Should we sell or keep Garnacho?

The lad is available for a decent price yet there's no noise of anyone having much interest. Another example of how overrated young players are on this forum

I really don't know any club outside of the Big 6 in EPL, or clubs in Europe can afford £50M for an unproven and inconsistent young player. Chelsea already decided to pursue Gittens for less than £40M. In reality there are only a handful of clubs in Europe can afford £50M on player recruitment.

What did Amorim actually say about him leaving?

Because as far as I can tell, everything came from a training ground leak. Given the fact that Garnacho and his brother had been some of the main suspects for the leaks that have plagued us in recent years, I’m really not sure how Amorim can be blamed. Everything I’ve heard him say publicly on the matter has been very circumspect. Maybe I missed something.

I'm not privy to Bayern's plans and I dont know how much Milan would want for Leao but yea personally I'd take him over Garnacho without hesitation. And the fact that Garnacho acted a bit like a bellend those past few weeks makes the choice even easier. I assume you dont agree and it's fine, we can agree to disagree.

Yea I feel like I was being generous with £50M. A lot of posters are used to PL numbers and dont realize how big the financial gap is with other leagues. There's like 5 or 6 non-PL clubs (the very top clubs) who can pay this fee and he's not good enough for them.

This is not entirely true... Liverpool will be evidence of this. They want to sell Nunez, everyone knows this and lets see what they get for him.

You said the richest clubs don't need a winger... then saying you are not privy to Bayern;s plans... so those 2 sentences dont make sense then?

I am not saying talking about how he acted. Garnacho's numbers are not that different from Leao, he is much younger

European clubs outside of PSG, Real Madrid, Bayern and Bareclona(not sure now) are shopping around €35m for proven players.

We know Bayern needs a winger, I just dont know what kind of profile they're looking for and how much they're willing to pay, that's what I meant. A lot of names have been in rumours, Leao, Mitoma, Barcola but no links to Garnacho at least not yet.

I don't think we'll get it but it makes sense to set it that high. You don't ask for 40m because then you get bullshit offers for 30m. We should be looking to get 50m minimum, even if that involves achievable add ons.

My main worry is that teams outside the EPL don't often spend that kind of money
 
Reminder, Amorim said nothing to the press. The reveal we want to sell him came from a leak. So unless you think the leak is Amorim can we stop with that nonsense.
 
The lack of any real interest in Garnacho just highlights how overrated he is. His proposed fee for a young and supposedly brilliant winger is cheap and his wages at United are low, so if he really was half decent there would be a queue of clubs wanting him. But nothing.
I really hope we can move him on, and I care little for how well he may do or not, but we need a half decent fee for him. I hope the club doesn’t buckle and sell cheap.
I actually do think he’s worth a punt at £45m because he’s been playing OOP all season, but I think he will be a problem if he stays.

Papers say about interest in most players that are available. He’s been on the market for 2 windows now and no bids or even serious discussion, no? Napoli sniffed around but didn’t bid.

I think the point is that we have no links from credible sources yet. That article just comes off as throwing darts at a board, I mean we can all speculate as to who might be interested but so far the journalists who are trusted for transfer news have not mentioned anyone in connection with a bid for him. I am not worried though, it is pretty early for business and I am sure that a lot of clubs are focusing on outgoings and contracts with their current squads before looking at additions.
 
Probably no one will pay us 70m, but we demand high at 70m and then accept 50m plus boneses, that's what other clubs will do to us.

However, no reliable journo said anything new so far.
 
By setting the price at £70m (if there's any truth in the tweet), we're basically asking other clubs to "do a United" with their money. Might happen, but we're basically looking for a mug with a fat purse. I hope INEOS have more realistic expectations for any potential sales.
 
If we were buying Garnacho, it would be 60+ million. He's young and dumb, but he has great numbers. Selling him for something like 40 reflects poorly on our management.

Saudi or bust if that's the genuine value the club have on him.
 
Still have a gut feeling that he'll end up staying. Club won't want to get mugged off, and Ruben will ''make up'' with him.

He was complaining about game time last season. It’s only going to get worse this year cause of the players we are signing in his position and we have maybe 10-12 less games with no Europe.

Maybe if he has actual competition, he'll accept it. Problem is that he's probably deserved to start, because the alternative was a downed tools Rashford, or Mount in the Europa final.

Irrelevant. Amorim told Garnacho to his face. That's the whole issue. Do you think Garnacho wouldn't tell his agent and his agent wouldn't tell potentially interested clubs?

The moment Amorim told him outright he had to leave, he destroyed his transfer value. That's vey much his fault(along with anyone else who might have known and approved/did nothing)
 
Our club isn't being run by serious people. £70m for a player we are desperately trying to offload, we can dream on.
