I think the reason people are getting frustrated is because we have so much rebuilding to do in a short time, and we’ve seen very strong Liverpool and City teams strengthen further. It’s understandable that people are worried. The only positive thing is we have achievable targets.

City have strengthened by I wouldn't say that Liverpool have. The are losing easily one of their best players of the last 5 years in Mane and the jury is still very much out on Nunez especially since he is an out and out striker which they haven't used for a while. Chelsea have lost almost their entire back line along with Lukaku. Tottenham have strengthened a bit but as always, they are a Kane or Son injury away from big issues.

Its not quite as bleak as many make out. Some people on here just need need to take a break and try and enjoy the summer.

I think you are right. I have just looked into the United PLC report 20-21 and its says report as of 30 june.

I think we close the financial books on June 30th and i think thats exactly why no new signings are coming in yet.

There’s so many Glazer sympathisers on the cafe now. It’s like there’s a group of people now who just want to be WUMs so they have chosen to sympathise with Glazers just to argue back at the non-gullible people who know that the club isn’t improving and the rot is deep within.

It's really sad that the club is prioritising saving what is a relatively trivial sum of money, meaning this might drag on for months on end. Aren't the Glazers taking their dividends today?

Players being here before pre-season starts is hugely beneficial and you'd have thought they would want ETH in the best possible position. It's also good for general morale too around the club.

Of course in real terms the sums of money are huge, but look what we've wasted money on... Phil Jones has been paid millions for nothing. Amad Diallo... £30m? And all the rest.

I am really hoping they'll get something agreed before the end of next week, any later and I'll be hugely disappointed.

Did you need to add the last part? Does it look like a summer to enjoy? Like someone right pointed out, united is not just a passing thing for many. It may be for you but don't compel others to see it your way. Go easy on what's happening at the club and let others vent as much as they want. We can't all be quiet, docile sheeps.

The players who will be signed i think have all played internationals and need an extended break.

Even if we sign they probably won't join the initial group which starts on 27th

we need a proper pre season where we know who’s in who’s out. We know what we got and in reality we need the players together to gel and play together before the season actually kicks off. We haven’t had that for a good few years and can’t be messing about this year.

They should be criticised for all the ills they put on the club, don't resort to whataboutism for these parasites.
Its not whataboutism. There is too much hysteria going on here. Need to put things in perspective.

Dividends are paid out annually. it's not like it's any surprise. The clusterfeck that was Woodward's poor usage of £1.2B or 100 times of the annual dividend payout -- needs to be the primary agenda and not some piddly amount in the scheme of things.

It's absolutely whataboutism, you're bringing something else up to distract from an issue that is quite clearly an issue that should be talked about.

Dividends are a symptom of the Glazer disease, much as Woodward was also a symptom. Transfers are always going to amount the highest as this is football.

Simple, because you guys are getting worked up over media articles and unverified assessments that the existing players are no good. If we are truly fans, we must trust the manager's assessment and have a open mind about the existing squad. We may think the squad is useless based on last season but we have no proper insight on why the performances happened like that. It is highly possible that it could be a mentality issue which the new manager can address. We also have promising talents coming in from the academy, so its not a total lost cause in terms of squad rebuilding.

Regarding transfers, it does not happen with the drop of a hat. There are always complications in every deals, especially Barcelona's financial situation, which can result in a lengthy negotiation process. If it is hard for us, imagine how hard it is for the recruitment team who are working day and night to ensure we get the best deal. Unless we have a good understanding of how financial deals happen (not what the media says), we should stay away from making premature judgments on the transfer activities.

Taking dividends from a business that you own is not controversial though is it. It’s totally normal. The nature of how the Glazers acquired the club could be viewed as controversial, but why would you own a business and not benefit from it financially? The mismanagement of the club is a completely isolated issue, and taking a dividend isn’t relevant to that issue.

So basically, we are only supporters and can't judge the ability of our current squad or how well our transfer window is going? We know two things...1) that many of these players have had these issues under numerous managers (one much higher regarded than ETH), and 2) that we haven't signed or sold anybody yet, lost a boat load of first team players for free and have generally been a disaster for about 10 years now.

Some of you are too quick to forget, just because the club changes a few members of staff. Keep the pressure on them to be the best we can be and stop making excuses and hypothetical situations to make it easier for them to short change us all again.

Maybe from a regular business, but it's absolutely abnormal for a football club...

Taking dividends is part of the mismanagement, the moment we as fans accept dividends is normal is another step towards the club settling for mediocrity long term.

Edit: I suspect that club owners look to make their profits when they come to sell the club rather than chip away at it over time, in order to make the profit on the sale they need to invest in the club and leave it in a better state it was when they found it. The Glazers have done the complete opposite of this.

So what's new Muppets?

Have we signed this Frenkie last yet?
Are you living under a rock or what? Dont you know they are working so hard on this deal for like 6 weeks now. Be patient. He will definitely sign for us in a few years.

Because we're bloody sick of people who paint some bizarre narrative that suggests that every club around us gets big deals done in minutes while we float around for months. We're sick of people complaining about the most stupid things and throwing their toys out of the pram about a tweet from someone whos job it is to make shit up. We're sick of being pointed at a few clubs that have signed a single player while most clubs have done FA and told "look at how a well run club does it".

People have to vent, thats fine, thats what this place is about a lot of the time and lord knows some people need it. Its the ridiculous hyperbole and doom-mongering that people indulge in that needs to stop. Just have a read of the hot-takes thread or the tantrum people were throwing after the window had been open a few days.

Some of our fans are just pathetic and if United makes them this angry and unhappy they need to have a look at themselves.

Fierce stench of the Summer of Moyes and Fellaini so far off this transfer window...

It was Moyes chasing Cesc (Barca) at the time and him saying nah I'm staying... to end up with Felliani.

Who's the modern day equivalent of Fellaini? Cause we'll probably end up with him.

This team managed to get 2nd the season before. ETH also mentioned this in the interview. If the squad was consistently getting 6th or 5th, then it is fair to say that we certainly need improvement but until last season, we were improving quite well despite not winning trophies. Agree that the immediate first team recruitment, contract management and player sales has been very messy but the club has finally started to see this. Obviously it will take time since the changes only happened recently.

Its fine to feel frustrated, but we must also know how to see the bright side. The problem with these group of "fans" is that bright side means instant improvement, instant recovery, instant changes. Patience just goes out of the window. Can you image the chaos if social media had existed during the 95/96 season? These group would have blasted SAF for failing to sign players and relying on the academy talents.

The incometh meltdown, when United walk away from FDJ, unwilling to pay the extra £10m to get the deal done, on the same day we pay the Glazers £11m in dividends.

Feels like some fans are only in it for the transfers. There’s still a week left of June.

I’d imagine the same fans play Football Manager, but go on holiday between September to June and only play the summer transfer window.

tbf $11m for billionaires is peanuts like a fiver for most of us.
It's not peanuts and not like a fiver. It's a bit like considering that 11k cash is nothing because you own a house worth 1.5m.

They just dont want to lose their "faces" in front of rival fans. These are basically fans who revel in the club's success rather than the club itself.
