I hope we are confident but It feels like everything around the club right now, our performances, transfers etc. is more like a first interview with Ronaldo and Gary Neville.

Are you feeling confident ?

No understand… sorry

One things that does not sit right is that quite a lot it has been said that he does not want to join United and would prefer a UCL club like Chelsea, lets see whats happens but that part is a little worrying if you ask me
yeah but we have not heard anything like that from the player. all of this is coming from sources. meanwhile United are quite obv still there. you have to assume as much as we think we are run by muppets ETH would have moved on from this if he was hearing something different from the player.

This time next week it'll be the usual : United remain confident a deal can be done.
Be surprised if anything remotely final will be concluded this week.

What could we have realistically done regarding Ronaldo? The guys a mercenary and narcissistic cnut. I can’t deny getting a bit Dewey eyed when he made that stadium entrance on his second debut but I never wanted him back. That ship had clearly alteadysailed.

And Arnautovic? What’s the point in holding onto that? We didn’t sign him. Someone obviously didn’t do their due diligence but it was all over almost before it even got started. We don’t know and probably never will know the real truth behind it all. The important thing is we didn’t.

Onwards and (hopefully) upwards dude.
I think that's a really ... positive (some would argue naive!) way of looking at our shitshow of a window so far so fair play, glass half full and all that. I obviously disagree massively.

There were reports they did get into contact and were told to do one
That'd be hilarious but I don't think they would be that unprofessional. Most likely went down like this:

Boehly: We would like to sign Frenkie and would be willing to pay his owed wages on top of what Barca wants.
Agent: Thank you very much for your call! Yes, my client is interested in a big CL club in London. We'll keep in touch!
Talksport: Chelsea confident of HIJACKING Manchester United's move for Frenkie De Jong

A few days later.....

Boehly: Hello?

I’ve got both bases covered for the next week…

You could never know what it's like
Your mes que un club sounding just like tripe
And there's a sad stained brand that is left of you
You'll wind up with the debt you hide behind the levers you use

And did you think these fools could never win?
Well look at us, we’re coming back again
We live the life of muppets in a simple way
And if you need to know while we’re still standing you just fade away

Don't you know we’ve signed Frankie when it looked we never did
Looking like a true survivor, feeling like a little kid
we’ve signed Frankie after all this time
Picking up the pieces of our club without you on our mind

We’ve signed Frenkie, yeah, yeah, yeah
We’ve signed Frenkie, yeah, yeah, yeah

Once we never could hope to win
Frenkie starting down the road refusing us again
Threats Laporta made were meant to cut us down
And as this saga‘s just a circus we’re all muppets by now

Don't you know we’ve signed Frankie when it looked we never did
Looking like a true survivor, feeling like a little kid
We’re still standing after all this time
Picking up the pieces of our club without you on our mind

We’ve signed Frenkie, yeah, yeah, yeah
We’ve signed Frenkie, yeah, yeah, yeah

Don't you know we’ve signed Frankie when it looked we never did
Looking like a true survivor, feeling like a little kid
We’ve signed Frenkie after all this time
Picking up the pieces of our club without you on my mind
We’ve signed Frenkie, yeah, yeah, yeah
We’ve signed Frenkie, yeah, yeah, yeah
We’ve signed Frenkie, yeah, yeah, yeah
We’ve signed Frenkie, yeah, yeah, yeah

Petty back-up:

We heard that you’re settled down
That you made a deal and you're staying now
We heard that your „dreams“ came true
Guess they gave you pay cuts, we didn't give to you
Old Frankie, why were you so shy?
Ain't like you playing centre back or hide in the stands

We hate to turn up out of the blue, uninvited
But we couldn't stay away, we couldn't fight it
We had hoped you'd see ten Haags face
And that you'd be reminded that for us, it isn't over

