Stumbled upon this thread,

https://www.redcafe.net/threads/top-10-hip-hop-rap-verses-of-all-time.323839/

And was impressed with the taste for Hip Hop here on the Caf. Here are random few favourites of mine:

Nas - One Love - 3rd Verse @ 2:55

Sometimes I sit back with a Buddha sack
Mind's in another world
Thinkin', "How can we exist through the facts?"
Written in school text books, bibles, et cetera
feck a school lecture, the lies get me vexed-er
So I be ghost from my projects
I take my pen and pad for the weekend
Hittin' L's while I'm sleepin'
A two-day stay, you may say I need the time alone
To relax my dome, no phone, left the 9 at home
You see the streets had me stressed somethin' terrible
feckin' with the corners have a nigga up in Bellevue
Or HDM, hit with numbers from 8 to 10
A future in a maximum state pen is grim
So I comes back home, nobody's out but Shorty Doo-Wop
Rollin' two phillies together
In the Bridge we call 'em oo-wops
He said: "Nas, niggas caught me bustin' off the roof
So I wear a bulletproof and pack a black tre-deuce."
He inhaled so deep, shut his eyes like he was sleep
Started coughin', one eye peeked to watch me speak
I sat back like The Mack, my army suit was black
We was chillin' on these benches
Where he pumped his loose cracks
I took the L when he passed it, this little bastard
Keeps me blasted and starts talking mad shit
I had to school him, told him don't let niggas fool him
‘Cause when the pistol blows
The one that's murdered be the cool one
Tough luck when niggas are struck, families fecked up
Could've caught your man
But didn't look when you bucked up
Mistakes happen, so take heed, never bust up
At the crowd, catch him solo, make the right man bleed
Shorty's laugh was cold-blooded as he spoke so foul
Only 12 tryin' to tell me that he liked my style
Then I rose, wipin' the blunt's ash from my clothes
Then froze only to blow the herb smoke through my nose
And told my little man I'ma ghost, I broze
Left some jewels in his skull that he can sell if he chose
Words of wisdom from Nas: try to rise up above
Keep an eye out for Jake, Shorty Wop, one love

Canibus - Ladies and Willies @ 1:45

Emcees with thin throats get lynched with thick ropes
Nod till they necks broke, and they cassette decks smoke
I'm probably the most murderous, merciless
version of a modern day Copernicus, the world has ever heard of yet
Cold blooded and rugged, shove a gun turret to your stomach
And start busting till you shitting buckets of dry ice nuggets
Cold freestyling, cold rhyming
Cold enough to freeze the mucus lining, in your sinus, rock solid
Spitting, straight running through the competition
Quicker than calculators take to run through long division
Sprinting, from the beginning, from the start to the finish
Quicker than, the cameras niggas use to see a split decision
Arms swinging, a four fifth slinging, ammunition
Pop your clip in, Cap One and Canibus is, listen

Notorious B.I.G. - Notorious Thugs @ 1:14

Armed and dangerous
Ain't too many can bang with us
Straight up weed; no angel dust
Label us "Notorious thug-ass niggas
That love to bust," it's strange to us
Y'all niggas be scramblin', gamblin'
Up in restaurants with mandolins and violins
We just sittin' here tryna win, try not to sin
High off weed and lots of gin
So much smoke, need oxygen
Steadily countin' them Benjamins
Nigga, you should too
If you knew what this game'll do to you
Been in this shit since '92
Look at all the bullshit I been through!
So-called beef with you-know-who
fecked a few female stars or two
Then I blew like, nigga, move like Mike
Shit, not to be fecked with
Motherfecker better duck quick
‘Cause me and my dogs love to buck shit
feck the luck shit, strictly aim
No aspirations to quit the game
Spit your game, talk your shit
Grab your gat, call your clique
Squeeze your clip, hit the right one
Pass that weed, I got to light one
All them niggas, I got to fight one
All them hoes, I got to like one
Our situation is a tight one
What you gonna do: fight or run?
Seems to me that you'll take B
Bone and Big, nigga, die slowly
I'ma tell you like a nigga told me
"Cash Rules Everything Around Me"
Shit, lyrically, niggas can't see me
feck it, buy the coke, cook the coke, cut it
Know the bitch 'fore you caught yourself lovin' it
Nigga with a Benz feckin' it
Doesn't it seem odd to you?
Big come through with mobs and crews
Goodfellas down to the Mo' Thugs dudes
Who's the killer: me or you?

