Gianluigi Donnaruma

There isn't a single chance. But all I'm saying is, with no intended hyperbole, that if we get Gyokeres and Donnaruma we're guaranteed top 4. I am 100% convinced of that.

The source is rather reliable if I remember correctly too and if you remember at the start of the window Amorim said we need to be brave and we need to be ambitious

I feel like it's been a while since we were used in contract negotiations.

He's just had his first satisfying season since joining PSG. For the money involved, this looks like a really dangerous deal.

Last yr of his contract it seems. Hardly needs saying that he wound be a big upgrade, though I imagine his salary demands would be huge. If we can make it work then of course we should, but I would hate to prioritise a goalkeeper over a number 9 when there are so many steady-eddie goalkeepers in the world who could tide us over for a season or two till we had the budget to upgrade.

Some of the world class saves he pulled off in the CL games had me longing for a keeper with his level of shot stopping. Hope this deal isn't too unrealistic.

He would be ideal, but can't see it happening both for financial reasons as well as City being interested.

Hard work to convince him if City are involved.

This. Honestly, why would he leave the best team in the world, winning Champions Leagues and racking up trophies to join us, when we’re barely making top 4 most seasons? Feels like one of those situations where United’s name is just being thrown around to get a better paycheck.

Please be true. This is one keeper I’d love. Him and Diogo Costa should be our targets

They don't call him Dollarumma for nothing. I can't imagine what kind of pay packet he'd be after but I don't see how it would be affordable for us if we're not able to compete for the likes of Osimhen

He’s be a disaster here. He’s wildly overrated and would really struggle in the Prem.

Like Onana, we should have went for him when he was free. He’s going to cost a fecking bomb but he’s top 5 in the world and could become the best over the next year or two
Believe he is a free agent in 2026?

He's the best in the world at the moment for me. Probably has 10 years of top football left in him, especially when you consider how long the likes of Buffon and VdS played for.

We should've done if we were proactive but a lot of people were still convinced De Gea was the bollocks when he moved back in 2021.

No way this happens unless Onana get sold for 50m or something to Saudi. Just can't see how we would a) finance this and b) convince him.

Pipe dream, but then I was shocked we convinced Mbeumo and Cunha to come here over their other options. Stranger things have happened

Wed need to offer some feck off wages for him, which we might turn a blind eye to given his profile

He’s available on a free from July 2026 (Contract ends June 2026) he won’t be as expensive as you think

I think we're absolutely massive but I dont think we'll prize Donnaruma away from Pep and City given how the dynamics of the clubs have gone in the past 15 years.

That being said, we can offer him big wages and probably have room for it.

Care to explain yourself? Donnarumma is arguably the most in form keeper in the world. His CL run was brilliant. He’s been nothing but one of the best keeper in the world since Milan.

Sometimes I wonder about United fans. We could get linked to Pele and there would be those “not good enough for United or the Prem.”

He's very prone to flapping and mess up under pressure when aerially challenged

Ah yes. Leaving Paris, an oil club with unlimited money who also just won the CL, while being one of their best players, for a team aiming on top 6 in England makes sense.

And to be honest, despite considering him top 2 in the world, I wouldn't want him here. He would probably get a 400k contract per week at least. And to be fair, considering that we are paying players one quarter of his level (Shaw, Rashford) tons of money, it would actually feel deserved for him to get it.

But I would hope we are trying to be more logical with our contracts. If last year we were third or whatever and we were also challenging for CL, I would obviously give him that contact, because he is a player who turns a runner up to a champion. But we are not at that level now.

Best case scenario is he remains in PSG, we manage to get top 3 with Onana on goal, we have improved vastly throughout the year and we get him on free next year. But no team with Onana can be top 4 anyway.

This is true. 2 howlers in the 2-0 loss to arsenal if I'm not mistaken.

Still a beast of a GK though and walks in as arguably the best in the league form GW1.
