Because everyone was waiting for it... And sorry, but in the absence of levers it has become rather a boring piece.

In:
Matthijs de Ligt - 22yo - CB - €67m
Sadio Mané - 30yo - LW - €32m
Ryan Gravenberch - 20yo - CM - €18.5m
Noussair Mazraoui - 24yo - RB - free
Joshua Zirkzee - 21yo - CF - returns from loan
Mathys Tel - 17yo - CF - €20m

Out:
Robert Lewandowski - 33yo - CF - €45m
Marc Roca - 25yo - DM - €12m
Omar Richards - 24yo - LB - €8.5m
Lars Lukas Mai - 22yo - CB - €1.6m
Niklas Süle - 26yo - CB - free
Corentin Tolisso - 27yo - CM - free
Chris Richards - 22yo - CB - €12m

Squad
Goal: Neuer, Ulreich, Schenk
CB: de Ligt, Hernandez, Upamecano, Pavard, Nianzou
FB: Davies, Mazraoui, Stanisic, Sarr
AM/CM/DM: Kimmich, Goretzka, Musiala, Gravenberch, Sabitzer, Wanner, Fein
Wing: Mané, Sané, Gnabry, Coman
Striker: Müller, Tel, Vidovic, Zirkzee, Choupo-Moting

possible Lineups:
4231
Neuer
Mazraoui, de Ligt, Hernandez, Davies
Kimmich, Goretzka
Coman, Müller, Mané
Gnabry

433
Neuer
Mazraoui, de Ligt, Hernandez, Davies
Kimmich, Müller, Goretzka
Coman, Gnabry, Mané

Players to watch: Wanner, Musiala

All in all there is a lot of flexibility when it comes to positions and lineups. Multiple Players can play at least two positions and I expect Nagelsmann to field different lineups and also versions of a back three (Hernandez, de Ligt, Upamecano looks class on paper).

Expectations: win Bundesliga, win German Cup, make at least the CL quarters.

Didn't they say they're done spunking big sums on players?
They like to give many lessons in morality and in the end over time they do the same.

They are used to signing players/coaches from rival teams for free or cheap. Then they go out to sign for Europe and pay well, not everything is Germany.

That is their levers: not having ambitious teams in their country and signing their best players for free or at a low price.

Did anyone watch the game against City? Did anything noteworthy happen? What line-up was played? Where did Mane play?
Didn’t watch it but Mané is in Africa collecting his African Footballe of the Year award I believe.
With the ball the lineup was some kind of 4222 according to the Twitter.

I don’t think €20m counts as big per se.
Their net spend is at €70m and will move to €55m with the sale of Richards. It remains to be seen if they sell a further defender *cough* Pavard *cough*.

Not just net spend, but individually looking at de Ligt deal, that's a huge amount and goes against that statement, regardless if he's worth it or not. It's same as when Klopp said, he'd never spend buckets on single player, and then shelled world transfer record for van Dijk and then Alisson. Maybe it's a german thing?

I don’t think Bayern ever said the weren’t going to spend €65m on a player. I mean they were always willing to spend if they saw a necessity: Martinez, Sané, Hernandez…

Is Mane a direct replacement for Lewandowski? I can't see them doing much in Europe without Lewandowski.

These Harry Kane comments are interesting. Kahn and Nagelsmann both referencing him in last few week.

Obviously not for now given Spurs are actually showing good ambition and have a world class manager so might aswell see how it goes but 12 months time will be interesting, he'll have just one year left on his deal and certainly Levy won't be losing him on free transfer that's for sure.

How many goals is he off Jimmy Greaves record at Spurs? Think he'll stay to break that and then move on. If he finally wins a trophy that's a proper legacy to go out on.

Agreed, but sort of ironic coming from a Barca fan.

The quote came during last season, so expectancy was that transfer strategy was going to change from this summer.

I expect us to struggle to really adapt to post-Lewa time, oscillating between trying different slot-in alternatives to directly replace Lewandowski, and formations with no single point man. We'll probably look toothless often enough. Maybe Dortmund even may mount a true challenge for the league title after 10 years. CL no man's land (QF). DFB cup with a random exit at any stage.

Is Müller still going ? Fair fecks to him.
He's only 32
He still has a few games to catch up with Loddar Matthäus, so obviously he's still going ;)
He's the epitome of 'the best ability is availability', you can probably count his injuries as a professional footballer on one hand. If that doesn't change for the worse, i can see him continue to 35 at least.

Its going to be interesting to see how he adapts without Lewy.

It's going to be ok for them, in Germany at least; Dortmund are bottlers and even if they won this Liga, Bayern would just sign their best player and manager for 23-24.

I think they will win the Bundesliga again, but the absence of Lewa without a replacement of a similar caliber likely precludes them from being a true contender for the Champions League.

They had goal incorrectly disallowed for offside.

Not much else I saw in highlights.

Oshimen could come
I dread to think what Napoli would ask for him. He is class though.
Nonetheless, I fully expect Bayern to not sign any more strikers. They are set when Tel becomes official and will play with a fluid front line.

Tel can probably be considered a completed transfer.
Thank you @M4YON for the tweet in the transfer forum.

I want Dortmund to win but then also don't want Nagelsmann to get fired because he's still a potentially great manager. Bayern might still struggle to find Lewandowski's lost goals.

Big talent. Huge loss for Chelsea

It's funny because he wasn't really ever one of the standout kids in our academy. Don't remember there being any outcry when he left. Just some kid in the academy who was poached by another club, which happens all the time. His progression and development has been amazing to see.

It happens all the time, just like Sancho from City to BVB.
