I realized if I give up TAA I can build a very strong midfield and attack.

But I don't know if it's mental to pass up on him.

A much better option than Ziyech at £8m ?
I went and checked the stats.

Ziyech past 2 seasons in Eredivisie:

19/20: Played 21, Goals 6, Assists 12
18/29: Played 29, Goals 16, Assists 13

Havertz past 2 seasons in Bundesliga:

19/20: Played 30, Goals 12, Assists 6
18/29: Played 34, Goals 17, Assists 3

Feels like Havertz solid goals tallies in the BD is a safer bet over Ziyech's numbers in a weaker league to me. Both a gamble of course whether they settle straight away or not.

I don't think he will start well personally, but I still have him just in case.
He has so many ways he can get points. Crossing, simple passes to Salah, set pieces both assists and goals, runs into the box and scoring, clean sheet, bonus.

The issue is that most other people will have TAA in their team, so not having him becomes a bigger risk.

Liverpool had the best defence last season so he will get clean sheet points, as many as the other LFC defenders. However; TAA has become a set piece specialist.

Haven't played properly in ages - why does the game have so many attackers listed as midfielders now? Aubameyang? Like, eh?

Im going for:

McCarthy (Nyland)
Saliba - TAA - KWP - Lascelles - Mitchell
Podence - Saka - Mané - Son (Bruno)
Werner - Richarlison (Davis)

Nyland will stay in my team until i wc after the window closes
Martial for Werner for GW 2 leaving me with 2.5m in bank for GW3

Will Podence start ?

Ryan Frasier to Newcastle to team up with Callum Wilson. Anyone tempted?

This + I reckon Havertz will play in a false 9 with Werner cutting in. In which case they will share a bulk of the goals I'd imagine.

Depends on the price. Would like Wilson over Mitrovic if he walks in at 6m. He'll probably be 7m though, the fecker.

Thanks for the stats, Its a pretty close call imo but I do like the look of Ziyech.

Best value is definitely Chelsea. I think Pulisic will have a big impact coming back in too. It’s tough to see where to cut value.

No TAA? No de Bruyne? Or cheap CF?

I'm worried Vinagre and Justin (Leicester) won't play as these teams have bought players in those positions.

They're in many teams so I'd have a look at that.

I think Vinagre will play. Marcal will more play in the back 3 I think just like he has done for Lyon.
Still a risk though that he do not start.

What about Justin? Know much about him?

Maybe I'll drop Justin for KWP to save myself if Vinagre doesn't play...

Castange can play in his position no doubt. Strange buy I think, but he could also play down the left.
I think it is maybe best to avoid Leicester defense early on. Many injuries too so might not keep that many clean sheets anyway.

Was trawling club sites to try and figure this out too earlier. Seems like Justin might still be ok, but not convinced Vinagre is still a good bet with Marcal arriving.

Settled on :

----------McCarthy
TAA --- James --- Tierney
Traore -- Havertz -- Aubameyang -- Son
Jimenez --- Richarlison --- Ings

I usually lose interest after a few weeks, so I hope the core group can carry me through (will probably swap in Bruno and potentially Foden and Greenwood after the first game week)

By my detective skills, most people are going for either Ayling or Dallas. Dallas the name I'm seeing more. And looking at their wiki pages, Ayling described as a defender while Dallas a wing-back/winger. Ayling has 6 goals in 144 apps. Dallas 16 in 176 for Leeds. Both got 4 goals last season.

I think I’ll put Hamez in if he starts the first game. He’s a good player and seems like the undroppable due to being the manager’s favourite kind of player, like a Rashford under Ole or Kane under Mourinho.

First time looking at FF in a few weeks, completely out of the loop with whats going on transfer wise too...

With the staggered start to the season as well this is proving tricky.

Also, is it just me or are the prices for most players absolutely crazy?

This pre season has been a mine field. Delayed transfer window, big teams missing GW1, international break right before the season starts, players getting covid, the Messi - will he or won't he join City saga, United captain arrested, Utd n City players being punished for being top shaggers.....the list goes on and on.

Can't wait till we're locked in now and let the mayhem commence.

Eredivisie goals are like Monopoly money, pretty much useless.
