I saved my final decisions for the day incase of team news or injuries and ended up forgetting to check as had an hours 8 aside 12.30-1.30 and then jumped in the pool with the kids when i got back to cool off and when i got out it was 2.27 and i missed out on all the team news in the rush! In the week i was weighing up MGW and one or two others. But it is what it is. You did great and well deserved. A ridiculous error by anyone's standard.
Pretty sure my Transfers where Salah, Marmoush and Kroupi in for Haaland, Saka and Rogers and to make Salah captain.
So ended up with Bruno captain with 6 players not playing a single minute and 2 coming off the bench.
Not doing those transfers actually gained me points due to the Bruno haul.
And then, just when you think you cannot get any luckier , I see I missed out on the RedCafe top spot by one point last night, only to check this morning and it looks like Hill who was on 9 defcon points has been given 1 more to reach 10 and get the 2 extra points

Managed to score 62 points, 7 point green arrow, despite Martinez, O’Reilly, Dalot, Saka and Haaland contributing no points but still finished first in my mini league with 23 points to spare. When the leaks happened I was very worried!

I know what you mean, I was set to make changes but just couldn’t decide so decided to no hit. One was to take Watkins out for Richarlison. Bringing in Hermansen or Dubravka on an FT was my only registered change and he kept a clean sheet, thankfully! Bruno captaincy saved the day!

An improvement on last year but it all went to hell in the last 8 weeks or so. I didn't have a proper thought out strategy for using my chips when everyone else seemed to.

2253, OR 435,515. Last few weeks were pretty rough - some terrible decisions. I was hoping to finish top 100k at one stage but realistically it's beyond a man of my limited abilities
Everything was great until blank week. I used all my chips before that so that week and double week cost me around 100k in overall rank. On top of that my both BB and one TC went to shit.
On a positive side every -4 which i did this season paid off.
Overall 150k.
What i have learned - save your chips for the end of the season and don't be afraid to take minus 4 hit.

2241 points for me. Don't ever look at rank as it'd be too depressing!
17th in the work league (out of 100) which is lowest for many a year.
Staying stubbornly on Watkins and Rogers for that 5 week blank at the start of the season was a big error.

2248 and out. Crap use of wildcard, BB in the last 5 gameweeks plus rolling the dice by booting Watkins in GW 37 cost me. Captaining Slob instead of Bruno on Sunday for a differential didn’t pay off.
2254, OR 428,130. One of my worst seasons that. Stubborn refusal to get on the defcon train being the main reason. Wonder how they'll balance that out next season. Gutted about losing the cup final on the last day because of that bloody Bowen goal. I'd have won if I'd have done the Salah and Bowen transfer in for Haaland and Saka as well but didn't want to take -4.

Unbelievable Geoff. Congratulations.That's something else they need to sort out for next season as well. They kept the GW open to update scores in 38 but but didn't for any of the other 37 weeks which is a bit naughty.
Thank you mate, as usual these things come down to very small margins and whoever runs good at the right time tends to get there.
I think you where always around the top every time i checked so you have just been very unlucky towards the end.
The fact your captain or vice captain did not play at all in the final game week says it all, I was just lucky I had Bruno as vice captain and chose previously to not go with Saka and triple up on the Arsenal defence instead.
Hopefully we lock horns again next season
Thank you mate, it's funny how this game can play out sometimes, we can make the right play and watch it backfire and make what looks like a mistake and you get rewarded for it.
You see it all the time in the cups, you get some random guy who has 3 players nobody would own and you think you should cruise through only to check and those 3 players have something like 40 points and you have been properly done.

That Def con late change thing affected 2nd and 3rd in my league. One was sitting pretty for 2nd then the guy in 3rd had 2 points added on late for def cons.

I second this! After a magnificent start leading leagues suffered an awful mid season slump around GWs 18 to 23 but refused to take hits which cost me some rank. Happy enough overall at 280,854.
I can't stop thinking about chips. IF (i know that you can use that logic for 100 things which you do during the season), but IF i didn't bottle most of chips, i would be in top 10k. Gabriel TC was play of the season (isn't it @Pickle85 ).

Can you activate a booster during a live round? That's not entirely clear to me. For example if I see that a player who I didn't select as captain has scored a lot of points, I can then activate the "Maximum Captain" booster and it will assign the captaincy to him anyway even after he has played?
Lots of different rules in this FIFA game. I'm guessing it makes sense to frontload your team (and captaincy choice) with players from early games since you can just swap them out for a player who's yet to play his game if they blank?

As far as i know, you can't during a live round. Boosters need to be activated before a round starts.
Yes on frontloading and sort your team by fixture date. Its valuable to build a strong 15 rather than focusing on just the starting XI. But be vary of kick off times if you need confirmation of lineups before making a sub. The game doesn't do autosubs.
Yeah timing isn't ideal to make subs in between games for European based people, I'm not gonna wake up at 3am to see if I need to transfer a player out for a sub that's about to play

I don't think they'll get Dorgu that wrong but I'll have him if he's 5.5 or less. Sesko's price will be very interesting, 11 goals in 1600 minutes and his price actually went down over the season from 7.5 to 7.2, so anything like that and I'll be in for sure.

Wondered if they might rethink the chips as there seemed too many. But I guess they never go backwards!
They'll update league positions instantly depending on goals and assists flying in?! Sounds hard work when they spend hours updating after game weeks.
As confirmed by social media FPL channel
General updates
- FPL points, ranks & mini leagues will now update in real time
- DEFCON points will continue
- Gameweek locks only at 9 AM the day after the last game is played (Great for DEFCON updates)
- No changes to chips, we'll get 2 set of chips like last season (1 set for each half)
- We can continue to roll up to five free transfers
- No free transfers for Asian Cup (No AFCON this time)
- Players no longer punished for being tackled. Previously -1 BPS for each time a player was tackled. Likes of Rogers, Semenyo, Ndiaye, Doku, Kayode, Bogle, Nico O'Reilly biggest beneficiaries
- A player will earn now earn 1 BPS for every 3 CBI, instead of getting 1 BPS for every 2 CBI last season.
- Above balances DEFCON defenders benefiting in
- GKs will now earn an additional 1 BPS for saving a "big chance"
- Penalty save will now be 7 BPS instead of 8 BPS (Evens out because penalty is a big chance too
- GKs will earn 2 BPS for any save (Even deflections from own team mate) plus an extra 1 BPS for saving a shot taken from inside the box
- BPS for saves from outside the box is removed

Wish they could implement some sort of Scouting bonus thing like in WC fantasy. Just anything to fight the template. But i suppose that's difficult to do in a league-based game.
If true, that kills Dorgu as an FPL pick. But makes Kroupi more viable.
