FAO Tottenham Hotspur | Relegation candidates

Loved him as a player, although he had Hajduk background was my favorite player for some time, but as a coach there's not much to write about, stubborn as hell.

Yeah, pretty much the same thinking. Had a short period when he was brilliant as a player for Juventus. I kind of tried to see something in him as a coach and respected his 'stick to my way no matter what approach', but not only he is rigid in his tactics but players end up everywhere on the pitch. Think he also played 4 or 5 CB's near his end with Juventus and fans were going crazy. He did alright with Marseille tbf

Tudor, say that with an Merican accent, Tudooor. If he cant get a watch sponsorship he is lacking though.

He was already Juventus manager 2 times.

He's a talented manager but a hot head and usually doesnt stay long at any club. I give him about 2 months at Spurs.

He must've done well at some clubs to get Juventus job even if it didn't work out there in the long run.

This does remind me though of last season when Southampton appointed Juric and said he was going to do this and that. In the end all that happened was him pacing up and down the touchline ranting at players as they lost yet another game and he didn't even make the end of the season.

Seems he had a similar stint at Lazio before taking over the Juventus job. Won 5 out of 9 games so Spurs will settle for that and then look again in the summer while Tudor maybe becomes option for someone like Fulham if he's taking this to get in the frame for other prem jobs.

How have I never heard of this lad when he’s managed a few decent top flight clubs?

Tudor, never rated him. He's got a old school scouse cicle about him - get's going strong, fitness levels are up, results are coming and then it all falls apart. I'm quite sure that's gonna happen and can't wait to see it. Aaaaaaaand it's Spurs, a dream come true.

PS i'm Croatian

I think they are going down. Both Forest and West Ham now have better coaches. I think this is turning into the perfect storm.

In which case he’s a great choice …he’s only short term until end of season.

Yeah, looking at his managerial history he looks suited to an early managerial bounce.
Also looks like a guy you dont want to mess with, so might have them pulling together for a few games.

He was good in the Crystal Maze, not sure if it'll transfer to football management though

Interesting choice, even as an interim, as if they believe that there's nothing wrong with the direction they're heading toward, but it's all about bringing a new guy in when the last one's out of favour. It's two seasons in a row now they've been flirting with the relegation positions.

Get your Igor Tudor name by combining a sidekick/assistant character and a period of English history.

I’m Kronk Jacobean

Thought it was pronounced two-door? Swear that's what commentators used to say, in which case I'm proposing the last part should either be a style of car or a number plus a part of your house.

Penfold Hatchback.

Harry Kane must be auto-fellating daily knowing he made it out from this debacle in time

Tudor is a valuable interim manager in that his "vibe" approach usually wins the players and the fans... until it lasts.

Can’t see them going down to be honest

I don’t know. It’s a really bad appointment. I think both teams below them have better managers now and if they lose to Arsenal and West Ham win, there is only 2 points in it.

They are losing to Arsenal unless some VAR nonsense intervenes. But that will not really be his test, the games against Fulham and Palace are his first test and what he will be judged on.

I didn’t say that the Arsenal game will be what he is judged by, just that the expected loss there would make it extremely tight, and I don’t think he is a very good coach. The teams below them could catch them after a few gameweeks.

If it turns in to a shootout between Pereira, Nuno and Tudor, they are screwed.

They have to get that new manager bump or they might well go down.

Once you're in that circle you land jobs all the time however bad you are. He does have a good agent it seems cause he's landing jobs in good clubs and probably is treated as a good coach, but similar to his playing career his temper is his worst enemy every time.
