Gianluigi Donnaruma

I will literally shit in an airfryer and serve it to myself as a meal if this happens. No chance, more chance of Billy Meredith coming back from the dead to play for us.
This sounds like the “bet” of a man who frequently eats his own air-fried shits.

Perhaps now he's won the Champions League he'd feel he's achieved all he can in PSG and he wants a new challenge in a better league. Not saying that's the case or it would be with us if it was. But you never know what motivates people.

He’s be a disaster here. He’s wildly overrated and would really struggle in the Prem.

Where is the white text? He'd be Buffon MK II here. Has at least 10 years at the top level too. But unfortunately not gonna happen when you think realistically.

He’s easily the top keeper in the world on current form. An absolute rock for shot stopping, mentality and penalties, steps up in the right occasions and is a commanding presence. Old school keeper.

He does have a big weakness on crosses and in the air, his distribution is good but not world class but frankly it doesn’t matter when your as good as he is at the important bits.
Sorry but this is just wrong. Alisson is easily better and I'd take Courtois over him too.

What a summer this would be if we manage to land him, Mbeumo, Cunha and one of Osimhen or Gyökeres. Do we dare to dream?

I'm sure Donnaruma, after winning a CL, sat down in his home and went "I'm missing something in my life, maybe I should go to the 15th in the PL.."

It's your dream. No one can stop you. Chuck in Yamal too and Wirtz while we're at it.

This. Honestly, why would he leave the best team in the world, winning Champions Leagues and racking up trophies to join us, when we’re barely making top 4 most seasons? Feels like one of those situations where United’s name is just being thrown around to get a better paycheck.
Yeah definitely one that has no smoke

I'm going to take a very brave guess and say that Donnaruma is motivated very heavily by money.

Not getting my hopes up for a second. We will be stuck with third rate goalkeeping for years to come

I don’t think we can go for him. Not that I find fault in his profile. Just that financially we’re not in position to spend big for GK. We need to prioritize to build from the front line then midfield and defender first. Replacing and upgrading on Onana is a must, but it should be a cheaper signing, even stop gap at the moment. Not repeat the same mistake like when we signed Onana.

As much as would be awesome to have him here, this seem like a classic Team Raiola salary renegotiation tactic.

Noo, thank you!

Would be a Big Pete/VDS type signing for us…..it’s never going to happen though and I’m not going to bother getting my hopes up.

Don’t think we will get him, but while being poor for so long will deter some top players from signing. It will add to the allure of certain ones who have an ego and want to be a lynchpin of the team that took a club back to the pinnacle.

Probably would use us as leverage to get a new and better deal at psg

Donnaruma isn't that type
Team Raiola however would consider it but not to help, more like exploit any desperation.

I really have gard time believing he's aiming to leave PSG just after the season they've had and the team they have.

For the size of him he is fairly rubbish under a high ball and overall his distribution is poor, not great with the ball at his feet either.

Probably be an improvement on Onana, but that's become a pretty low bar.

If Real Madrid and City are also interested in him, how about we wait it out and hijack a free Courtois or Ederson instead?

More than a handful but yes. I seriously doubt anyone here who isn't a PSG fan would've watched every single game. Likewise with Allison and Liverpool, and those who consider him the best.
Can't argue with that

This just seems like your typical name dropping Man Utd amidst contract renewal situation. Only club I could see him leaving for is Madrid.

I don’t think it is negotiating tactics.
PSG want to reduce his salary from the high deal he got from his free transfer.
Donnarumma and his team also seems equally keen to maximize his career earnings and may be looking at doing another free transfer exit.

Inter and Juve seem like real possibilities which makes it seem like sporting goals arent higher than financial. There seems to be no loyalty towards his Milan career.

I dont find anything wrong with this, it’s quite refreshing. I just add context as to why this deal may gain traction this summer.

I'd bet he doesn't know what place we finished in the league.

I genuinely don’t think he would be suited for United in the PL. Hes rubbish in the air, and for someone his height he should be dominating. On top of it he’d want to be very well paid.

I don’t think he’s as bad in the air as he’s made out to be - he comes for things he has to right for and misses a lot. But that does have the effect of pushing back the attackers.

He’s an excellent keeper. But I think the biggest concern would be the total costs.

A complete package. Elite shot stopping, big game performances, commanding presence and leadership. Hes currently the best GK in the world. I dont see him joining Utd but even if theres a 1% chance, we should explore every possibility.
