Lack of dragon binder and the valyrian doom expeditions kind of spoiled his legend. The guy has an Armour of valyrian steel that's probably worth the iron islands itself
That's true but there is still stuff they could've done. Replace Damphair with Yara, for example.

That could've helped Rhaegal's death scene. Dany sees the fleet (instead of "kinda forgetting" about them) flies towards to it but then sees Yara bound to the prow of Euron's ship. Dany then hesitates and Rhaegal gets shot as a result.

That is so much better. I guess it means that theon doesn't save her and get redemption with her however.

But then again euron said they were all mutes however you hear his people shouting fire ... So guess they kinda forgot.

Forgetful season is this winter ...

It did feel that although they knew what was going to happen to the main characters (which GRRM told them) they were kind of making some stuff up as they went along. The Yara storyline was almost instantly abandoned in season 8. Also, It never really gets discussed because everyone hated the Dorne stuff but I get the feeling that initially Bronn and the youngest Sandsnake were gonna get together at some point in the series (they were setting that up) but then the writers probably thought, everybody hates this Dorne stuff we'll ditch this (probably a wise move).

Pretty much when they ran out of book material, the word cock was used in every third sentence, which is one the reasons why I really started disliking the show.
With Euron though they just decided not to use the book material. Which is an absolute travesty because he’s probably the most intriguing character of the latter books.

Dinklage winning best supporting actor over Alfie Allen was the bigger travesty. Theon was probably the most consistently well-acted character in the show.

They pretty much always do it whenever the "great" shows end their final season, as some sort of weird homage or whatever. It still won far less than it was predicted to win.

Nice to see Fleabag and Chernobyl sweep up their respective categories, though.

It's a shame they won't redo the last 4 episodes. Every single spin off is now pointless because of what happens in the end. You can't beef up the intimidating White Walkers in the other shows now, after they were beaten in 1 episode and Jon didn't even fight the NK. And there was no reason for Dany burning KL. And the unsullied were sent to make a new life in there own lands only they actually CAN'T . I'm gonna stop now before I go into a rant.

Anyway the whole Targaryen family is also pointless considering Dany is dead and Jon is wandering why is he back at the wall again.

They won't go anywhere far. GOT was their peak success and they failed win over fans.

Fans backlash is like the worst thing you could've wish for if you're a public figure. See Star Wars, EA games, etc.
Damon Lindelof got same kind of backlash after Lost finale forcing him to even delete his twitter account. He has done fine since then getting multiple deals and even getting another cult following for another one of his shown in The Leftovers. No one would care that these two shat the bed in GOT final season if they produce another good first episode or season of a TV show. Their main issue might be unable to write something good without a solid source material already present.

Like what?

Lost, Friends, Seinfeld, Twin Peaks, Dexter and The Wire didn't win anything. Mad Men and West Wing won best actor/supporting actor awards but that's it.

The only exceptions are Breaking Bad and now Game of Thrones.

At least Breaking Bad had a conclusive ending, bittersweet. Felt deserved they won..

GOT...my god. Feels like all my time watching, speculating and fanboying wasted.

At least to win it, the story must've been decent, but it wasn't, it was atrocious.

GoT ended great with dany gathering her troops and flying her dragons towards westeros with all her ships and armies. Shame it ended on that cliff hanger but least the battle of bastards was a great battle to finish the show.

The last scene of the show for me was them standing at the wall in winterfell waiting for the White Walkers. Shame they cancelled season 8:(

Hilarious how Ned was going on about winter is coming only for the show to end with his dead head in the middle of the summer with the winter nowhere in sight.

He deserved that for cheating on Cat.

He never cheated on cat. Did he? Didn't he just say that to protect Jon and make him a stark rather than a targaryan. Since Robert was trying to kill every one of them.

What the feck? Did you just make this up? Ned Stark was a cheater and deserved to have his head chopped off for that.

No, that is what happened. How else does he explain Jon. The story is Aegon raped her and killed her. Meanwhile Ned gave up his honor to protect his sisters child by saying he belonged to some woman he slept with. That's why jons a bastard. Otherwise he'd straight up be a stark had Ned told Robert and Cat, but you know Robert is on a rampage trying to kill all of Danys family. It would have brought a bigger dishonour and potential war with Robert had Ned told him he's half Targaryen. Thought that was obvious.

He could have told Cat that Jon was hers and she'd just kind of forgot.
He doesn't trust cat to keep the secret. Figured the less anyone knows the better. It was said somewhere. She always resented the kid. Guess he was kinda wrong to keep it from Cat since she might have been way more protective.

I really don't think there's enough information in the show to make that theory plausible since the only thing we know is that Jon is Ned's bastard son and Ned then got beheaded at the end of the show.

I mean he could tell Cat that she had conceived, carried and birthed Jon herself and that she had just kind of forgotten. It's established you can forget entire fleets and that your city isn't located in the desert. You can forget all sorts of things.

But it's not his son. It's his sisters and nephew.
