This has to go down as the greatest transfer saga ever, not my favourite by any means (as its been annoying as feck) but surely the weirdest and most spectacular.
Who's paying for Frenkie's therapy though?

Barcelona: "We don't need to sell but we want you to leave for financial reasons. Now feck off so we can buy new toys"
FDJ: "Barcelona is my dream team. Pay me the 17m you owe me you cnuts or else I'll stay here and I'll feck your transfer strategy"

This is good, when we do eventually sign him, at least he won’t be having dreams about Barca.

Not far enough
I really don’t get City selling Silva. Sterling seems to be on a downward trajectory so I got that one - but this one makes no sense to me.
Bernardo wanted to play in Spain for quite a while. Barcelona and Real Madrid are by far the two most favourite football destinations for Portuguese players. Pep does not keep unhappy players.

Silva was promised a move last year if the right offer comes (same as Sterling btw).

I am waiting for the moment when Barcelona/Real will come for Bruno and he will ask us to leave. I think it is still possible to happen even if he is not the youngest. Another season like 20/21 and he will be a Ballon D'or contender

What are United doing...it cannot be worth the hassle!

ETH will get over it now that Eriksen and Martinez are signed. You can't have all the toys you want, pick another one please.

No I think FDJs is a fairly unique case due to Barcelona's situation. I have no issue with him wanting to be paid what he is owed, even if it's just out of principle.

I'm really talking about players who move about *just* for bigger salaries and/or signing bonuses. I think it rarely ends-up working out
I agree this seems a very unique case. Just wanted to make sure that was clarified. We are all good here :).

Even if he goes on tour, i'm still confident the deal will happen. This is all between Barca and Frenkie coming to an agreement. An agreement that Barca need.

It is worth it because this is the primary target and the player ETH wants to build his team around. I really don't mind this dragging on during pre season as Frenkie already knows the system and so won't need that much time to be integrated. The next payday loan hits Barca's accounts next week and that is likely going to be the final catalyst for them writing him a cheque to go away.

So it would be Xavi who tells De Jong I'm not taking you on tour.
Xavi is a tool for playing their games, they know he's a club legend and are taking advantage.
He's a tool because they'll dump him soon enough.

going to be a long summer for kessie, christensen and raphinha waiting on this saga to play out as they can't get registered/bought until Frenkie's wages are sorted out

Rumours say that Barcelona had issued a directive were certain players cannot use the club toilets anymore. A paid toilet had been installed within the premises for them to use. Access is 17m a pop.

FDJ had responded to such rumours that it was always his dream to crap on Laporta's desk.

If he goes on the tour tomorrow, we'll start to see the briefings that United are moving away from the deal.
Why would Xavi not take him on tour if everything was normal and he was gonna be a part of the squad next season? You don't say that about a first team player unless his status is in doubt.

I give it a couple of hours before a tweet comes out saying that FDJ is being treated like a slave OR that he doesn't want to go to Manchester United after talking to Di Maria about how is living in Manchester.

Well, No risk for Barce!?
If we walk away and FDJ refuse to pay cut.
Berca cannot register their new signing to play league and it need to pay a big salary to FDJ and new signing for their sitting fee.
Also, I don't think their potential player will join this summer in this situation.
The only risk to Barca is Frenkie doing a Bogarde and sitting out his contract. He is too young for that though. If I were him and ~30 I sure would. It would be hysterical.

We are not walking out, that much is obvious and the reason why we are up the creek. It's just mental how often we ruin seasons before they even start.

Eriksen is a 10 and Martinez is a CB so no Ten Hag won't be happy because the primary problem(CENTRAL MIDFIELD) still remains a huge unsolved gap. He can't have all toys but it's imperative he gets a specialist CM capable of controlling the game

I do not get how moving Frenkie gives them the financial wiggle room to sign all of Lewandoski, Silva, Raphinha, Kessie and Christensen. Lewandoski alone should gulp up the wage gap freed by FDJ. Surely Silva and the rest are not going to play for free too?

It's not about literally using the De Jong money to pay those players. The FA will not allow them to register new signings if they don't meet certain financial criteria.

La liga wage cap, frenkie is on obscene wages like many have been since Barca lost the plot.

Yeah, we should definitely scrap our new managers entire plans and start from scratch.
