Plane crash in Ethiopia, 157 feared dead. Same Boeing plane as the crash in Indonesia last year that resulted in over 100 deaths.

737-800 Max. Only been introduced 2 years ago... Both planes less than half a year old when crashed. Very worrying.

The edge of reason: the world’s boldest climb and the man who conquered it
When Alex Honnold climbed El Capitan in Yosemite, solo and without ropes, many hailed it as his sport’s ultimate feat. Tom McCarthy talks to the world’s greatest ‘big wall climber’ and asks if we should glory in such extreme risks:

https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2017/sep/10/climbing-el-capitan-alex-honnold-yosemite
Just finished Dawn Wall and Valley Uprising on Netflix and some youtubes about Alex Honnold.
Holy shit! Gives me the creeps looking at it. Almost can't watch it when he solo El Cap and the one in the desert.

This was a wonderful listen for me- placing the alt-right "white genocide" bible in the context of French history which produced it. It's very long, the discussion starts around 7 mins and from about 20-1:20 is about French history from Louis XIV to de Gaulle and then about what elements of French history produced that text.*

Antifada: History is a Weapon #3 w/ Matt Christman
HIAW3.mp3
Once more into the breach! @cushbomb is here to make history all the more weapony. In this episode, we discuss the 'controversial' French 'novel' that is 'just asking questions' about the Migrant Invasion, the Great Replacement, and Yt Genocide.

How did a 1970s book by some grenouille asshole named Jean Raspail become a prophetic lodestar for an ascendant white nationalist movement? How does a historical materialist analysis help us understand why dickheads like Steve Bannon and Marine Le Pen are lauding this novel 50 years later? Ultimately, we ask wtf is up with French politics/development that they could vomit up filth so enduring as to still be 'relevant' in 2019?

We read it so you don't have to...

Note: this was going to be released as a premium episode for patrons, but in light of the white nationalist terror attack in NZ on 3/15/19 we decided to release it early. Hopefully this ep might help provide context for this horrific massacre and the ones that will surely come unless we collectively confront the wellspring of this reactionary ideology.

*I don't know much about that history so I don't know how new or detailed it is for many people.

Zup with the F35? Lots of negative news surrounding it. Is it as flawed as some would have you believe?

(Also, @Raoul - pull some strings and have your millitary purchase some of Kongsberg Gruppens Joint Strike Missiles!)

Creating a very good "multi-mission" aircraft is pretty tough to do. The F-35 is kind of a "jack of all trades master of none" case as far as aircraft are concerned. It can't be the best at everything, so it's pretty good at alot of things... and that becomes an issue when they are pretty dang expensive and when European air forces and navies are purchasing them for air superiority roles. European defense budgets are much smaller than ours, so the number of F-35's they can order along with the relative quality of the F-35 that many of them want for the aircraft mean that other cheaper alternatives are available that can do similar missions.

This article does a great job summing it up...

https://www.conservapedia.com/Essay:Worst_Liberal_Movies

This was a fun read, which mixes anti-war films with Nazi propaganda under the common umbrella of "liberalism" and then includes gems like:

The Thomas Crown Affair 1968 R Supports the claim that capitalism causes crime.

American Pie 1999 R The first installment of a long-running film franchise primarily dealing with teenage sex and alcohol relies on jokes about sex and bodily functions, even treating date rape as "funny".

Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb 1964 NR Loosely based on Peter George's 1958 thriller novel Red Alert, this black comedy is against war, the military, and nuclear weaponry and tries to downplay the seriousness of Cold War-era fears of a nuclear apocalypse.

Independence Day: Resurgence 2016 R Although it is the sequel to the patriotic and to a certain extent conservative film Independence Day, it does not at all reference the concepts of patriotism, American exceptionalism, or even national sovereignty. Instead, most of the movie seems to support globalism, and Doctor Okun is revealed to be a homosexual despite such never being implied in the original film. Forced multicultural elements are present as well.

Milk
2008 R Sean Penn portrays openly homosexual politician Harvey Milk in this biography.

Legally Blonde
2001 PG-13 A pro-feminist musical that also promotes every aspect of the "valley girl" lifestyle. Smart people (such as those who go to law school) are described as "boring, ugly, serious people" by the father of Elle Woods (the film's protagonist). It also contains hidden demeaning remarks about dark-haired people. Spawned a sequel that, despite the patriotic-sounding title ("Red, White, and Blonde"), ultimately wasn't much better, which included a homosexual joke involving Elle Woods' pet chihuahua (despite the original film implying that said dog, who was male, was infatuated by the Taco Bell chihuahua mascot, a female).

Chicken Run 2000 G Produced by Jeffrey Katzenberg, this vegan propaganda film compares a chicken farm to the Holocaust.[80] The main villain of the movie is a capitalist who wants to make chicken pies. The film also promotes elements of feminism and anti-Americanism. On other hand the main villain of the movie is also a feminist as well as she called her husband's ancestors "poor worthless nothings"

The Bee Movie 2007 PG Its debatable whether or not its environmentalist or against it. It does show the destructiveness of environmentalism (i.e. butting into nature's problems in the name of helping her). The anti-human human sentiments in the movie turned out to be wrong, however, the humans are taking the honey made by the bees, similar to the welfare program of taking from those who worked for it. Others believe the movie promotes bestiality, and is just disguised as a family movie.

