they can give anyone a test on their day. 3rd striker is always a gamble and changing between Wilson Watkins and Bamford every week or 2 is becoming tiresome and really hard to call. I might take DCL out for Cavani after this gameweek. If Cavani scores again this week in the CL or PL then I feel like he’s a starter for the next few weeks with Mason Rash or martial playing either side

Starting to think KDB is really poor value. He was great last season but those numbers are not going to return. I bet Bruno gets more points for lower price. Also, for me at selling prices I can get now he's extra 4.7m to Grealish, 2.5m to Son and 3.6m to Ziyech. Those amounts basically mean in other positions I'd be looking at something like Reguilon, Castagne and Dias vs Justin, Kilman and Dallas and not even then would I get to 3.6m let alone 4.7m.

Depends a lot on the formation you play. Start of season 3 strikers were pretty much the way to go but you look at the likes of Maupay/Bamford/Watkins etc they aren't consistent enough to get you regular points. I just don't like the way Wolves set up. I think with losing Jota/Doherty and now Jimis injury I won't be going near them for the moment.

I do want KDB in but for the life of me I can't justify having him over Bruno and Salah. Kanes fixtures will turn nice and I think I might go with Kane.

Also will he be on pens considering he missed the last one and Aguero is due back.

This is a but if a disaster - 3 Villa players and same keeper situation as you!

Might well be a perfect week to play the free hit.
I usually try and use it for the FA cup quarter weekend but I think this season it may well be separate to game weeks?

Plus point would be being able to bring in a 3rd Man City midfielder and Salah and Jota for Liverpool's game.

It's probably the best way forward as otherwise I'm down to Bissouma as a starter relying on Kilman to start away at Anfield plus having to weigh up a keeper switch!

Yeah I could in theory have all of Bruno, Salah, KDB and Kane while having a relatively decent team in other positions but giving up on KDB would make it way better. The best one with KDB I have managed to build:

McCarthy
Chilwell Konsa Coufal Dallas
KDB Salah Bruno Grealish
DCL Kane

Bench: Vestergaard, Lookman, 2x fodders

But just moving from KDB to Ziyech I can get:

McCarthy
Chilwell Dias Reguilon Konsa
Ziyech Salah Bruno Grealish
DCL Kane

Bench: Jota, Dallas, 2x fodders

Which is just way better, easily. Or I can even keep Son though I think I prefer Ziyech anyway.

I am terrible at this game so take this with a pinch of salt, but if I were you, I would take a -4 and play Kilman. With Covid still doing the rounds, your free hit could come in pretty hand for some really nice double game weeks to come.

I don’t think it’s worth wasting for just a few players. Take your chances with the -4, accept a zero on the Gk, get a team out with Kilman, and use your free hit whenever United/City play their game in hand, for example.

Yep that free hit is certainly a really powerful tool.

Just checking, I can get a keeperless 10 out now, with Kilman as "security" (!) away at Anfield as it stands, to cover for any of the starting 10missing out. Wouldn't it be sod's law for instance for Pep to rest Dias for the first time when you have so many others out!
So the choice is whether to bother getting another keeper in or going without 1 for 1 week, knowing Martinez has 2 doubles coming up later.

McCarthy in with some of the 1.1m pot I have could be another option, but I'd stored that 1.1m to bring Salah in for De Bruyne when he plays Fulham.

It also ruins the idea of bringing Mahrez in for Ziyech this week, as that would probably be too risky with Grealish benched and Ziyech a definite starter.

Watkins to Bamford could be a goer - but Bamford at Chelsea isn't ideal. Also Watkins will again have those 2 doubles. But at least that would only be a negligible 0.1m loss and having an extra goalscorer playing is always good.
Similar with Grealish to Mahrez, but would lose a colossal 0.4m value too! And again know I need him for the doubles!

Need the miracle of them re-arranging it for next Tue or Wed!!

Probably won’t be a DGW until GW17 at the earliest and that depends on teams exiting the Carabao.

I hate looking at my team as well and knowing there is not much chance of a few players getting anything. I like to have the hope there at least before it is snuffed out

It’s only a one time chip though. I think you could easily get a double week with a few fixtures and the opportunity to hit big with a few big teams. It’s tempting, but I won’t be wasting it just because I have a couple of poor starters.

Cancelo and Sterling seem to be marked for CL games.

