J Cole on 21 Savage - a lot

Question
How many faking they streams? (A lot)
Getting they plays from machines (A lot)
I can see behind the smoke and mirrors
Niggas ain't really big as they seem (Hmm)
I never say anything (Nah), everybody got they thing (True)
Some niggas make millions, other niggas make memes (Hmm)
I'm on a money routine
I don't want smoke, I want cream
I don't want no more comparisons
This is a marathon and I’m aware
I been playing it back from a lack of promotions
I was never one for the bragging and boasting
I guess I was hoping the music would speak for itself, but the people want everything else
Ok, no problem, I’ll show up on everyone album
You know what the outcome will be
I'm batting a thousand
It’s got to the point that these rappers don't even like rappin' with me
feck it 'cause my nigga 21 Savage just hit me
And told me he sent me a spot on a new record he got
He call it "a lot, " I open my book and I jot
Pray for Tekashi, they want him to rot
I picture him inside a cell on a cot
’Flectin' on how he made it to the top
Wondering if it was worth it or not
I pray for Markelle 'cause they fecked up his shot
Just want you to know that you got it, my nigga
Though I never met you, I know that you special
And that the Lord blessed you, don't doubt it, my nigga
Dennis Smith Jr., stay solid, my nigga
I'm on a tangent, not how I planned it
I had some fans that hopped and abandoned ship
When they thought that I wasn't gone pan out, I got a plan
They say that success is the greatest revenge, tell all your friends
Cole on a mission, cementin' the spot as the greatest who did it
Before it all ends, nigga

Now that is how you take a guest spot on an album. Amazing verse.

Mos Def's verse on Black Star - Thieves in the Night

Yo, I'm sure that everybody out listening agree
That everything you see ain't really how it be
A lot of jokers out running in place, chasing the style
Be a lot going on beneath the empty smile
Most cats in my area be loving the hysteria
Synthesized surface conceals the interior
America, land of opportunity, mirages and
Camouflages more than usually, speaking loudly
Saying nothing, you confusing me, you losing me, your game is twisted
Want me enlisted in your usury. Foolishly
Most men join the ranks cluelessly, buffoonishly
Accept the deception, believe the perception
Reflection rarely seen across the surface of the looking glass
Walking the street, wondering who they be looking past
Looking gassed with them imported designer shades on
Stars shine bright, but the light rarely stays on
Same song, just remixed, different arrangement
Put you on a yacht but they won't call it a slave ship
Strangeness, you don't control this, you barely hold this
Screaming "brand new", when they just sanitized the old shit
Suppose it's, just another clever Jedi mind trick
That they been running across stars through all the time with
I find it's distressing, there's never no in-between
(We either niggas or Kings, we either bitches or Queens)
The deadly ritual seems immersed in the perverse
Full of short attention spans, short tempers, and (short skirts)
Long barrel automatics released in (short bursts)
The length of black life is treated with (short worth)
Get yours first, them other niggas secondary
That type of illing that be filling up the cemetery
This life is temporary but the (soul is eternal)
Separate the real from the lie, let me learn you
(Not strong), only aggressive cause the power ain't directed
That's why we are subjected to the will of the oppressive
(Not free), we only licensed, not live, we just exciting
Cause (the captors own the masters to what we writing)
Not compassionate, only polite, (we well trained)
Our sincerity's rehearsed in stage, (it's just a game)
Not good, but well behaved cause the camera survey
(Most of the things that we think, do or say)
We chasing after death just to call ourselves brave
But everyday, (next man meet with the grave)
I give a damn if any fan (recall my legacy)
(I'm trying to live life in the sight of God's memory)
(Like that) y'all

Pretty much a perfect hip hop song/verse. Getting into Mos Def more recently and this verse really stood out to me, poetic. On top of this the instrumental of this song is great.

