Is nobody wondering how an offer expires and what it actually means? Did we set a deadline which has passed? If so, what makes him think we will go back? When did this offer expire? Makes no sense and throws the reliability of these journos into doubt.
Pretty sure its a weird way of saying they’re offering a new deal to the player and the old one isn’t on the table anymore.

Quite a promising update IMO

If the player has needs he wants fulfilled then he's surely open to the discussion right?
If United are still bothering to do this, it means the player has given assurances that he wants to come. In other words, it’s only a matter of time before he becomes a United player
Yes boys, a wall of positivity to repel the naysayers and doomers!
You both make great points, this is still very much on!

I've never heard that one before. Does it make sense, really?

Besides, this journo is saying it's the offer to the player. Is there a time limit on these things? I doubt it.

Think I'll wait for Ornstein etc to confirm.
I would imagine there are deadlines for deals to be completed. 1 month to the day of this report is way too much of a coincidence to not be a thing. If you are making any big purchase, it is common practice to put expiry dates in the offer/agreement if it isn't closed. 1 month later seems reasonable enough to close a deal with a player.

I think we've had assurances from the beginning... just Barca playing hard ball over the wages and the sorts. Depends on how desperate we get as to whether we pay the wages ourselves

Would sort of tie in with all that talk about United 'coming back in with one more final offer to get the deal done'

This is where Chelsea can launch a gazumping sneak attack as we are in the "prepare" phase.
Oh of course... they've been sat there thinking to themselves "Oh lets just wait until Uniteds deal expires before we make our move"

Least we get the whole fun of considering a deal, preparing a deal, booting up the fax machine, counting out the available funds, submitting a deal, then back to where we were

Basically we need to agree a new deal with Barca it seems, which would be done in minutes if the terms are still acceptable to both sides.
Ffs totally different context to the first tweet. Pure clickbaiters

Gonna have to pay him Ronaldo level wages or even more imo to make a move worth it for him. He's basically forfeiting any chance at trophies for 2-3 years. Are United fans happy to pay a player being forced out that much?
Have you seen the state of our team? Of course we'd be happy to have him.

I should think so

I kind of read it as United's way of saying "Okay we know we are shit and can't afford to fail this deal, so we concede that we need to throw more money down and make some promises"

feck knows how you guys remain so positive this will be done. De Kraan's words are the offer has expired and we would have to construct a new offer, not that we will be, or are doing...

From what I've seen over the last 3 months, it looks to me like he can't wait for 1st Sept to come quick enough to resume his career in Barcelona without the pressure from them to leave or reduce.

I still reckon he would be here by now if he really wanted to be.

Just like he isn’t winning any trophies at Barca. In fact he isn’t even going to get much playing time either. And most likely isn’t even going to get paid. Great prospect. What a lovely club.

Welcome song for FDG (apologies to the Communards)

The FDJ Ballard of Barcelona

"Oh Frenkie.... where are you?...."Oh Frenkie where are you?..."Oh Frenkie..... you can't treat us this way"

"This is Frenkie calling ... just p**s off and stop bothering me".

"Oh but Frenkie... we need you, can't you see we cannot win a match, we need you to come and help us wallow in the sh** our owners, managers, training staff, players, ground staff, tea ladies and stewards.... have created... you can't treat us this way

"We love you Frenkie"
