First ever tifo at Old Trafford against Lyon on Thursday

Presentation is important. It won't look as good from some shitty phone camera with a jittery hand. It looks cool.

Looks fantastic, seems this was a big success as well. Good stuff.

Slightly reminiscent of The North Face slogan Never Stop Exploring

Except they've changed it to We Play Different

United could steal that one too

I yearn for the BvB level tifos. The "BELIEVE" from 07/08 (or was it 08/09?) was the closest we got and that gave me goosebumps when I was watching the game, we need to try to bring something like that back.

Anyway the design on our flags is actually quite cool so it's all good.

Nice! Still think we need something on the whistle that isn’t ’glory glory…’

Take a leaf out of Rangers book and get the place bouncing at full time.

I've heard from a club insider, that this is the official image.
Chosen to strike fear into our enemies.

Fan designed and made Tifo’s can be amazing. I’m not sure who’s designing these, but even if they are fan made, they do have the tacky, printed look of club made banners, especially when compared to what Legia Warsaw etc put on. Still, at least it’s better than Arsenal’s attempt.

This is very much a club idea - they consult 'Stretford End Flags' apparently but I doubt they have that much input

SEF is essentially a club mouth piece regardless.
What I expect happens is that the club present 2 or 3 approved designs to Tufty and a couple of his crew to pick one

Then the club can announce that the tifo was made in conjunction with season ticket holders

Strongly feel the Tifo should be over the Stretty to be aesthetically correct. Sticking it infront of the SAF stand gives it that much more “corporate approved” air…. Though tbf our attempts at these kinds of things have always had the feel of a large brand blandly appropriating a grassroots trend, at least since the “BELIEVE” days.

Few English clubs are any good at it these days in fairness

Think it's for the camera angle?

I wish they cycled through alternative iconic United moments, like this one:

I had no idea Tufty and SEF were still a thing.

Same. Haven't heard mention of him/them in ages. I remember him being a figure of hate on other forums I used to frequent.

Seen as someone after a bit of attention and fame if you can call it that, and getting into bed with the club at a time when anti-Glazer sentiment was strong.

Allsorts of accusations of him not being a proper United fan as I think he supported Runcorn Linnets too, and as it's not too far away from there they were calling him a scouse this or that.

It's mostly down to H&S regs that a lot of countries are more lax on - even relatively small banners need club permission

A proper fan organised tifo should be on the Stretford End - like you say this is more for global branding and the TV audience than the fans at Old Trafford

The font on these kind of reminds me of another clothing brand with the same initials - No Fear. Not an exact match but along the same lines.

Can we stop these now?

Just about got away with it v Lyon but last nights has now gone fully club corporate - crap.

Isn't a tifo when all the spectators hold up individual pieces and it forms a pattern? Is a banner really a tifo?
