First of all it’s a private board not a public one, so you’re all here as guests. Which means follow our rules.
Secondly there is constructive criticism and there is outright babyish whining which has increased the toxicity on the board during this transfer window. Transfer windows are usually fun. They’ve sucked the life out of this one. As a result some of them have already been removed for the sake of posters who dont want to listen to that repeatedly, whilst others are on a watchlist
I understand the rules just find it harsh to completely curb those who whine , there is a ton of frustration surrounding us right now(some justified and some not) so just removing them doesn't make them go away so might as well have them for the extra perspective they bring as annoying as it may be.
Anyway I can't really tell you how to do your job , you know it better yourself so just a small recommendation.

Are they?

Can't say I agree, pretty much every summer I can remember, on whatever forum i have used, there has been some transfer saga that has dragged on and caused this exact same reaction. Probably exacerbated by the awful season Utd had last season to be fair.

Transfers window is always a screech of BUYBUYBUBUY, player bought, 2 days later BUYBUYBUYBUY WHEREISTHEAMBITION.
You take them too seriously fella. Come on it’s usually a laugh in here, tracking flights and so on. Everyone is a miserable twat in here this summer. It’s more toxic

When did this happen or even slightly happen?
Didn't say it did but if progression is all that's be aimed for, what the hell is the point? We must aim to go far in the cup competitions. In fact, I'd sacrifice most things for the Europa which is our best bet of getting back into the CL. City were happy to dominate the League Cup for many years and that wouldn't be an awful starting point.

And by the way, the club started it's descent into rubbish the moment we lost to that ridiculous goal in Istanbul in November 2020 and that was the day Ole should have been sacked

still think this is crazy unless it's only on loan. What the hell happens if DDG gets injured or has one of his poor seasons? If Hendo has a blinding season at (presumably) Newcastle, he should get a chance with us in 2023-24
It is a loan.

You have to take the players welfare into consideration when making decisions like this.

I respect him massively for wanting to play every week, unlike many others who are content sitting on the bench/stands every week while picking up an incredible wage.

It’s not extra perspective when they just repeat in every single thread. If they want to do that fine, go and take Reddit topics off track. Not here

Now my turn, where dud I say get knocked out by minnows?
My expectation is to see a style develop this season, that the players all buy in, and that things like goals scored/goals conceded all improve significantly. But it will take time which is why I say that a trophy is a bonus not an expectation.

by the way I dont care which rebuild we are on, this to me feels like the start of something real, the team all seem to know what they want and how to get there. So excuse me for being more excited that I was for moyes, Lvg, Jose, ole and Ralph
To be fair, you didn't actual go that deeply into what you wanted to see. This is, of course, far more reasonable. I don't expect to win anything but I'd like to see a sustained challenge. Hell, I'd like to see a sustained challenge for 90 minutes in a game!

And I mention the rebuilds because we've been conned before - particularly by at least one of the mangers you mention above!

The first pandemic window was the worst ever. Sancho-induced meltdowns had everyone in competition on who could deliver harsher criticism of the club.

Waiting for some Rando Twitter account to say we agreed a fee but De Jong isn't convinced yet. This was over two weeks ago.

that's fine. just don't give them an option to buy. And I've just remembered, it isn't Newcastle: they've bought Nick Pope - the guy I wanted to play for us

Another £5 offered, another day close to getting this done... and, reportedly, we haven't even spoke to the player himself yet...

Wait are we actually going to sign a top class player AND give him a pre-season? What is this magic?

P.s. under the most exciting coach in Europe who knows exactly how to use him. Please don't give me this false hope again United.

Possibly the best English keeper around right now and far more dominate in his area that DDG. Came pretty close to keeping Burnley up all on his own last season
De Gea is better( Arguably Henderson Too) and if we’re replacing De Gea it will be for someone better with their feet.

I mean I don't like the whining either but what's wrong with people expressed their frustrating?
Freedom of speech and all that.
because it’s usually the same people in every thread doing the same thing and I can’t speak for everyone, but it makes me want to avoid going into certain threads or forums.

I'm afraid my granny is better with her feet - and she died when I was a kid! Also DDG doesn't even dominate the six yard box, let alone his penalty area. A great shot stopper, yes. But that stopped being enough 20 years ago. Oh, and Pope is a good shot stopper too

I lived in the Berba thread that summer we signed him. I feel old
Makes me feel old too to think of when I lurked RedCafe (years before joining) etc and followed the Tevez, Hargreaves, Nani/Anderson ones. I even remember being on holiday (Spain or Bulgaria, can't remember) in Summer 2004 buying the paper every morning to see the latest on Rooney. My last day there the story was that Newcastle had bid £20m and were confident in signing him because United didn't have the budget left to match their bid.

It's also weird seeing some of the old "sagas" in the classic threads on RedCafe and they are so much smaller than the ones now. Then if you logged on in the evening and the thread had grown a few pages since the morning, you knew some news had come out.

Yeah De Gea was only our player of the season. Let’s replace him with a 3rd rate England keeper because he’s English. He’s not good enough mate.

Like I said if we get a new keeper it will be a more modern keeper than a Pope or DDG who is able to be more involved in the play like a Ederson or Alisson.

This is the wrong thread for this discussion anyway

Fair enough, I got convinced.
However I hope the implementation isn't too harsh and some critical comments get tolerated.

Can't i celebrate?
I don't have a De Dong! :D
Celebration of the good times is actively encouraged for all members of the human race. And Horsechoker. We do not discriminate!

Should you lack the appropriate tool to celebrate efficiently, a substitute will be provided.

Have fun

Not really, will pop in now and again to take the temperature but in a thread like this when people are reacting to every obscure tweet it could get a bit exhausting to follow continuously.

Let people whinge, like match day threads, there are 2 certainties, people contributing hyperbolic whinging and those over dramatically whinging about that previous whinging. Nature of the beast and how some deal with stress.

If this is going to happen, it's going to happen by tomorrow, I think. Barcelona are bluffing, they need the money and need him off their books. I just hope he is worth all that cash, wages included.
