Should we sell or keep Garnacho?

I'd be selfish too if I had to play alongside Hojlund all season. I'd be angry if I got benched ahead of Mount who has been largely invisible for nearly every game he plays in. And when said Mount was invisible in an absolutely trash 1st half, I couldn't come on until the 75th or so minute.

If he wants to go, fine, but just above here, one poster calls Cunha an inside forward and another said he was out wide when discussing how we'll need more wingers once Amorim is out.

His hair looked good on Wednesday. I disagreed with RA’s selection but I also left Garna on the bench. I would have had him on earlier. We should try and keep him. He’s growing as a player - will be great in a couple of years
The problem is the opposite is true. He's played a significant number of games already despite his age and is displaying a worrying lack of progression.

Thinks he's CR7 because he has no real competition for his position, in reality he's barely performing at league average level.

While he dribbles a lot and takes a lot of shots, he also happens to lose the ball a lot and doesn't convert his chances well. He also can't consistently make good decisions to create chances for the team, and is well below average there as well as in pressing.

This is essentially a very bad thing because you have a player taking a lot of chances, not scoring or losing the ball a lot, and not doing much to create team chances. Sell him for the right price or loan him out because if he can fix this, he's easily worth £100M+

I definitely wouldn't sell him. Loan with option to recall at the very most.

If Amorim underperforms next season again, he'll be sacked and the next manager will obviously be one who uses wide forwards.

Ornstein: Ruben Amorim informs Manchester United squad he will be in charge next season + tells Alejandro Garnacho to find new club. New

Twitter is down but got a notification from the Athletic that Amorim has told Garnacho to find a new club

So a manager who has shown zero promise is now forcing out a young talent who has shown great promise. Why is it we’d rather keep the former again?

About time we had a manager in charge who won't take any nonsense from players. I missed those days.

Yep, was posted above but it's not loading.

Looks like he's definitely off then. I'm not bothered by it either way, think he's overrated on the pitch and his off the field antics aren't acceptable.

Saw the article. Disappointing because I think he’s good enough to stay and I don’t trust us to replace that quality to stretch the defence. We’ll see what happens this summer I guess

A couple ready made options in the PL. Let's see it the club knows how to sell and knows common sense buys

6 wins in 26 showing nothing for us giving Tottenham their first trophy binning one of Carrington’s best talents past 10 years so that he can make space for a ‘wingback’. Club is dying in front of us but I guess it’s okay because he speaks well and told us ‘we need to suffer’

Doesn’t matter who the manager is to be honest. He’s not being jettisoned because of what he can do, he has the wrong attitude and it’s been evident under two managers now. He’s a selfish player on and off the field, and we can’t have it.

Agree.

He’s a young and temperamental guy who has acted foolish at times. You could try man managing him but it seems Amorim prefers freezing out the few players who actually have some ability on the ball.

What nonsense? Is it because he said the team is shit. Was he just rephrasing Amorin when the guy said the team is the worst in United history?

I'm no Amorim fan, but Garnacho is a little shit. Proved that to the world with his interview after the game. Good riddance to players who have bad attitudes.

Not too bothered.
Very little improvement since his debut season in terms of end product.
Hopefully we sell with a nice sell on clause in case he kicks on. I'd imagine he'll do very well in Serie A

I'm starting to think that he's just an anti-winger hardliner . Amad better behave. By the time the Amorim era is done, this club will be unrecognizable. Hopefully it's in a positive sense.

Always thought he'd leave to help with PSR before July.

Yeah, it’s grotesque. We’re gonna sell the few players that actually give us any hope for the future in order to get a failing manager a couple of mediocre wingback who will be largely useless when Amorim is sacked in a few months. And many fans seem to be supportive of it. Nothing makes sense.

Good, Amorim should be taking no prisoners if he has the backing of the hierarchy. Maybe fans can start to heal from Player FC nonsense. His attitude is locker room poison.

By the way, we're replacing him with Cunha, not "a couple of mediocre wingbacks"

I never really got on the hype train with Garnacho. Now don't get me wrong I think there's a decent player there but he needs to seriously improve his allround game. His composure and awareness at times can be tragic.

For me, it's the right call to sell him, I just hope the split being fairly acrimonious doesn't affect the sale price.

In Amorim's 3421 formation, the WBs are the ones to stretch the defences, so hopefully our current WBs (Dalot and Dorgu) do better next season or we sign new WBs.

Acts like he's better than he actaully is but regularly misses chances and makes wrong decisions. On the other hand he has his qualities and he's one more offensive player Amorim is getting rid of in the situation where its already bad on that front to say the least.

Amorim will be sacked by December and we'll be left scratching our head why we sold our best academy player to appease a manager who has us playing like relegation fodder.

I’m sure they have tried man managing him. He’s 3 seasons in, thinks he’s Ronaldo, when he’s not even Rashford levels of talent. The entitlement with his behaviour is daft, and the club maybe feel like it isn’t going to change. Outright rebellion that is allowed against any leadership is a death sentence for that regime, so away he goes sadly.

£60m is a fair price for player like Garna, young, good, home grown, and with high potential to improve and even greater resale value.

We'll be playing this system for maybe another 3 months next season before Amorim is sacked and replaced. Rebuilding the squad in his image is a fools game.

He doesn’t have “all the talent in the world” though, this gets stated too many times while all the evidence actually points to him being very limited in a fair few parts of his game.
Precisely. There is absolutely nothing tangible to support this statement.

Garnacho for all his potential has publicly disrespected two managers on the bounce.
He has become entitled and it is the right decision to sell him, you can't have these characters in the club. His place at United has become untenable.

Plenty of potential but not performing to a point where he shouldn’t even be a guaranteed start in this team is fairly damning. Would be fine if he was acting like the young talent he is and expected to not be starting every game even if he was playing better, but to continually stir the pot with dogshit performances is a shithouse move.

It’s majorly disappointing to see talent leave, but also tired of these bellends.

I said it in another thread, but I am hanging my hat on Wilcox and Vivell bringing in quality players that will fit in different systems and not be only suitable to one style.

Yeah im sure it has nothing to do with the fact he has massive attitude problems, and had them before Amorim even came through the door. Needs to tell his brother to shut up as well. The fact the club has allowed this circus to carry on without having a word about it is a joke

It's disrespectful and he was also moaning about only playing 20 minutes which is a challenge to the manager's authority.

SAF would never have accepted it. Standards have slipped both on and off the pitch. It's time for a clean up.