Never mind, we‘ll find someone like you
We wish nothing but the worst for you, too
"Don't forget me, " ten Haag begged
I remember you said
"Sometimes it lasts for muppets, but sometimes it hurts instead"
"Sometimes it lasts for muppets, but sometimes it hurts instead"
You know how the time flies
Only yesterday was the time of our lives
We were on the front page of this summer thread
Bound by the surprise of future glory days

We hate to turn up out of the blue, uninvited
But we couldn't stay away, we couldn't fight it
We had hoped you'd see ten Haags
And that you'd be reminded that for us, it isn't over

Never mind, we’ll find someone like you
We wish nothing but the worst for you, too
"Don't forget me, " ten Haag begged
I remember you said
"Sometimes it lasts for muppets, but sometimes it hurts instead"

Nothing compares, no Rabiot or mothers
2k threads and levers, they're memories made
Who would have known how bittersweet this would taste?

Never mind, we’ll find someone like you
We wish nothing but the worst for you
"Don't forget me," ten Haag begged
I remember you said
"Sometimes it lasts for muppets, but sometimes it hurts instead"

Never mind, we’ll find someone like you
We wish nothing but the worst for you, too
"Don't forget me, " ten Haag begged
I remember you said
"Sometimes it lasts for muppets, but sometimes it hurts instead"
"Sometimes it lasts for muppets, but sometimes it hurts instead"

I’m waiting for Ben Jacobs to confirm this. You see he gets his briefs directly from the Chelsea owner

The Chelsea reddit "daily chat thread" is claiming his missus has started following Manchester IG influencers?

And i thought we were weird.

Yes pretty much.
If this actually happens, which I believe it will, I hope all the turds nailing ETH and Murtough to the cross will be big enough to admit our team will have played an almost perfect hand. Persistent. Determined and discreet. A big step forward.
Even if they get it done. There is no way this was done in the best way. We still missed out on targets due to waiting, still got our names dragged through the mud, still doing last minute shopping for another winger and striker etc, not getting any meaningful money from out goings etc.

Plan B would be horrible but Plan A looks fantastic. Rabiot with the right partner could work really well.
Not sure how I feel about Rabiot. I think he could do ok as a 6 for us, but would rather De Jong there of course. As an 8, Rabiot wouldn't be as creative as someone like Bruno or Eriksen. Though who knows if a De Jong, Fernandes, Eriksen midfield would even work. I'd like to think it could.

If we can pull this off, a midfield of De Jong and Rabiot is a seriously press resistant partnership. It’s going to be a mammoth difference from McFred are the complete opposite of press resistant.

I do think with FDJ and Rabiot we would see a major improvement in the defence as they won’t get exposed by mistakes created in our midfield.
FDJ-Rabiot-Eriksen would be a brilliant CM I reckon. I'd shed a tear or two in happiness should we pull this one off against all odds.

Three pushovers, you'd get destroyed by anyone with a bit of intensity.
Rabiot isn't a push over and the point of FDJ and Eriksen is they are reasonably press resistant. I personally think we'd feck most people on the counter it they pressed them 3.

That depends on how you view things I guess. Thankfully I choose not to think like this. C’est la vie and all that.

If FDJ comes then I really don’t see how United have put a foot wrong. We’ve made no noise, neither has the player. ETH has obviously known FDK’s position or we wouldn’t have waited for him. If he signs, job well done in my opinion chap.

And regarding the winger and striker. What would you have done? Who would you have gone for? And how do you know we still won’t sign someone?

United minus the Glazers
So now we’re 90% sure we’ve got FDJ? This transfer saga is as prolonged as the Sancho drama a couple of seasons ago

Rabiot isn't a pushover. I don't rate him very highly bit he's better than what we have and certainly not easy to get the ball from. FdJ isn't a pushover either. Eriksen might be but he's good enough technically to be really press resistant.

Does lack a proper DM but then it wouldn't be easy to get the ball off in my opinion, also get the impression doesn't like playing with one which I will admit is risky

Ok let's see if Frankie gets rested for Barca's game. Wouldn't want injuries to hold up the transfer to United eh?