Joe Budden - Whatever It Takes (Basically one 6-minute verse)

Alright I'm dealin with some shit homey, it's in the back of my head
And it's some shit homey, but I just rap it instead
See I got wolverine bones in me, but the whole world
Is throwin' stones at me like they all gotta bone with me
Got a child's mother, and I hate her to death
But that's my child's mother, so that's my major to the death
It's wild how I love her, for puttin little me here
And me and her'll be forever, she gon' still be there
Then there's some other niggas, are just a character role
But they some other niggas, now let's get back to the song
I got a drug problem, that I ain't tended to
Because I got enough problems, and my solution is to stuff problems
But if something goes wrong with that
Then it's back to PCP and so long with rap
See I'm depressed lately, but nobody understands
That I'm depressed lately, I'm sorta feelin repressed lately
So y'all been hearin and seein me less lately
Like it's anyone noticed the redress lately
Look deep nigga don't I seem stressed lately
Seem disturbed, lot of regrets lately
Got a company, that I'm signed to
But they ain't in my company, when all I need is some company
When I start feelin like e'rybody's done with me
I try to see what e'rybody want with me
Then the mistress, yeah, the girl from ten minutes it's her
Now I'm needin ten minutes from her
I can't get into it, but I want y'all to know
That I'll get into it, but I'll save that for the growth
Then it's rap beef, but I'm so secure with me
It's only rap beef, I don't need se-cu-rity (never)
Wanna get at me, wanna go to war with me
That's just one phone call for me, check the shit
I got a whole hood, that don't appreciate me
It's not the whole hood, that depreciates me (okay)
What you gon' tell me, when it's the streets that made me
And I won't let the belly of the beast degrade me
And then it's rap critics, they say all I make is dance music
But to almost anything you can dance stupid
They ain't like the single, so they ain't copped that album
Wouldn't give a chance to it, not a second glance to it
They say he wines too much (and) he's too bitter (and)
They call it complainin (but) I call it explainin (y'know)
How normal niggas could get caught up in the game and
Lose they mind and y'all call it entertainment
Some shit with me, but dudes been knew that
But I'm gamblin a lot and I ain't used to do that (I didn't) (nah)
Rap ain't payin the bills, it's mo' money mo' problems
Or it's no money mo' problems
All enormous when you play at these stakes
That's how it feels to have a warrant on a famous face
Then the album's pushed back, cause they say he need a single
At the moment, but what he needs is a single moment
Then I'm involved in the he say, she say
(that's) in my mind on replay, each day
(then) Then it's the bullshit that she say he's gay
Cause she wouldn't like to think that he ain't like her
Just cause she was throwin it at me and I ain't touch her
She'll say anything side from I ain't wanna feck her (nah)
I don't feel good, so I don't wanna go to a club
Don't wanna go to a lounge, just wanna lounge (I just wanna lounge)
In the same sweats that I had on for days
Same tee I had on for a week, what I got on it speaks
What I got on, it reeks
No shape up, chillin, cause that's just how I'm feelin
And one day at a time, it's God willin
(see I'm) Tryin to see straight but the fog keeps buildin
Pulse start racin, the bulls startin to hate me
But I gotta be a king, cause there's wolves tryin to play me
Hoodie when it's hot like it's freezin winter
Rest starve, eating sleep for dinner
And it's hard tryna keep this in ya, so I write it all down
So one day maybe when life is all sweet I remember
Then it's probation, I know we all go through it
We call it probation, but there's no pro to it
Yeah my soul's achin, only a few peers know
Funny thing about the case is it's a few years old
Had some shit going on with my (cough) ohh, that felt good but it's bad
So I'm sittin here like what the bitch had
It's not rap it's real, look scrappy it's true
Goin what's popping, do he (I) look happy to you? (nah)
Now if it goes to the wire, go the soul of a fighter
Bruised up and sloppy, or damaged like Ali
Up late talkin to the fans on a website
That's the only thing that send your man off to bed right
feck the world, feck my moms and my girl!
Well maybe not mom, just let me remain calm
This too won't last, this too shall pass
At least that's what I say y'all, that's what I pray for
And I'm the only thing that's standin in my way y'all
But I gotta be with me, it's no escape y'all
I guess depression just stepped in
And took over shit like it's known to do
Guess it said, hey Joe, I'm goin home with you
Turn your phone off, I need to be alone with you
I need to be in the zone with you
Cause I'm the only thing you've prone to nigga, look I own you nigga
Been with you since 10, but you startin to confuse me
Cause it's been so long and you still tryin to lose me
Like how could you show me such cruelty
When everybody turns their back on you Joe it's you and me
Joe you don't want me to see you right
And why you always come get me, how we reunite, huh?
I know you feel for me deep in your heart
Doctors, meetings, pills couldn't keep us apart
But now you got a deal and you wanna get rid of me
We roommates, I'm in your head Joe, you live with me
So I don't write for the fans, nah, I write to my man
In hopes that he'll just leave and understand
Like, like please leave the kid in peace
Let me smoke this one cig' in peace (just give me 10 minutes)
Just leave for a second man, it's been too long and I can't troop it
And long as you around I can't make that dance music

