Fantasy Premier League 25/26

I think its time to Wildcard the team. Had a decent run so far

Raya - Dubrava
Burn - Sinesi - Gabriel - Guehi - Romero
Sarr - Ndiaye - Rice - Kudus - Anthony
Haaland - Gyokeres - Richarlison

Thinking of this moving forward. Or add Palinha / Reijnders for Kudus / Rice. Cant decide. Also another striker better to Richarlison?
Rice over Reijnders for me. I don't get love for Richarlisom, tbh. Rotation risk plus Spurs are not some crazy attacking force. Mateta, Woltemade, Pedro or even Šeško would be my choice for third striker over him.

Anyway, i ask again; thoughts on Cucurella and Nouri? Replace or keep?
Both are expensive but have a good run of games after NT break.

I have settled squad and i don't need to save money.

Difficult with Cucurella imo. Acheampong looked really weak against Brighton, so you might depend on defcons with him.

Ait Nouri’s fixtures when he comes back look bad imo.

I’d probably downgrade both to low cost players who can make defcons reliably and rotate well. Would free up money for Saka and Palmer’s fixture swings.

Sesko  Stop it hurts.

Richarlison is defo out on wildcard. Was just a 1-2 week punt for me. Isak looked like shit again yesterday. So unfit.

Will Nouri get back into the team? They look much stronger defensively with OReily there.

I am starting to think like that too. Still 50:50 on Cucu but Ait is off.

I think the low cost def con players (under 5) who are in that sweet spot where they are heavily involved, can score the occasional goal, and have tough to midtable opposition are the one's to go for. You want that player who can both get defcons and maybe hit a clean sheet as the upside is just big. Even better if they are a goal threat too.

Decent or solid defences like Newcastle (Burn), or Bournemouth (Senesi) or just value picks like Esteve/Ekdal. Or Andersen from gameweek 10. Alderete's got some decent fixtures too over the next 6 if you can rotate him well.

I'd even consider trying to rotate the low cost one's if you can rotate someone with for instance Alderete. Owning players like that looks a bit shit on paper, but I think the numbers will work if you just ride the fixtures.

I've been toying with the following draft;

Roefs - Petrovic
Cash - Burn - Gabriel - Guehi - Senesi
Semenyo - Caicedo - Rice - Reijnders - Kudus
Haaland
- Gyokeres - Isak

Players in bold are already in my team. £0.8m left as it stands.

Few thoughts on this;
Is Raya essential at this point? I did initially think so but Roefs and Petrovic rotate pretty well prior to the AFCON free transfers, only really GW11 is not ideal. Taking Raya out allows for Rice into midfield.
I've already got Matty Cash and with Burnley home next week I'd expect not only get a return but also a potential price increase this week and will move him on then.
Jaiden Anthony is flying, is it worth dropping a midfielder out to bring him in or do we think he'll drop off sooner rather than later? It's not as if he's cheap for a newly promoted asset really.
Is there a logic to bringing Ndiaye or Sarr into the midfield, I'm concerned the attacking input may not be ideal as it stands with that draft.

Yeah that midfield looks too light for me. Raya is not essential at all. Arsenal are one of the few times I'd rather risk the odd benching and double up on defenders instead because of how they play and how much goal threat they carry. Isak is clearly not fit yet either.

Also not a fan of rotating goalkeepers at all. Very hard to get that consistently right. I'd just pick your favourite #1 and keep/get Dubravka as the back up.

Rotation of gk; big no for me. Pick one and have Dubravka as backup. I prefer Raya, some think opposite but there is no need for two gk at all. Never works that.

I would wait with Isak until he keeps firing. After last (bad) game i expect that Ekitike will bench him for a while.
Midfield seems weak to me (unless you will play 5-2-3).

Thinking I might hold on to Gakpo, was fairly adamant I'd sell him after he was benched.

Getting frustrated at the lack of premium mids doing well. If there was someone I had confidence in I'd look to try and make a move to bring him in. As it is a lot of these 7.5m or lower players look really similar.

May be risking another benching for Gakpo of course, not sure though having seen what Slot was saying about the reasons behind it.

“We wanted to overload the midfield with Florian Wirtz in the first half – that’s why we didn’t start with Cody. But if you’re 1-0 down and you need a goal, you prefer to have width on both sides – and that’s why we brought Cody in. And later on, we kept on bringing in offensive players that can score goals, taking the risk because you’re already 1-0 down.

“That was the reason to bring Cody in, because the way we played the first half wasn’t as I was hoping for before the game.”

