Florian Wirtz | Der Fußballgott

You were on course for a 90 points season when we beat you 3:0. Only after that, the infights started and the performances detoriated. Up until then, you were much better than the previous season. The season after, you were a motivated as hell after finishing a season titleless for the first time since probably 2012. It still took you four games to register the first win against us and that was the first one Wirtz was missing if I'm not mistaken.

I also don't get why Atalanta counts in your opinion but Leipzig and Stuttgart don't. We were a shadow of ourselves in that final collectively. They weren't better than Stuttgart that season.

And also from a logical perspective, Wirtz is a player for tight spaces, it doesn't make much sense that teams that press him should be his weakness?
Wirtz was playing in the first Champions League Game against Bayern. He got injured in the game itself at a point when the tie was already decided.

I was not talking about pressing, I was talking about intensity. You're not debating that Bayern plays with a different intensity in a knock out champions league tie vs an ordinary league game?

Fair enough, the overall point still stands

No. Are you debating that those matches were no ordinary league games? ;)

I'm suggesting that the intensity in the average premier league game is higher than in the average Bundesliga game, and that Wirtz has had difficulties with Leverkusen in high intensity games as well.

I seriously wish your club gagged this utter embarrassment that is Hoeness.
Sometimes we laugh, sometimes we shake our heads and sometimes we are embarrassed.
Most fans are happy he is not really involved in our daily business anymore.

But he made our club what it is today and achieved "i dont care, i say everything i want status".

So wirtz has his best game and Isak scores in the match in which slot said no more Salah

Against probably one of the poorest displays they’ll race this season. WH were awful. No doubt they’ll turn into attack dogs versus United

But I can't think of any average Bundesliga game in which Wirtz struggled. He struggled when our team was dominated.

There is no player who has never had difficulties in high intensity games, not even Messi. The question is if he has had more difficulties than others and there's been no pattern of that in his career.

Carragher

'‘The best way to explain it is from a Liverpool perspective, we're delighted Wirtz looks like the real deal now’'.

Now that he's turned a corner and shown us all that he's a world class talent after all, I look forward to seeing his goal/assist on Wednesday.

Oh just feck off at this point. This is worse than some of the political journalists.

Our precious gemütlichkeit butterfly with wings as delicate as freshly fallen snow, crushed under the dogs-shit smeared boot heel of Tommy Robinson's Premier League.

He's just a bit shit, you got it wrong, it's not a big thing, let it go.

How can an artiste be expected to express themselves surrounded by brutes who spend more time training headers and throw ins than they do caressing the ball with their boots? Savages who think studs are for shins rather than scorpion kicks. Like playing chess in a pig sty. Wirtz threads needles with his boot in a league where rondos mean kicking it long and seeing how long it can stay in the air from subsequent headers. Where he has that je-ne-sais-qouis I literally don't know what most premiership players are trying to do with the ball, except to say it's not something one can speak of in polite company.

Hopefully mr Wirtz can prove to be the civilising influence on this league that it is crying out for.

 well done.

Jesus Christ, what a load of bollocks. Pires was 6'2 and could actually physically impose himself in the league, beyond obviously being a great technician. And other diminutive players like David Silva and Bernardo Silva have been great in the league, because their intelligence and technique have been at such a high level that their lack of standout physical traits was negated.

When will everyone accept that Wirtz simply is not very good at football? hehe

Florian has it so rough. The poor lad is on 250 thousand Great British pounds a week and has to be subjected to playing against sides like Brentford. Maybe next week we’ll have an article written about the length of the grass on pitches and how it’s affected his ability to provide any end product. Or better yet, maybe after he completes five passes in a single game, every Bundesliga fan can re-enter this thread to tell us that the German Robert Snodgrass was worth half the national GDP of a small island.

I’m not sure if you’re being serious here? Pires never “physically imposed” anything on anyone. He was tall but a lanky streak of piss. Very good footballer, mind you.

As for Wirtz, having a bad debut season (and it’s not yet a bad half season) then going on to become a top PL player is hardly an outrageous scenario. It happens all the time.

Stop it! Just, please, for the love of God! We are very much allowed, in a United forum, to talk badly about a slightly shorter, albeit not lanky streak of piss. Let's all rejoice in the failure of Liverpool's signings thus far, and long may it continue.

At this point he is a shoe-in for the PL player of the year award. Might have to get a couple more goals in the next two CL matches before he can be considered for the Ballon d'Or, though.

I think people have said similar stuff about Joao Felix.
This classical number 10 type of player seems to be prone to flopping at big clubs in general. James and Coutinho are others that come to my mind, who flopped after transfers to bigger clubs.

I wouldn’t consider James as a flop, he has class his debut season.

I’m 100% on board with rejoicing in his failure so far. Just think it’s a bit stupid to be openly mocking opinions about how it might be slightly premature to write him off completely. So long as he remains shite, we should all absolutely take great pleasure in what’s happening. And long may it last!