Notorious B.I.G. - Young G's @ 3:30

Damn it feel good to see people up on it
Flipped two ki's in two weeks and didn't flaunt it
My brain is haunted, with mean dreams
GS's with BB's on it, supreme schemes
To get richer than Richie, quickly
Niggas wanna hit me, If they get me, dress my body in linen by Armani, check it
My lyrical carjack, make your brains splat
High caliber gats is all I feck with, now peep the rough shit
In my circumference, mad bitches, with mad lucci
Bulletproof vests under they coochie
Spitting my Uzi, don't lose me, my trigga niggas represent
Driving dirty in J-30's getting bent
And to my hit hoes, my murder mommies
I be smoking trees in Belize when they find me
While you still killing niggas with punanny, like heiny
And Cyrus up in Cypress feck you raw you on the floor with the virus
While I just, slang coke, smoke pounds to choke
Got lawyers watching lawyers so I won't go broke, now check it
Them country niggas call me Frank White
I'm squirting off in my loft of course I know my shit's tight
Sunrise open my eyes no surprise
Got my shorty flying in with keys taped to her thighs
With all the utensils, who hang my china thing
She half black half oriental eighty-six she got me rental
The situation ain't accidental
What? From a, from a young G's perspective..

Eminem - No Apologies @0:18

In my mind I'm a fighter, my heart's a lighter
My soul is the fluid, my flow sparks it right up
Arsenic writer, author with arthritis
Carpel tunnel, Marshall will start shit-itis
Hard headed and hot headed, bull headed and pig headed,
Dick headed, a prick, a big headache I'm sick
Quick witted, for every lyric spitted there are 6 critics
Who wait for me to slip with it so quick
This dynamite stick buried the wick, it's gonna explode any minute
Some lunatic lit it and it's not Nelly
Do not tell me to stop yelling, when I stop selling I quit
So stop dwelling and I am not failing
You feckers are not ready, 'cause I got jelly like (Beyonce's) pot belly
This is Destiny, yes money I'm off running
So get off of me, I'm not slowing or softening

Nas - Purple @ 2:23

These hot-headed youngsters, always get into trouble
Reacting before thinking, they easily irritated
And murder's premeditated
It's a fact that we sinkin' when we should be climbin'
In a nutshell, it's just jail, drug sales, liquor and diamonds
Niggas rewindin' instead of moving forward
To blow up, so what's the science?
People shouting, police pushing the crowd
And on the ground's a young soldier
With meat hangin' out him
Am I hallucinatin' off the hazin'?
Or did I just see a nigga shoot another nigga's face in?
It's a ugly nation, cops circle the block with mug shots
Photograph pictures of, suspect faces
It's usually two or three niggas who innocent
But if they lock the wrong ones up, then someone'll snitch
A divide and fall strategy, they aren't fair
I dig in my bag of weed that's covered with orange hair
This Color Purple, I'll make whoopee give me the pussy
Celie, Oprah and Danny Glover gots to feel me
This is how I escape the madness
Too much of anything I'll hurt you
So my state of mind's all purple

Will probably come back and add some more periodically, those are just a few of my favourites. Interested to hear any other verses from people.

Best and most noteworthy rap lyrics for me ever will always be Immortal Technique - Dance with the devil.

That is some truly heartbreaking stuff.

His delivery is also right up there, one of the few rap songs that has made me sit down and truly listen.

The second verse in Hit 'em Up by Hussein Fatal, always liked it. It's savage but kinda still melodic in parts and has good flow.

A very similar song that is lesser known is Joe Budden - Three Sides to a Story.

I agree with you that Dance with the Devil is an amazing song. Three Sides is also probably in my top 5 favorite rap songs of all time.

