The £30m stuff seems like bs to me. Wouldn’t shock me at all if it’s significantly more than that depending on how much we pay for Simons.

As for the potential for him to pull a Palmer coming here, I just don’t see it. Palmer showed extremely impressive technical ability right up through youth levels. You’d know better than I would, but Garnacho doesn’t look to have a really high level football brain or really excellent technical ability.

I think u would be pleasantly surprised if he ends up signing for you. And he was special from youth days only.

Palmer really exploded like no one expected too but wont be surprised if Garnacho does in a year or 2 also.

To be fair I didn't know that much about Palmer early on, he just didn't stand out too much when I saw him playing for City, and what he's done for Chelsea must have exceeded everyone's wildest dreams there.

Garnacho is frustrating with his final decsion, this can surely be improved on with time though, but for me Garnacho has something about him that alot of other players don't, and he's still only 21. Personally I'll be sad to see him go, as I think he'll be very good for whoever signs him.

I know Chelsea are spoilt, but I'd be excited if he played elsewhere and United were in for him.

Chel are hedging their bets if they go for Garnacho in addition to Gittens. For all the players they accumulate, saudi clubs are on hand to bail them out with over vakued transfer fees.

I mean, PIF having a stake in Clear lake (owners of Chel) of course has nothing to do with it, none whatsoever!

£35m is fine if it comes with add ons and clauses that can push it up beyond £50m, but the thing with Garnacho is, unlike the others, we hold all the cards. He’s young and on a long, cheap contract. He could not play a minute between now and January and we could still get £30m for him.

I’m normally very opposed to the club taking stances, they should be cold, rational and take objective pragmatic decisions, but… f**k Chelsea. This is one case where we can take a stand. They’ve done us over a few times in recent years with their transfer shenanigans. Set a price and don’t compromise. If he’s here in September, so be it.

As I said, the £30m stuff sounds off to me. If we end up buying him I’m guessing it’ll be for between £45-50m.

For any PL club the price should come with a premium. Garnacho is still very young but at the same time is already an established PL player. He still can improve significantly and selling him for a low price does not make any sense.

If no one wants to bid what we want, let him stay. He will be more than useful squad player and he will need to perform if he even dreams of making WC squad.

Okay so you dont personally want young players and at 21 Garnacho hasnt convinced you, got it.

Yeah that just about sums it up. He's an alright player who could probably be decent depth for a lot of top clubs but he's not a player I would be interested in paying a huge sum for. A cheap punt, sure, but he doesn't really move the needle in any way.

we cant sell garnacho to chelsea for the sort of fee they normally sell their reserve team players for.

Totally get why Chelsea fans don't want him. I will say if we go anywhere below 45 million for them it would be a pisstake. Has shown no less than Gittens so far in his career, and in a tougher league.

I'd agree with that to some extent. At 21 he may or may not come in and do better than all of your current options wide left. Something might click and he may go back to being ahead of the curve like a year ago, or it may take him a few years to be consistent and Gittens or Pedro playing on the left might also progress just as much and end up better. Obviously thats the decision that your staff will have to make for themselves and it looks like they've picked Gittens. We'll see what happens

For the last 2 seasons he’s played in a team that has next to no midfield and the opposition walks through it at will.

Which makes it difficult to imagine what Garnacho would look like in a functioning team.

Wouldn’t surprise me at all if he looked like a completely different player if/when he does move on and settles in his new team.

Not saying playing in a competent team won't be a plus but how does that effect him running into players, shooting ALL THE TIME, refusing to pass, basically all the annoying traits he has are down to him. Now this will be met with he's young and fair enough but having no midfield shouldn't absolve him of being quite frankly a bit shit in front of goal.

Who knows, that’s the beauty of football, he could move, find the right club and iron out the flaws in his game.

But personably I don’t think he is as shit as fans on the cafe make out, he has a lot of qualities.

Wouldn't put it past him, wouldn't be the 1st player to leave United and perform. Just don't think you can blame the team for his short comings, specifically when it comes down to football IQ.

Ow I was putting his poor form 100% on the midfield…far from it. Just offering a different take on the situation.

His poor discussion making has been discussed to death, so no fun in repeating that page after page.

The thing is with the likes of Elanga and McTominay, they didn’t throw a fit when they didn’t play. Garnacho and Sancho are different. Garnacho literally flipped out supporters when we went to Asia 2 months ago. Sancho was talking about freedom for Rashford this year.

If he ends up at Chelsea, like any other player, how can you be guaranteed to play that many games when they have so many players?

Could end up pissing them off sulking in no time at all. All you need is a slight injury, your out of the team and then struggle to get back in due to others performances.

Competition for places at Stamford Bridge is far higher than at Old Trafford.

Their coach last season chose the 23 players he wanted and banished the rest. I bet Garnacho does more than what sancho was giving.

Chelsea know full well they ain't getting Garna for £30m, I think they will make contact either directly or via intermediaries, the news them not paying more than £30 is just them trying to lower the value, in Jan IIRC, the club demanded more than £60m for Garna, so they will try to bring that down a notch but they know full well they ain't getting Garna for £30m, the club recently said they will only let go at right price.

If there was ever a chance to put a marker down, this would be it...
The price is 50m and if the price is not met.. he stays and plays no part in the season.

Its a world cup year, so he will want to play, a loan should not be accepted at any cost.

Yeah we shouldn't be getting low-balled

He had plenty of the ball. He just generally did feck all with it when he did, don’t think the midfield will help his inability to put the ball in the back of the net or encourage him to actually pass the ball a bit more to teammates

Ha! You don’t know who you’re dealing with mate. Be surprised if it’s even £30m

Surely Chelsea need to be given a deadline of United's choosing for them to make a bid. Cannot have briefs in the media that they might bid late in the window. feck that.

In this market, he’s worth £45m at the absolute lowest. We should be pushing for £50m-£60m because of age and potential.

We are going to be left stuck with this cnut aren't we. Chelsea will never make an offer and the others interested will have pulled out by then, or end up low balling us as its late in the window.

The same was said for Sancho and he got plenty of minutes. I think if they sign Garnacho (and assumingly don't get Simons) he'd be in for plenty of minutes. I think the Chelsea competition is overstated. Assuming Palmer is in the 10 and one of Pedro, Jackson or Delap are the no.9s then he's competing with Gittens, George and Neto for one of two winger spots. I don't think any of those three are guarantees to start, so there is definitely space for another wide player.

If Chelsea are serious - this will happen somewhere between 40-50 M pounds.

They must be intentionally delaying the bid because he must have told them he only wants to go to Chelsea. And they think they can lowball us towards the end.

And they don’t want to give us the money to reinvest.

The 35m valuation is a joke.
They were willing to pay £25m for Sancho and presumably they were offering Sancho bigger wages too. £35m seems to me like they're interested but clearly not desperate and recognise our weak negotiating position.

I wouldn't accept 30m under any circumstance.
For me, the bare minimum to even start talking is £50m. Around the amount they demanded for Madueke. Enough is enough with us bending over for Chelsea.
