Meh, it's difficult to be too impressed by him IMO.

That French team has insane quality and the depth means that a couple of players being unavailable doesn't seem to make a difference. Winning a World Cup is great regardless, but they were always favourites based on the talent in the side.

Done. Bit surprised Martial was called up with him only just returning from injury and being out for a while.

Deschamps really does hate Laporte.
 
Laporte should declear for Spain. Deschamps is messing him about.
 
Sidibe's and Kurzawa's inclusion are also a bit of a joke.
 
Personally think it's bollocks that he's only been back from injury for 2 seconds and he's already been carted off to international duty, I'll be livid if he re-injures himself. I'm sure Martial will be happy to be getting some recognition again though.
 
Ben Yedder has 26 goals in all comps, way more than anyone but Mbappe on that list and he's not called up.
Giroud should be like 5th striker option below Ben Yedder,Lacazette,Haller and Pléa but he always makes the list for some reason.
And seriously Laporte and Lenglet are the two best French CBs this season, neither of them is on the list.

Embarrassing really, Deschamps will end up like Low, or worse.

All things considered he is the current world cup holder. He must know something we don't.
 
He is just coming off yet another injury. I would like him to rest

From Martial's pov, he has to cement his place, any chance he gets. He doesn't have the liberty to say he's not fully fit. He also had to withdraw from the last squad through injury.

He has a quality team that work well together but are still limited by the manager. Just like how we finished 2nd last year but were limited by Mourinho.
 
Pavard is playing a horrible Bundesliga season, still will be nominated every time, because he won the World Cup with them.

The people who kept saying Deschamps didn't fancy Martial and him not going to the WC wasn't due to Mourinho were mad.

Sure Martial wasn't an automatic starter for Deschamps but he'd always pick him in the squad. Martial started getting dropped from the French team when Mourinho started benching him for those long spells. Prior to that Martial was a regular I'm the French squad under Deschamps. Without playing Deschamps was always going to drop Martial especially with how stacked France are in attack. Unless you're Olivie Giroud, play time was required to be picked.

Mourinho did screw over Martial and very horribly.
 
Umtiti is literally Lenglet's sub in Barca. I mean I don't watch them but that's pretty telling, no?

Umtiti started in Euro and World Cup finals for France and until he knees problems, he was the best CB in la Liga and Lenglet was his backup...

Lenglet only starts with Barcelona because Sam isn't fully fit...Umtiti was one of the best if not the best CB in the world last year...