I love Andre so much so of course it was hard to choose two, but these two are the ones off the top of my head. I can't say they're my all time favourites of course but 3 stacks' flow and delivery is one of the best ever so it's hard to choose anything.

1. Return of the "G"
Starts around 0:27.
2. Aquemini
3:43

May add some more Redman, Big Pun and maybe some Big L later.

This is no contest for me. My favorite hiphop verse is RA's in "Uncommon Valor", I haven't yet heard a verse that beats that one. How he describes the Vietnam War from his fathers perspective is crazy.

(it's the 2nd guy rapping, after Vinnie Paz)

Too many to say:lol:

The 3 that popped into my head when I saw the thread is:

Big Pun/Fat Joe 1st verse up to the chorus on Deep Cover 98
Ready for war Joe, how you wanna blow they spot
I know these dirty cops that'll get us in if we murder some wop
Hop in your Hummer, the Punisher's ready
Meet me at Vito's with Noodles, we'll do this dude while he's slurping spaghetti
Everybody kiss the fecking floor, Joey Crack
Buck em all if they move, Noodles shoot that fecking whore
Dead in the middle of Little Italy little did we know
That we riddled two middlemen who didn't do diddly
It'll be a cold day in hell the day I take an L
Make no mistake for real I wouldn't hesitate to kill
I'm still the fat one that you love to hate
Catch you at your mother's wake, smack you then I whack you with my snub trey-eight
I rub your face off the Earth and curse your family children
Like Amityville I drill the nerves in your cavity filling
Insanity's building a pavilion in my civilian
The cannon be the anarchy that humanity's dealing
A villain without remorse, who's willing to out your boss
Forever and take all the cheddar like child support
I support Pun in anything he does, anything he loves
My brother from another mother sent from the above
A thug nigga just like me, one of the best -- might be
Even better leaving niggas kneeling on they right knee
Spike Lee couldn't paint a better picture
You small change, I'm blowing out your brains getting richer
Hit you with the Mac, smack your bitch, nigga what?
You getting stuck, my trigger finger's itchy as a feck!
Truck jewels, cruising in the Land, pumping "Cash Rules"
Last crew to want it caught a hundred trying to pass through
That's true (So who the next to get it?)
TS the best that did it (Get it off your chest kid admit it and it's)
Gza- first verse on Liquid Swords.
Fake niggas get flipped
In mic fights I swing swords and cut clowns
Shit is too swift to bite you record and write it down
I flow like the blood on a murder scene, like a syringe
On some wild out shit, to insert a fiend
But it was your op to shop stolen art
Catch a swollen heart from not rolling smart
I put mad pressure, on phony wack rhymes that get hurt
Shit's played like zodiac signs on sweatshirt
That's minimum, and feminine like sandals
My minimum table stacks a verse on a gamble
Energy is felt once the cards are dealt
With the impact of roundhouse kicks from black belts
That attack, the mic-fones like cyclones or typhoon
I represent from midnight to high noon
I don't waste ink, nigga I think
I drop megaton bombs more faster than you blink
Cause rhyme thoughts travel at a tremendous speed
Clouds of smoke, of natural blends of weed
Only under one circumstance that's if I'm blunted
Turn that shit up, my Clan in the front want it
At work so I'll add the third later

"Sex, gambling and booz,
and all the shit is amusing,
bitches and guns this is every man's dream,
I don't wanna go home where I'm just an ordinary human being"

No complex rhymes but the content is so powerful.

Absolutely. 'Storytelling' type rap is definitely my favourite.

I'll refrain, it's interesting to see what people picked out instead

Wiggy, wiggy, I'm gettin' jiggy
Open up the door, got the keys to your city
You're looking kinda pretty
Dance 'til you drop and it don't stop
Until it go pop
Dance how you wanna dance
Let's all get down while we got da chance
I still got 12 seconds on the clock that's mine
And I ain't gonna stop 'til the sun don't shine
Line after line
I flow like rhyme after rhyme
Just like time after time
Keep it up 'til you feel the heat
And get down once you hear the beat, uh, uh

In terms of pure flow and emotion 2pac's second verse in "Pain" is very powerful as well.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I know it's going be one of those songs that people get sick of hearing about, but some of the lyrics in lil dicky's song "pillow talk" and absolute fantastic.

The video is NSFW so I won't post it here. It's brilliant though.

