Why does this keep happening?

It's not that he's not good at them... He's actively shocking at them... And yet he keeps on throwing in corners and free kicks and shooting without anyone telling him to stop??

He must be amazing at them in training, but even if he is, he's so bad at them in actual games that surely Ole or a senior member of the team would tell him to step aside by now?

I don't get it either. He had about one good one with his previous team and now we are giving them to him? Reminds me of Lukaku when we were giving him these free kicks when I had literally only saw socre once from them for Everton.

Isn’t this every member of our team? I can’t remember the last time we scored from a corner and the last tike we scored from a free kick before Rashford’s at Chelsea.

Mata and Pereira are ok-ish at corners but they are not always on the pitch.

We have no regulars who take decent corners. Absolutely no one can bend it like Beckham.

His set piece delivery is generally quite good. Hes just not great at shooting. Dont think it helps when hes having to have a debate with Pereira before he takes it.

Look at the chance he laid on for maguire just before half time. Free header six yards out and header is straight at the keeper.

Easy to remember the shit shot on 90 minutes but hes put some good deliveries in

I dont think he is good at them, maybe for the United standard he is, but if you watch other teams, most have at least one player better at them.

It is just the state we are in that we dont have a set piece specialist. In general, we dont have a passing and crossing machine, so not surprised.

Beard man on the right, serene in his confidence in his team's safety from this corner.
Gentleman in blue cap may have United shirt on underneath, disagrees with decision to put Phil Jones on corner.

His corners are not to bad, not Beckam standard but as is pointed out who else is better and plays regularly - BUT free kicks involving a shot on goal WTF were we thinking today letting him take that on. His shots are regularly high wide and embarrassing. I didnt get that, where the feck was Rashford or mata.

He must be banging them in at training of something as other than that the only reason I can think of is Ole would rather the shortest probably weakest player isn’t tasked with being in the box or covering incase of a break so safest place on corners is him taking them. Some of his corners aren’t reallly that bad but freekick just nah

We literally have someone who’s only discernible skill is taking set pieces, and Fred still somehow takes them. We’ve yet to offer any threat from a corner or wide free kick this season, and yet set pieces are being scored against us week in, week out.

I dont think his corner delivery is that bad tbh. A lot better and more consistent than many we've seen over the years for us. Unfortunately, we have nobody who can actually attack them and we're useless at attacking the ball in both ends. Nobody knows how to score from a crossing set piece.

Tbf, I thought he'd balloon it over so I guess hitting the wall is an improvement.

Baby steps.

That was one of the most bizarre things I’ve ever seen on a football pitch

Cannot wait for Bruno to come in and feck him off them.

But then again Ole will probably let them argue it out amongst themselves and Lingy will end up taking them.

I’m actually fuming. Seeing Mata’s face, knowing he wants it. feck.

Looks like it was an instruction from the bench. Mata was repeatedly looking there and saying something. He should have taken that freekick.

It looked like the bench told him not to? He looked pretty pissed off.

Just ridiculous really.
Yep, it was a shocking instruction. I still can’t believe it. I don’t care what Fred has done in training, how many free-kicks has Mata scored for us? How about his entire career?

And it literally could not have been in a better position. Just insane.
