    Hopefully no Greenwood injury please.

Shaw seems risky to bring along for something like this in particular. I assume the pitch will be frozen solid so not very good for those with injury prone joints it would seem.
Pitch is astro so no danger of it being frozen, however still not good for any injury prone players.

Whoever gets 11 from 11 on the prediction is a "seer"
One of the easier ones surely based on the 18 travelling. Main question is who partners Axel at the back. Could be Taylor, Bernard or Mengi. I went for Taylor.

Don't think he will be going for sympathy and put Taylor in front of Mengi or Bernard. Has barely played for the U23.

Can you read Jose Mourinho's mind and predict the starting XI and substitutes?

From that squad I'd go with:

    Grant
    Laird--Tuanzebe--Mengi--Shaw
    Garner--Levitt
    Lingard--Gomes--Chong
    Greenwood

Subs: Kovar; Bernard, Taylor; Puigmal Galbraith; Ramazani, Mellor

They cannot play worse than the team that played on the weekend did for the first hour and possibly a midfielder may be able to pass a ball to a teammate for a change.

Wise to keep all of Sundays starters in Manchester. The beauty of reaching the knock out stages with 2 games to spare.

I'm looking forward to this match. Good opportunity to see a load of youngsters.

Honestly,I dont think its worth the hassle for a one off game such as this.
    But that's just me.

Why is Mata not in the squad? Also no Jones who could need more minutes although I guess he would get injured.

How embarrassing for Lingard. Fully fit and the only senior player that isn't left behind.

Well he could see it as an embarrassment or an opportunity to find some much needed form.

Expect a backline of Laird, TFM, Tuanzebe, Shaw.

Garner, Grant, Gomes, Greenwood, Chong, Lingard are the other deadcerts to start...

Any guesses on the remaining slot?

I do feel a bit sorry for our massive Kazakh fan base that they won’t get to see our genuinely world class footballers, but it is the right decision to leave De Gea at home.

Lee Grant, Matej Kovar, Max Taylor, Luke Shaw, Axel Tuanzebe, Dylan Levitt, Teden Mengi, DiShon Bernard, Largie Ramazani, Ethan Laird, Ethan Galbraith, Arnau Puigmal, D'Mani Bughail-Mellor, James Garner, Jesse Lingard, Tahith Chong, Angel Gomes, Mason Greenwood.

    Grant

    Levitt Garner
    Chong Lingard Gomes
    Greenwood

    3-1 Lingard(pen.)
300,000 ticket applications, surely they can't all have known Lingard was definitely starting(am I doing it right?) so the we're losing our appeal crowd, in your face

Must remember to have a hanky ready incase Max Taylor gets a few minutes at the end.

Initially MEN paper reported Fosu Mensah is travelling, shame he isn't.

Also it's important for players like Tuanzebe and Shaw to get 90 mins.

    I would love to see

    Kovar
    Larid Tuanzebe Mengi Shaw
    Levitt Garner
    Ramazani Gomes Cong
    Greenwood

It will be Lingard in place of Ramazani and Grant in place of Kovar, which would be shame. I don't see the point of playing Grant who is now more of a GK coach than player.

love it. chance to see the kids play and makes debuts. No real pressure on this game. No young or matic or jones to piss us off. Hope we win but if not at least hope they play well.

Kovar surely starts over Grant, no reason for him not to.

Also, surely this will be the youngest squad ever to play a European game?

I prefer Galbraith and Puigmal to Garner and Levitt myself. I hope those two get some mintues as I expect the latter two to be ahead in the pecking order.

I have cut my day short so I can get home to that game - will be Incredible to see the youngsters against a team like that. I actually think we will win….

Interesting. Why? They've done nothing to merit it.

I just prefer their styles as far as CMs go. I'm not sure either are good enough to make it despite liking them, but I'd still like to see them tomorrow. That said, aside from Mejbri (& maybe Helm, but I want to see more of him before I form an opinion), I'm not confident of any of our young CMs being good enough in the long run, and even in Mejbri's case it's far from certain.

I think Garner and Mejbri are the most obvious midfield contenders for the first team in a long long time. They're superb footballers. Undecided on Levitt. He's a classy player but not quite sure if he's United level. Puigmal and Galbraith haven't a hope in my opinion.

Puigmal played many games as either RB or winger with few games as midfielder. I don't remember him showing anything that puts him ahead of Levitt and Garner.

Galbraith is good though, he has such a good shot and hits it cleanly. Not better than Levitt or Garner but his shooting is very good, generates so much power.
