Yes, but as I said, I’m aware it might just be my bias talking because I was so excited when we bought him.
Patrick Dorgu numbers but nobody truly gives a feck if he flops since he plays for Liverpool
No sensationalist weekly features or character attacks from the likes of Souness of Carragher
And Dorgu was injured for 3 months.
Dorgu got goals and assists against the likes of Villa, City, Arsenal and Brighton too.
Wirtz was doing it against the might of Wolves and Burnley.
I see he has his season rated as a B on the BBC.....seems a bit generous. He might be better next season, but I would not put that as a B for his first year.
If he is a B, then any signing that wasn’t a complete rip off and hugely disappointing would be an A. Great system.

There has to be some account taken how much the player cost. I can appreciate Ekitike being an A, but Wirtz really below expectations for all that money. By that measure all of our signings were a B grade and above.

If Wirtz is a B rated signing, then our front 3 this season are A++'s and even our signings like Antony and Hojlund in their first seasons were easily A's.

That article has strong grades for all the signings. As has been the narrative all year, the discourse is on what they could be instead of what they have been this season. Wirtz = D, Frimpong = F, Kerkez = D, Ekitike = B, and Isak = F is the right answer.

Wirtz and Kekez rated B is a big fat joke. But I do hope they continue to think they are great players and keep playing them. We know how that will end up. Wirtz did not even start for the final game against Brentford.

Reminds me of a less entertaining, poor man's Ozil. Ozil could be similarly flaky but at least he had wow moments technique. Wirtz knits it together well and has great technique too, but he just goes through too many matches without doing anything that noteworthy.

Actually thought he was ok today but, then again, a lot of the time I watch him for Pool I feel the same. Like I think he has become underrated but when you look at his price tag he's been diabolical compared to very deserved expectations. I keep hearing about 'technique' but for me the issue is exactly that. He's struggling physically in the PL but technically he's, at this point, very obviously behind the likes of Silva and Mata, which makes the PL even tougher for him. The way people talk about his technique you'd swear he was Iniesta reborn. I still think he can come good but he'll never justify the price tag for me. Could see Bayern buying him for 70 odd million in a couple of years and him being very good there.
