For every Evra there’s a Darmian
For every Vidic there’s a Bailly
For every Mane there’s a Downing
For every De Gea there’s a Taibi

There’s so many transfers who when they enter the clubs are at a certain level. Some turn out to be amazing others complete flops.

Can you think of others?

I see what you did there. Have a

This thread does sort of make a point I tried articulate during the transfer window. For example, people get angry that we didn't sign Rodri when he was at Vilarreal, and complain that we'll will come back in for Tielemans when he's valued at £90m, are probably the same people who said the same thing about Oliver Torres/Julian Weigl/Juan Manuel Iturbe etc.

It would make more sense if we were talking about players that were signed around the same time, such as Ronaldo and Kleberson both being signed as future prospects with Ronaldo making it and Kleberson fading into obscurity.

Edit: For every Van Nistelrooy there is a Forlan

What happened with Torres? Just looked him up and saw that he moved to Sevilla recently for about 12m euros, which is absolutely nothing these days. Has his star faded that much already? Looked like a player with excellent technique and passing ability when he was a hot prospect a few years ago.

What I'm saying is we should take a punt on him!