Sean Price's verse on That's Hard by Smif-N-Wessun

U-God on Wu-Tang Clan - Triumph.
Good call that Sean P verse. I'm a long time Sean fan, used to be the webmaster for seanprice.com, so I could easily paste 99% of his rhymes.
[Sean Price]
Aiyo, shorty look good
Nah, she ugly, but I'm drunk as hell, so feck it shorty look good
The bitch did E, plus she smoke good trees
So me being who I be, I had to do me
The bitch wanted me to straight spend the cash
Slow up, slow fecks, Teddy Pendergrass, no
I'm quick to bend your ass, the feck over
Then jump in your Timbs and dash, whoaa
She talkin' bout that ain't fair
Bitch that's two dollars, feck you mean, "that ain't fare"?
Yo, Sean Price, and the price is cheaper
Only splurge on icebergs, Nike's and reefer
Timberland boots, and plus a gun to shoot
And a pocket full of coke, in case I don't recoup
Cuz, time is money and money is time
And I just got enough time, to get that money

Skinny man's verse from Hold On.

Blud, I ain't trying to prove nothing, move something
Too many man are left dead for nothing
Get battered up, whacked up, spurred for nothing
Beat down, hurt, or left murked for nothing blad
But thats just how tings were gwaanin
When a man said he's a bad man from morning
Now wait till Sunday morning, his family's in church, dressed in black; mourning
Nobody had a chance to warn him coz he had just been
On stage performing and certain girl-dem had started to swarm him
And after that just sounds quite alarming
One brother said your a chief and yes you can
Tell that im looking beef coz i live around all the depression
On the streets [?] my main stress relief
Bust one, and in your belly
Bust one, and in your teeth
And heap on anyone I'm looking to eat
Cos any idiot could have drawn the gun back
Lick out the barrel and make the gun clap
Me I just step at the mic and I run checks
Give them the eye and I shall return in a comeback
Mr Vulga asked me to guest track
Instead of me telling the man dem to get flat
The manor that I'm living in, yes I rep that
Anything I want in life yes I get that
Disrespect me, get disrespect back
Are you really from the ends blad?
Forget that
Are you really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, from the ends blad?
Forget that
Are you really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, from the ends blad?
Forget that

Probably A$AP's verse on 1 Train

Feeling like a vigilante or a missionary
Tell my A$AP killers get they pistols ready
Send 'em to the cemetary with obituaries
Don't be scared, nigga, is you ready?
I've been thinking 'bout all the O's in my bank account
X the O's in my bed is 'round the same amount
Ever since all this new star fame came about
Or ever since me and Drizzy started hangin' out
Young boy, let his gun bang, let his nuts hang
Transition to a Lamborghini from a Mustang
Drugs slang in the drug game with the hustling
(I know one thing) Anything is better than that 1 train
Bag made of Goyard, cheffin' like I'm Boyar-
Dee, probably selling D in your local courtyard
Braids like I'm O-Dog, my la familia go hard
Down to my inlaws, they outlaws with no laws

And then there's Greg P.O.R.N; absolutely kills the second verse on a couple of Roots tracks, most notably here

and here he does it again, second verse

The loner in a world of clones part is majestic.

Somehow I always really liked Three Stacks' verse on this one, pretty revolutionary words back in 1997. Track even has CeeLo on it from when he was Goodie Mob and not that famous:

Definitely one of my favourite OutKast songs

André 3000:

Uh
Who said good folks is not supposed to die
The same nigga that said niggas is not supposed to cry
United States giving out milk and cheese to pacify
I'm sure they got a cure for A.I.D.S., but yet it's classified
You wonder why I spit the truth and not to make no dough
To make a difference 'fore this motherfecker up and blow
In pieces
I could think of many reasons
Only when shit is going bad, you want to holla Jesus
feck a pledge allegiance, they got my knuckles bleedin'
From crawling
Got these niggas thinkin' they really ballin'
When they isn't
Don't take my word, there's niggas off in prison
That will tell you
That's locked up for long time and won't sell you no flex
So congregation, will you turn your text
To the book of OutKast, chapter two, verse one
The first one that feel me, jump up and make a joyful noise
You'se OutKasted, meaning, now you have a choice, like that

Good call that Sean P verse. I'm a long time Sean fan, used to be the webmaster for seanprice.com, so I could easily paste 99% of his rhymes.
I still can't believe he's passed away. One of my all time favourite MCs. And one of the most underrated of his generation IMO.