Fargo 1996 R A pregnant sheriff with traditional American family values solves an elaborate criminal embezzlement, kidnapping, and murder scheme. It remains debatable whether she is a feminist or feminine protagonist.

edit: jfc this is the dumbest film-watcher of all time

Dead Poets Society 1989 PG A worldly literature professor, John Keating (Robin Williams) is shown as inspiring and "open-minded". This contrasts with the conservative Christian boarding school where he teaches, apparently portrayed as conformist, oppressive, and materialistic. The film also appears to promote teen suicide, as one of the main characters is able to commit suicide without a negative word ever being uttered against his actions by any positive character.

But don't worry, there are still some good conservative films, like:

The Angry Birds Movie 2016 PG Based on the video game app of the same name, the film has its moments of rude humor but surprisingly has a strong Anti-Illegal Immigration message with the pigs practically representing Islamic migrants (the villain, King Mudbeard, even looks like a Middle Eastern man). The pigs trick the birds into accepting them to live on their island and once they have their respect, steal their eggs and blow up their island (part of the collateral damage is a statue of a bald eagle no less). Red, the only bird who was suspicious of them from the beginning, is first demonized by the community because of this, but later forgiven after he is proven right and decides to fight back and rescue their eggs from the pigs.

Hillary's America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party 2016 PG-13 Dinesh D'Souza analyzes Hillary Clinton's dark side and, as indicated by the title, the dark history of the Democrat Party. Donald Trump urged his supporters to see this documentary, and it is believed to have helped him win the 2016 presidential election. Like all of D'Souza's documentaries, this movie was absolutely despised by liberal-biased critics. In fact, the mainstream media hated this documentary so much that it became the worst-reviewed film on 3 different review aggregator websites. That is how crazy liberals go when their arguments are countered with facts, logic, and truth. The craziest part of all is how this documentary won 5 Golden Raspberry Awards because the leftists in Hollywood wanted revenge for Trump winning the election. D'Souza said he was honoured to be receiving so much hate because it is proof that he got his point across.

American History X 1998 R A Neo-Nazi (The Nazis were left-wing socialists even though the Left has tried denying it) overcomes his racism and anti-Semitism after being sent to jail for voluntary manslaughter and does everything in his power to prevent his brother from following the same path to destruction.

Spider-Man 2002 PG-13 Based on the flagship superhero of Marvel Comics, Peter Parker is a hard-working teenager, raised by his devout Aunt May and well-meaning Uncle Ben, who is bitten by a radioactive spider and gains spider-like abilities, such as climbing any surface and shooting webbing from his hands, which he vows to use to prevent crime after Uncle Ben’s murder. Spider-Man pokes fun at liberal entertainers and journalists, particularly Daily Bugle publisher J. Jonah Jameson, who goes out of his way to unfairly smear and slander Spider-Man and foolishly question his heroic deeds. For his relationship with classmate Mary Jane Watson, Peter chooses abstinence. Peter believes in individualism and capitalism as well: he rejects a job from a handout, claiming he would like to earn what he makes. This was one of the most profitable films ever made and had two sequels.

 It's a fecking satire on 80s capitalism, materialism and social life, and in the end (spoiler alert!) was a dream/vision.

American Psycho 2000 R Don't be fooled by the false patriotic title. It's the most Anti-American film you'll ever see because it attempts to pass a stockbroker off as a secret serial killer.

----
This was one of the worst displays of brainwashing and hatred I've witnessed. I presume in conservativeland it was love for Jesus on display.

Jesus Camp 2006 PG-13 This baseless attack on conservative Christianity later incited liberal vandalism of the Bible camp shown in the film.

For many of those "reviews" I had to wonder what madness made them interpret films like that.

Don't want to clog up the fire thread, but as usual it is being used by Nazis for recruitment, which is ironic

I really need to get off Twitter, right now my timeline is full of white supremacists trying to use this as a rallying cry while implying a cultural Marxist conspiracy, woke third-worldists competing with each other to see who can give less of a shit because colonialism, and Islamists celebrating it as punishment from God and a sign of the impending collapse of the West.

28 German tourists dead in a bus crash in Madeira. I swear that island is cursed lately, first the floods, then a giant tree fell during a celebration and killed over a dozen people, and now this.

Looks like Azores 20 years ago, where large-casualty tragedies kept happening. Plane crashed, landslide, floods... I know from experience that in these relatively small places these consecutive tragedies really take a toll on people's psyche.

Kill me

Water has gone punk.

With $1.6 million in fresh seed funding led by Science Inc., the cofounder and CEO Mike Cessario is ready to bring Liquid Death, his direct-to-consumer canned-water startup, to prime time. That's right: Despite the name, Liquid Death is nothing but good old-fashioned H2O, served in a tallboy can.
