Gary Neville - Pundit

By the stats shown we have been playing attacking football this season. The youth player tradition is something that we should be proud of but it was reduced to a token gesture at times as managers felt under pressure to keep the record going, and it’s just another one of those things that are a constant weight around any new manager’s neck. Neville seems to have gone full circle again. So far from him we’ve had:

Moyes-“a victory for sanity in football” he said, purely because the guy was British and did ok at Everton for a number of years. That went well.

LvG- was against the possession-focused play.

Ole- “well they have to give him the job now”. “He needs time” etc etc.

EtH-“United need a system manager”. Remember EtH himself stated he couldn’t play his Ajax brand of football at United. Pretty sure he inferred that people wouldn’t stand for it.

Amorim-bashing the 3-4-3. Now on about United DNA again.

I feel at times the ex players and the club’s great history is creating a bit of a toxic environment. Liverpool fans have said that Klopp was the first manager to identify that problem in their club and change it.
100% agree with all this.

Everything can be true. Amorim was out of his depth, didn’t understand the club’s identity (RE: the identity the club & those associated with it want to project) and deserved to be sacked on results alone… But also that ex pros whinging online are ultimately an incredibly unhelpful and damaging distraction, solely benefiting themselves. The Scholes and Butt one is ridiculous ‘inmydayism’ that was seemingly promoted entirely off the back of criticising Amorim, they keep insisting Roy Keane should be given the job and the last thing anyone needs right now is a new fecking videod podcast. Just useless nonsense. White noise in the ether.

Also all this “Fergie wouldn’t have stood for it” bullshit seemingly conveniently ignores that the very last thing Fergie wouldve stood for was his old players bitching about the current state of the club on a podcast… with the most obvious example of that being the person they bafflingly think should come out of a near 15 year management retirement to manage the World’s most scrutinised club!

INEOS are a shit show, the Glasers were a shit show, and the gaggle of ex players constantly talking about it would be just as big of a shit show if given the chance. Ideally none of these people should be in charge of running Man Utd, but apparently they all are in some form or another …. FFS
Haha this is true and also funny.

Has Neville said any other useless shite today or is he too busy filming content?

He would've mentioned the formation at least a dozen times at this point if we were not playing a back 3.

the man is literally brushing that Walker dive under the table like it was nothing, 3/4 burnley players were fouling ours worse than that. pathetic stuff, he wouldn't seem biased to say that was a really bad refereeing error.

He’s just saying what VAR will give
He said nothing wrong all game

He literally said nobody could put Kyle Walker on the floor if they tried

I wish our former players would use their platform and influence to call out these decisions. We need some media scrutiny in our favour for a change. Toss being impartial.

I really dislike Gary Neville. Just hearing his voice make me cringe.
Same. He's on every United match on sky. At this point I don't care if he's being positive or negative, I just can't be arsed with his histrionics. We need an option to mute the commentary and just have crowd noise.

Wasn't there a option to do this a while back ?

Neville and Carragher need to be phased out. They're just chatting shit at this point. Make them coach a team.

There used to be loads of good options on Sky. You could watch without commentary, from different angles, follow individual players. Not sure why it stopped, other than the general capitalistic enshitification of everything after they realised they didn't have to. On BBC you could switch to the Radio Commentary. The glory days of the red button.

Anyone noticed how he didn't say anything against Glazers and new regime since interview with Sir Jim? And he was biggest Glazers critic