Sure, he may want to overload that midfield again, but Palace play the same sort of formation as we do with just the 2 CMs and teams have spoken about trying to do that to United. Could have been a specific setup for that game only?

Gakpo coming on at half time, maybe he concludes that benching him wasn't a good idea in general anyway?

I don't know.

Edit: Got Semenyo, Eze, Sarr and Reijnders as my others. Could switch from Gakpo to Ndiaye, Kudus, Simons, Paqueta, Enzo and many more right now. Nobody jumping out as a must have.

I am so trigger happy as a manager, but I think you are mad WCing that.

You would potentially keep…

Raya, Senesi, Gabriel, Guehi, Sarr, Ndiaye, Kudus, Haaland, Gyokeres

You have three arsenal in place for their good run, Anthony for his good run and Romero and Burn are not bad picks at all.

I can’t see which options you have to have that would necessitate this now.

Isn't that the team he's wildcarding into?

Ah I am stupid, read the first sentence all wrong!

Cheers lads.

The keeper rotation is an interesting one. I’ve had success with it before but I do get the issues with it. My issue is I’m not sure on either of them as my set & forget goalkeeper, the best option for a set & forget is Raya I tend to think but then I need to replace Rice, which is fine but picking an option around £6.5m isn’t easy unless you’ve got any suggestions?

Re Isak, I’ve already got him, bought at 10.4 before the transfer window closed so my concern is that his price is only going to go up and realistically after this weekend there’s another international break for him to get fitter and then they play us.

FFS, Michael Keane, sold him a few weeks back now having had him at the start of the season. Would have been good to keep around.

With Tarkowski too I wanted to diversify that defence to rotate around fixtures, and there was always the question of how long Branthwaite would be out.

Any noticed any crazy name changes to players?

Have spotted an Eid, Holy, John Peter, I am Him, Indeed just for a few!!

Holy is Kudos, John Peter Pedro, Eid is Raya

Has someone got in and hacked it?

Presumably this is some auto-translate thing you have on your phone (or whatever else you're viewing it on)?

I think Eid (The muslim religious festival) is known as Raya in some places. John Peter is just a literal anglicisation of Joao Pedro etc.

Just viewing it on the usual browser on my laptop without changing anything. Very weird and whatever has changed I need to sort out as I don't want to work out who "The Foot" is next week!

Nicolas Filling Jug the silliest one i've seen. But it's only a small amount of players.

Excellent detective work. Reckon you'd be good at Only Connect.

And how on earth could you set a translation tool on a site like fantasy footy? But only for about 5% of players
It could be something built in to your browser, rather than the site itself. I feel like I have to turn bullshit new AI features off after most updates these days.

You must be right as the phone is fine.
All I've done differently was delete cookies as 4od went black picture and sound stayed on, so read that you needed to sign out, refresh and back in. Very odd.

Refreshed the page and all sorted. How bizarre. But was fun for 10mins seeing the madness.

Gyokeres was down as "Rooted" which felt accurate!

Grealish out on his ear. Palace next and then can’t play against City. Don’t fancy having any Everton so he is the one to go.

Grealish might not be a mid term keep...will have to review him being a starter.

Yeah, grealish was frustrating. Silky at times but most regularly stopped, pretended to try to beat his man and then popped it inside. Wish he'd never gone to city.

No Tarkowski defcon tonight, first time this season.

Everton had the majority of posession for the first time too, making it more difficult. Mind you, Keane still got there.

That checks out as well for the auto-translate theory:

Shame it wasn't Hungarian for 'looks like he's running in jeans', but close enough.

Dorgu racking up a big 0 while Diuof sitting on the bench with 5
I hate this team.
Torn whether to bench Dorgu for next match.
Absolute gash.

Livra out is likely to be my priority this week but waiting on some news. Would like to get shot of grealish too at some point. Ekitike and gakpo are staying in for the mo, though they'll become more and more susceptible to rests/being moved around.

I would bench him as I can see Amorim doing what he did vs Burnley and starting Dalot at LWB. Dorgu was an unused sub in that game but you might not be as fortunate next time.

Bowen is a menace
He recent stats are incredible, 17 points in his last 3 games and only 6% ownership. Could be a great differential considering the likes of Isak, Gyökeres, Richarlison even Joáo Pedro all have poor returns. He plays Arsenal next, wonder is he worth a gamble after that game?

Have you wildcarded?

Finally saw some returns on that Michael Keane pick. Would've been a really good week for me if Fernandes didn't miss his pen!
