We've paid more for this guy than City did for Bernardo Silva...

Do we even know what his best position is? He seems to lack the confidence and aggression of an elite #8, and also the intelligence and calmness of a good #6. Obviously he's not technically gifted enough to be a #10. What do we do with him?
 
Season 1 adaptation to the league out of the way now. Time to deliver or ship out end of season otherwise he will turn into deadwood fc.

Should sell him ASAP and hope someone is stupid enough to give us a decent fee.
 
Came into his own in the Champions League last year. Hopefully he can step up the pace in the Premier League and stop panicking under pressure. He's dynamic and passes forward between the lines well at times, something we miss otherwise.
 
Guy needs to start living up to his price tag, don't see us bringing the midfielders we need so our current crop have to really step it up.

There could be 101 family/personal reasons as to why the wedding wasn't completed earlier. Sam Luckhurst is a general cnut so I wouldn't go by his shite before forming conclusions.
 
So he is missing the pre-season tour because he has decided to get married next week ?

Utterly pathetic if that is really true. But, as is the way with our club these days, we paid so much for him and he gets such huge wages, he can basically do what he likes and we just nod and smile.

What do you want him to do cancel his wedding or rearrange to get married in Australia so as he can train. He can get into condition here, it's not the end of the world.

He's been training all week. The likely scenario is he'll miss a few days but join back up later this week so he'll probably miss the Saturday game against Perth Glory but should be ready for the next one against Leeds.

Well yeah, or maybe just don't arrange something like this at this time of year, he could have done it last month, it's hardly unreasonable, especially after the waste of wages he was last season.

If any one needs a good pre season it's Fred.
 
He definitely did get married last summer. His Instagram is full of posts about it and you can't miss the wedding ring in every non-football picture since then.

Of all our players, he is probably the one with most to prove.

It is typical of the complacency pervading our club.

But yeah, no big deal.
 
I have some hope that he will be a lot better this season. He has shown glimpses of quality with passing through lines and beating a man in midfield. Both good skills in transitions. If he can do that more consistently this season he will be very useful for us. We do need him to step up, that's for sure.

It's not a big deal. Like I said he's going to miss a few days and the good thing is he was training all last week so it's not like he's going to come into pre-season totally unfit.

He's allowed to have a life outside of football.
 
Fred is done at the club. Missing the start of the tour so he can get married, apparently again? I'm sure Ole wanted to test him and see if he is ready to sacrifice enough in order to succeed at United.

Obviously the Brazilian isn't the brightest character if he thinks something like this is a worthy excuse to miss a vital part of our pre-season, where every day counts in order to create chemistry and bonds between the players, whilst working on any new system Solskjaer would be hoping to implement.

Pereira was given a new contract for a reason and I believe he would be in front of Fred in the pecking order. It's insane how shambolic our whole midfield is, won't surprise me if we start the campaign with Matic and McTominay in a double pivot or play 3 at the back since we have about 6 CBs.

Not aware of the circumstances but if it’s a family issue or something out of his control fair enough but if it’s getting married or any sort of similar messing about them massively dissapointed in him and club. He more so than any one should be on tour he has great potential and could be a massive player for us next season. Needs to focus on his football 100% if possible. Obviously saying all this with the massive caveat no one knows why he’s not there he could have a family member I’ll etc which is understandable. I like the lad think he’s got potential

I remember reading he got Married last year. And like you've pointed out, he posted pics on his Instagram about it. Something doesn't add up here.
 
Or else he has a move to another club all set but we told him to wait until we sign a replacement (conspiracy theory)

The timing actually makes sense, in that he would have hoped to be with the Brazil squad this summer, hence arranging a wedding after the tournament has finished - and if he had been selected, he would have time off, like Sanchez.

But WTF - he also got married last year!!! This just got interesting...