1 for the treble, 2 for the bass
You know the style Tip, now watch me rip this
I like my beats harder than two day old shit
Steady eating booty MC's like cheese grits
My man Al B. Sure, he's in effect mode
Used to have a crush on Dawn from En Vogue
It's not like honey dip would want to get with me
But just in case I own more condoms than TLC
Now the formula is this, me, Tip, and Ali
For those who can't count it goes 1-2-3
The answer, big up is how I be
Brothers find it's hard to do, but never me
Some brothers try to dis Malik
You see'm catchin me
Don't worry about them booty MCs, my shit be hittin
Training gladiator, anti-hesitator
Shaheed push the fader from here to Granada
Mister energetic
Who me, sound pathetic?
When's the last time you heard a funky diabetic?
I don't know man
I don't know

Eminem - Love You More (3rd Verse)

I can never understand it, that's why I don't try
From junior high until we both die, it's silly
Oh why must we try, is it really so rough
That we must always call each other's Billy Goat's Gruff
Try to pull each other's legs, until the other begs
We're lyin' to ourselves, that's the beauty of it yeah
'Cause we truly love each other, that's why we always fightin'
All we do is shove each other every other feckin' night
And it's clear it ain't gonna change, it's pent-up rage
We both had, we both feel like we've been upstaged
By someone else, we've both been someone else's "someone else"
Problem is neither one wants help
It's an addiction and it can't be fixed
Our family's mixed up, there's a baby sister in the mix
And it hurts 'cause the pieces to the puzzle don't fit
And anybody who thinks they know us doesn't know shit
And they're probably just tired of hearin' it all the time
On every song, every lyric and every rhyme
All the hoop-la, all of the whoopty-woo
What you put me through, feckin' whoopty-do
But I won't be made a fool of, if this is true love
You wouldn't do what you did last time, you wouldn't screw up
This time, 'cause this time girl I'm tellin' you what
You do it again, I'm feckin' you up

The whole song is pretty much incredible. Probably my favourite Eminem song. Not many rappers in history can rap with this kind of raw emotion.

Rakim - Don't Sweat the Technique

They wanna know how many rhymes have I ripped and wrecked
But researchers never found all the pieces yet
Scientists try to solve the context
Philosophers are wondering what's next
Pieces took to labs to observe them
They couldn't absorb them
They didn't deserve them
My ideas are only for the audience
Ears, for my opponents, it might take years
Pencils and pens are swords
Letters put together from a key to chords
I'm also a sculpture, form with structure
Because of my culture I'm equipped to construct a
Technical style that'll be full of technology
Complete sights of new heights after I get deep
You don't have to speak just seek and peep the technique

I speak indiscreet cause talk is cheap
Then I get deep in the beat then complete
the Poem's physique, never weak or obsolete
They never grow old, techniques become antiques
Better then something brand new cause it's real
And in a while the style’ll have much more value
Classical, too intelligent to be radical
Masterful, never irrelevant, mathematical
Here's some soothing souvenirs for all the years
You fought and sought, the thoughts and ideas
It's cool when you freak to the beat
But don't sweat the technique

Big Pun - Beware

Yo! What you thought, Pun's shit was weak? Now you can't sleep
Gotta keep your eyes open wide and hide your face from the streets
I'm like the beast with a warrant, far from a law man
Gave you fair warnin', now you on the stairs, fallin'
I'm callin' out any rapper that I doubt, smack him in the mouth
Throw him in the yoke—boom—then I knock him out
No doubt, Freddie Foxxx files
Twenty-shot auto Glock, blaow! Benny Blanc Puerto Rock style
With a twist of black and I'm proud, twist your cap and I'm out
Sleep with the fish-dips for yappin' too loud
What's happenin' now? Niggas is hard as hell but they Gargamels
Pickin' on the smallest victim gives 'em heart to kill
My squad is real and holds it down, the hardest regardless
Besides of the largest
We polish the floor with the rawest hardcore artists
Flawless victory, ya niggas can't do shit to me
Physically, lyrically, hypothetically, realistically
I'm the epitome of catchin' wreck
Catch you when you cash your cheque
Smash you when you pass, then jack you for your feckin' 'Lex
Nothin' less than the best if the Squad did it
Hard-headed niggas better beware and fear like God said it

Flawless victory, ya niggas can't do shit to me
Physically, lyrically, hypothetically, realistically

Great verse but I'm sure it's 'Triny Gladiator' due to Fife Diggy's Trinidadian roots. Funky diabetic is a great finish to that couplet, too.

Joe Budden - Calm Down

Look, I was such a lost soul, just wanted to be down with something
Look at your son now, mommy, I amounted to something
You couldn't figure out, what I had messed with the streets for
Cause you saw my genius without a SAT score
I took drugs and laced it with things
But you a addict yourself -
For you, I was people places and things
Angeldust use to have me in the hallways twurked
I tried to hide it, but Visine didn't always work
I needed someone to blame in my mind
I thought if you and dad never used dope, I would've came out fine
And so I 'igged you hard when you threw in advice
Like what I want to talk to you about? You ruined my life
You the reason why I ended up a con and I knew it
The reason I filled my body with that bomin fluid, mommy
You the reason that my life's gone illegal
The reason I'm kinda different, don't think like normal people, not calm

Always loved the introspective style of rapping Joe Budden was so good at.

