Garnacho | Officially Chelsea's problem

Been very critical of Garnacho but fair play to the lad for recognising his own mistakes. If he changes his mindset he'll have a much better career.

He's a good example for some of our young lads who lack patience.

Have to admit, deep down inside, I still like the kid. I like his direct style, his never give up attitude, and and those fighting spirit.

It seems like he's the type of emotional young player that needs a father-figure like manager.

Good move by his team to stay ahead of the narrative with the possibility of him moving out of the club. It shows publicly at least that he’s not going to be a PR nightmare, and shows that he’s not trying to burn bridges should there ever be a chance to return. Would love to see him at Napoli.

He never hated United.

He never hated Ten Hag.

He hated Amorim.

Alot of players & fans hated Amorim aswell (dorgu liking instagram messages), mainoo looking like the moodiness player on the bench - the difference is Garnacho has no patience nor have the ability to think before he speaks or before he makes a decision (sometimes very similar to his footballing style).

He is 21, when I was 21 I was drinking and clubbing at University so I never expected him to be this professional gentleman but obviously acting more like a 14 year old teenager which is arguably the same age as his little brother - he burnt bridges with Amorim.

You could see how he came in to the Europa League Final with his hair new and dyed out that he wanted to make an impression in that game and alot of us were dissapointed at both the starting 11 & how much minutes he got in a game we were not performing in.

I've got no idea about leaking the squad but I see no benefit for players who earns alot of money to be leaking a squad compared to a toilet cleaner who is cleaning out the training room trying to earn some extra cash. It turned from Rashford being our squad leaker to Garnacho. Like we clearly have no clue. Maybe now it's Ugarte or Dalot?

I still like him and if I could tie his mouth together I'd still have been happy enough as a LW to compete with Cunha especially because the LW market is absolutely horrible right now. But he was too big headed here to be part of a squad rather than think of himself as one of the main players.

But Still Chelsea; swap with Mount please?? Mount is a Chelsea Legend and assisted your Champions League winning goal.

Bet Hojlund wouldn't..... Seems like they hated each other on the pitch.

Theatre, saying what needs to be said to try to repair his image for the future
Don't believe it represents his true feelings

He's about to burn bridges with Chelsea too (if it's not too late already, looks like it) after having been there less than a season, and you want him back. Some people are out of their minds!

Theres always been this weird clamour (on here) for a return for a lot of the players we’ve sold/moved on. Even when it’s clear they weren’t good enough or selling was the right decision. I wonder if we’ll get the odd post wishing for Onana to return when he’s sold

I’m not on any other forums, so maybe it’s just a general football fan thing?

I’m Delighted we have all these rotten bad eggs out of the club and the club can move forward. I wouldn’t take him back for a million pound and 30k a week.

Hea been humbled and done some growing. Fair play to him, as a person perhaps the last 18 months or so was best for him.

If he was flying at Chelsea, I doubt he'd be saying that. He left smug like he was going to show us what we were missing and that he'd be starring for Chelsea.

It hasn't worked out there and finally he may have realised he's not as good as he think he is.

I can somewhat understand it when we've replaced those players with worse players and even wasted money doing that in the process, but almost always it was the right decision. Probably a fair bunch of posters that want Antony back ahead of Mbeumo because he's doing decent for Real Betis. I guess it's a football fan thing because I've seen it elsewhere, but United fans love doing that, yeah

Yep, replacing DDG with Onana, being a prime example of the above

I’d say moving on from DDG was the right decision but we just pissed a ton of money down the drain, signing someone infinitely worse. Even fairly recently, a friend of mine was wondering if Pogba could still do a decent job for us in midfield!

Back then:
"If you can't handle me at my worst you don't deserve me at my best!"

Now:
"Please baby I regretted my decision, can we get back together? I promise I won't hurt you anymore"

This is essentially what it means.

At the time of the transfer he stated it was absolutely no problem to leave United, admitting to it being an easy decision.

Seems like he's had a dose of reality and grown up a bit. I'm glad.

He's got talent and could turn into a decent player if he applies himself, so hopefully he does so and has a good career. But as has been shown time and again from players for years; it's easy to talk.

I'd rather have Onana than Bayindir.

Exactly. Spare me this redemption arc from Garnacho. Forced a move and then the grass wasn't greener, and he figured out that he's half the player he though he was. He will probably tear it up in the Europa League next season though.

Did he? The way understood it the club wanted him sold, and all that Garnacho did was to insist he goes to Chelsea, hindering the clubs negotiation potential if other clubs had also been in the running.

He's so weird

He's playing 4D chess here. Before you know it he'll have used his genius level intelligence to sneakily return to the club.

He has all the subtlety my daughter has when she's planning to pull a sickie from school the next morning, by spending twenty minutes the night before saying "*cough* oh I think I might be coming down with something..."

I think it’s a collection of reasons
1. Fanbois. It’s never the players fault
2. Some think that maybe we made an error and the player could redeem himself under a different coach
3. It’s romantic to want old players back

Personally I think Garnacho’s ego far outweighed his actual ability level

Agreed with all of the above, geebs.

Ravel Morrison played about an hour of football for us, across three League Cup appearances, was sold to West Ham in January 2012, did absolutely feck all with his career after that, and we still had people saying he could do a job for us as recently as 2021.

Yeah, he was one of the more extreme examples - mostly due to how insanely talented he was for our youth teams.

Could still do a job for us

Im sure that we could use him as a don’t throw your career away subject case