KDB fully fresh for Fulham.
Yeah I think I'm starting to work the bald git out. Mendy and Walker look like first choice fb's in the PL at the moment.

Foden seems to now be KDB's understudy (after a season of being David Silva's understudy).

Sterling is definitely out of favour and the preferred attack in the PL seems to be KDB, Mahrez, Jesus and Torres at the minute.

Basically I need to punt both Foden and Cancelo out of my team for a -4 this week as I've already got 2 non starters (Mitchell and Alzate) on my bench. Thinking Mahrez and Vestergaard maybe.

Konsa has moved to my bench. If I drop Grealish for this week, I get 7.7 to spend on a replacement.

Im thinking of dropping Robertson for Ruben Dias to upgrade ASM to Jota.

This will leave me with:

Martiniez
Chilwell Castagne Dias KWP Mitchell
Grealish KDB Bruno Jota Podence
Kane DCL Bamford

Thoughts?

My team is a mess right now.
Definitely out next GW: Martinez, Barkley, Jimenez (:()
Doubts: Robertson
Don't start: Mitchell, Alzate

Leaves me with 8 players! (9 if Robertson does start)
Will use my 1xFT to swap Jimenez for someone (tempted to take a punt on Cavani), but will probably take a hit just to get a guarenteed starter in.

I think we are talking cross purposes.

People have been arguing that you shouldn't sell Villa assets as they may have a DGW soon. GW11 is this weekend. They won't have a DGW until GW17 at the earliest. This is contingent on Newcastle or City losing in the Carabao and could result in a DGW17 of United away and City away, after they have played Chelsea away in GW16 and Spurs at home in GW18!

I think I will keep my triple Villa, but can fully understand people selling.

I dont know why people are rushing out to sell Martinez, especially taking a hit.

Most keepers will likely get you 2 points anyway and some will get you a clean sheet. Even if they keep the clean shee, you've only made your points back. You need them to save a penalty to make it worth it most likely or get a CS plus bonus points. That's quite unlikely.

You might as well keep Martinez and save yourself wasting a transfer bringing him in for the DGW.

What a mess. Already on a -4 bringing in Wilson.
Now I have Wilson Grealish Steer and Martinez who'll definitely not play. Add the fact that Cancelo is likely to get benched and My only bench option is Jorginho who barely gets on the pitch. Starting with a -4 and looks like I'll have only 9 players for this gameweek.

Always a risk with early transfers.

As soon as you think you have worked him out it will backfire!

I certainly see Mahrez being a first choice when he produce though.

Still would you captain him vs Fulham? I don't think I would.

I got KDB last week to captain against Fulham and I expect a massacre.

I am getting KBB too. Not sure they will destroy them though. Fulham did well vs Leicester and play more defensive now.
Just the potential with City is highest.

I am not sure how to get him though. Bruno/Son/Grealish/Vardy/DCL/Jota. These are guys I need to sacrifice in order to get him.

Sacrifice one?
Grealish not playing this week. Vardy is not really firing consistently. The others are too good and valuable.

Personally I opt not to get KDB, too much costs and bad in the long run, there are far better options. I'm also still not convinced with City, nor KDB. They're not yet consistent performance wise. Fulham is also getting tight defensively.

Probably use my free transfer Grealish to Mahrez then bring him back next week.

Is it time to sell Bruno? Didn't look good today and our next two games are hard.
The other option is selling Son and I do think Arsenal could be a good game for them.

Or Grealish/Jota out for Mahrez and ignore KDB. Just not sure I want to be involved in Pep benching him when I captain Mahrez.

Bruno is never predictable, like a joker card.

He always rewards managers when we don't expect he will. That's what I just notice this season :D after looking through many teams past GWs. I'll be keeping him all the time from now on. Never leave by choice.

I'm tempted to sell Kane and buy Vardy for this week. Might make him captain too as surely he'll score against the Blades.

I agree, but I really like De Bruyne vs Fulham. In the derby I think we might actually win it and De Bruyne blank, but think Rashford is the guy to have for us in it.

I could keep Bruno and then sell De Bruyne after one game if I get him for Son in order to get Salah.

Basically wasting my transfers to get the big hitters with easiest games. Also Fulham are better than earlier in the season so City might not smash them.

I am tempted to sell Vardy though, but I really don't want too. It is the only way to keep Bruno and get De Bruyne/Salah.

It is too many good players I want and I can't make up my mind.
