The forgotten man. Liverpool fans were so happy when they 'beat' us to his signature. Dude is a flop so far. If he played for United you'd get weekly reports on his goal drought.
Let players time to adapt to a league and a team. He played 6 matches in a team that did not function very well - than was injured the next 3 matches - played well against Southhampton and assisted the first goal in the last match against Chelsea. He until now only played 335 minutes in the EPL - that is the equivalent of 3.5 matches. Far too early to judge. The forgotten man. Liverpool fans were so happy when they 'beat' us to his signature. It's beyond me that some people refuse to see the difference between real life football and FIFA. The history of football is full of players who needed time to adapt to a new club and league. Just 3 examples from the Bundesliga:The forgotten man. Liverpool fans were so happy when they 'beat' us to his signature. Dude is a flop so far. If he played for United you'd get weekly reports on his goal drought.
This.Ridiculous to call players like Firmino, Depay, Darmian, etc flops after only a few months.
Yup.Ridiculous to call players like Firmino, Depay, Darmian, etc flops after only a few months.
Are people really calling Darmian a flop?Ridiculous to call players like Firmino, Depay, Darmian, etc flops after only a few months.
Yup, he's looked back to his normal self since Klopp took over. Probably happy to not be playing out wide. The timing is a bit weird as well considering how well he has played in the last two games as well.
Great thread, OP.
A couple of weeks ago I saw claims that he would walk into the first XIs of Barca, Real and BayernAre people really calling Darmian a flop?
Rojo and Blind were called flops on here before they had even played a game for us.Are people really calling Darmian a flop?
He just needs one good game, maybe score a goal, and he'll be back to being world class. That's how this place works.A couple of weeks ago I saw claims that he would walk into the first XIs of Barca, Real and Bayern
It's usual Caf. Opinions tend to be very exaggerated.Darmian starts his MUFC career really well....signing of the summer!
Has been struggling since....he's a flop!
Let's give all these players some time to adjust, before calling them flops.
He is one of the best RB's right now. He has been criticized because he can't do the job thar other players in a team should do.A couple of weeks ago I saw claims that he would walk into the first XIs of Barca, Real and Bayern
Aye. It's frustrating, but I guess it's very common among football (or sport! in general) supporters. It's usual Caf. Opinions tend to be very exaggerated.
You serious? Theres constantly stories on Depay! How other players at the club don't like him, how Giggs have to tell him to change his lifestyle, how he's a flop. Just today theres a story about how Real Madrid are going to try save him from is Old Trafford nightmare.Tbf Depay has struggled too and isn't getting talked about much either. Both are young and the fees are fairly standard these days, so I don't think expectations are too high.
True. This is partly why I started this thread. The media and opposition fans are labeling Depay a flop, but nothing is said about Firmino at all. Imagine he was a United playerYou serious? Also Depay has 4 goals and 4 assists, he hasn't been that bad!
I think that has more to do with narrative. We signed Firmino for more money but it wasn't really clear what gap he was filling. It was more of an 'adding quality for the sake of needing more quality' signing.True. This is partly why I started this thread. A flop already? The forgotten man. Liverpool fans were so happy when they 'beat' us to his signature. Dude is a flop so far. If he played for United you'd get weekly reports on his goal drought.
Your tagline couldn't be more aptA flop already?
The only sure flop right now is this Thread. Good one
He didn't play much due to injury, but yeah he was poor under Rodgers. If this is him playing better than before, he must have been really really bad under Rodgers.
Idiots still gonna idiot though.Ridiculous to call players like Firmino, Depay, Darmian, etc flops after only a few months.
Thank you for your contribution!A flop already?

I don't think you even need to hit the 10-game mark these days.A player is now a flop after 10 odd games in a new league in a new country? Odd thread.
Comes with age. These rash youngsters have the patience of a turnip.Aye. It's frustrating, but I guess it's very common among football (or sport! in general) supporters.
I'm guilty of knee-jerking every now and then as well. More then, than now, I might add . Though I'd usually give myself a bit more time to calm down, become less emotional and reasoned before I post something I don't really mean.
