Surely this is bullshit.

Every club from Norwich to Newcastle to Man city would go for Frenkie de Jong at 50 m euros
It probably is bullshit but you have to consider he’s on what 250-300k a week and will only chose a “top team”.

Norwich aren’t paying him 300k a week, and what’s the point in Newcastle bidding if he won’t go there anyway.

Depends what his wages are really. He was on £300k a week but I think he's taken a pay cut or two since then hasn't he? Let's say you could get him for €50m and £200k a week it starts to be appealing I think.

Have any of those hyped Ajax players been unquestioned success elsewhere?

You mean the old generation that won the ucl in 1995 and the early 80 ones or the current crop?
The recent crop, Donny, Ziyech, De Jong, De Ligt.

Tadic being their best player in that period often gets forgotten.

De ligt has been pretty good i think though not an unquestionable success as you said.

Yeah tadic was great shame he got going pretty late in his career.

He's talented but I'm not sure De Jong is capable of passing to himself.

It is a minute long video :P

But seriously there are just rumors now. My issue is we all know Barca NEED money... why not bid?
Just watched it( was in the middle of something before, sorry) it says it's not true though.

Barca can be pretty sketchy so if they want de Jong to stay they will keep him, the only case seems to be the club actively want to get rid of him which seems to be happening in some ways as xavi doesn't particularly like him.

If we want him that's our best hope.

No chance we’ll be able to get him. Any half-decent player won’t be touching us with a fecking pole nowadays!

Any choice with Chelsea, City, Liverpool etc and we’re going home empty handed!

Not with his friend VDB getting mistreated. I'm sure he's not getting positive stories about United

this can't be legit that he's available for 50m Euros....an absolute no brainer to spend that on him

we would have to be MENTAL not to get involved for this kid

If he’s available for 50m we have to be in for him.

Ziyech won the champions league last season

For £33 million he certainly has been a success
These questions are weird.

It's like people only consider them a "success" if they go from the best player at Ajax to the best player at X top club.

De Ligt, Ziyech, De Jong have all done reasonably well at their clubs. I wouldn't consider any of them flops (except VDB of course)

Hell, even Veltman has done well for Brighton.

Trouble is the useless gits are struggling to register players as it is.
Thats why we should do a two for one and just take Dembele too. I watched him in El Classico. He crosses. That’s 1 up on Rashford already.

When was he a starring role in Ajax winning the champions league?

They spent half as much as we did on Fred for him
What does that have to do with him being an unquestionable success at Chelsea? He hardly plays for them (bit more lately though) and didn't feature in the CL final at all.

We wont be in for him. And in the unlikely scenario, where we will be interested, he will reject us for a club with better chances for trophies.

Proper generous that. He didn’t start in any of the quarters, semis and didn’t even get on the pitch in the final. He’s done very little at Chelsea.
