First ever tifo at Old Trafford against Lyon on Thursday

Has this got anything to do with that bell end Tufty who was involved with the flags?

“Highway to Hell” with a huge 100 ft devil and flames behind him. Then play AC/DC’s song with fireworks and flares then see if that doesn’t get everyone pumped up.

Looks like Real Madrid are having one, which makes me think it’s more of a UEFA or one of the sponsors ideas more so than INEOS.

Did Villa have one as well? I didn’t watch the game tonight.
Ye villa had one.

Haven't United fans already done this on numerous occasions? For e.g. We''ll never die, Standards, 20le etc. Not sure what's the difference is between those 'banners' vs a tifo.

Unfortunately the thing that makes these good in European football is a really loud ultra section behind it. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen one done that isn’t behind a goal for this reason. It’s just going to be weird.

Yes Stretford End Flags are behind the design - although apparently Bruno has also okayed it

Ye I'm not sure when a surfer flag/banner becomes a 'tifo'

Sounds like this will be bigger than anything before though

Tifo's hang from the top of the stand and are draped down from there rather than a surfer flag.

Either way, with it being United, it's going to be monumentally shite.

Giant copy of Sancho's contract being ripped up?

Its this, hung off the North Stand

It’s not a tifo, casemiro just threw his shirt into the crowd

I read about this earlier, and at no point did it explain what a "tifo" was. I still don't know, but guess it's a gigantic banner of some sort?
Tifo is just the Italian name for a concerted, choreographed or prepared fan performance in the curve, really. In Germany it's called "Choreo". Doesn't have to be a just banner. So yes, United fans have done stuff like this before.

Everyone who I've spoke to that has seen it says it looks shite, which I for one am absolutely shocked about.

It's good that expectations are low - maybe we'll be pleasantly surprised!

Onana "why is it just a long list of names and why is my name on it?"
Club security staff member "It's actually a list of the latest round of redundancies"
Onana "oh, wait why is it getting further away? Where are you all carrying me?"
*Crowd erupts into cheers*

I’m still confused why this is going in front of the north stand and not the Stretford end. Cynically I’m thinking just for more tv coverage.

Is Tifo the latest hipster craze? Like watching stats instead of games, “dynamism” and managers under 30?

I imagine this will raise morale and lead to a match winning performance.

I'm guessing that the usual one will still be in the Stretford End.