Probably my 2nd favourite rapper of all time.

Nas - Everything

Watch me as I walk through the folly, golly, New York to Saudi
In Italy, I'm Eduardo Wiccari
But Nasty the hustler, nasty like mustard gas, sulfur
And I could sell Alaska to Russia, no pressure
My first house, 11,000-square-feet mansion
It was a haunted by dead rich whites
Mad a nigga bought his crib to hang up pictures of black Christ
Circular driveways, black cars and black ice
My second house, still in my twenties, illin' with money
Chilled through my spine, spillin' wine, it's funny
Did good for a staircase loiterer, euphoria
What you saw when you seen a teen turn to a warrior
Did every Fourth of July, bustin' in the sky
It was important to a guy who was mob-minded
Future Murcielago driver 'til Lambos got average on me
I started likin' the look like I ain't had no money
Yellow taxi seats over Maybach seats
Just to remind me, just to inspire me
To stay focused, it's a real sick society
Just cause I got your support don't mean you're buyin' me
I'm buyin' back the land owned by the slave masters
Where my ancestors lived, just to say a rapper
Made a change, the pants-sagger put plans in action
To lay claim the Pan-African made it happen

I love this song. And the Kanye/Dream singing is something special too. A pretty average album but this track is pretty special to me.
Its the best joint on that album, and funny enough I just listened to it earlier today.

[Verse 1]
[Big Pun]
Ready for war, Joe, how you wanna blow they spot?
I know these dirty cops that'll get us in if we murder some wop
Hop in your Hummer, the Punisher's ready
Meet me at Vito's with Noodles
We'll do this dude while he's slurpin' spaghetti
Everybody kiss the feckin' floor
Joey Crack, buck 'em all
If they move – Noodles, shoot that feckin' whore!
Dead in the middle of Little Italy, little did we know
That we riddled two middlemen who didn't do diddily

[Fat Joe]
It'll be a cold day in Hell the day I take an L
Make no mistake for real, I wouldn't hesitate to kill
I'm still the fat one that you love to hate
Catch you at your mother's wake
Smack you, then I whack you with my snub tre eight

[Big Pun]
I rub your face off the Earth and curse your family children
Like Amityville, I drill the nerves in your cavity fillin'
Insanity's buildin' a pavilion in my civilian
The cannon be the anarchy that humanity's dealin'
A villain without remorse, who's willin' to out your boss
Forever, and take all the cheddar like child support

[Fat Joe & (Big Pun)]
I support Pun in anything he does, anything he loves
My brother from another mother, sent from the above
A thug nigga just like me, one of the best—might be
Even better, leavin' niggas kneelin' on they right knee
Spike Lee couldn't paint a better picture
You small change, I'm blowin' out your brains, gettin' richer
Hit ya with the MAC, smack your bitch, nigga what?
You gettin' stuck, my trigger finger's itchy as a feck
Truck jewels, cruisin' in the Land, bumpin' Cash Rules
Last crew to want it caught a hundred tryin' to pass through
That's true! (So who the next to get it?)
TS the best that did it

They'll never take me alive, I'm gettin' high with my four-five
Cocked on these suckas, time to die
Even as a youngster causin' ruckus on the back of the bus
I was a fool all through high school, kickin' up dust
But now I'm labeled as a troublemaker; who can you blame?
Smokin' weed helped me take away the pain
So I'm hopeless rollin' down the freeway swervin', don't worry
I'm about to crash up on the curb 'cause my vision's blurry
Maybe if they tried to understand me; what should I do?
I had to feed my feckin' family; what else could I do
But be a thug? Out slangin' with the homies
feck hangin' with them phonies in the club!
Got my mind on danger; never been a stranger to homicide
My city's full of gang bangers and drive bys
Why do we die at an early age?
He was so young but still a victim of the 12 gauge
My memories of a corpse, mind full of sick thoughts
And I ain't goin back to court, so feck what you thought!
I'm drinkin' Hennessey, runnin' from my enemies
Will I live to be 23? There's so much pain

Pretty much a perfect hip hop song/verse. Getting into Mos Def more recently and this verse really stood out to me, poetic. On top of this the instrumental of this song is great.
Better flow than 99.99% of rappers.
