Offer him like £180k with a clause in his contract that if he gets into the PL team of the year then his wages go up to what he is currently on. Gives him an incentive to do well and it's easier for us to justify his wages if he's the best keeper in the league.
This is exactly the type of contract PSG is offering but he wants more guaranteed money.

The one position that I'm not that bothered if the club break their wage structure tbh.
A genuinely world class player who will command the defense for years to come

This. Sometimes it's just good idea to pay what is needed. And if world class GK like Donnarumma comes available, it's that kind of situation. Offer you can't miss. Especially right now when we are likely to start season with Onana.

I think he’s a very good keeper and would be a huge presence in between the sticks, but unless the wages are sensible then it should be a non-starter. We shouldn’t pay 300k a week for him or anything close to that. We need to fix the age old issues around squad building and a lot of that starts with salaries.

Can anyone who actually watches PSG confirm whether this guy is world class or a hype job?

I remember he used to be a wonderkid back at Milan, but I couldn't give 2 shits about PSG, so no idea how he's got on.

Judging from the comments, he's either the best in the world, or a problem causing mercenary. Maybe both?

Very good shot stopper, but not great with his feet or commanding his area and dealing with high balls.

He's not happy with his incentive-driven €200k + €100k PW contract and wants a bigger base salary. PSG are therefore getting rid (in favour of the best keeper in Ligue 1 last season).

I'd love this signing but the wages surely make this a non-starter

Are we trying to do a Barcelona and have multiple keepers on big money?

In our financial situation, it has to be one in, one out, in a possition where only one player can play at a time.

I don't see us being able to offload Onana.

Give Sancho’s wages to him. He’ll be absolutely worth it i tell you. It may sound strange saying this as he’s a goalkeeper but he will win us games alone

Massive wages, seems a bit of a drama queen, flaps at crosses, questionable motivation after having already won everything there is to win a club level and the best team in the game are looking to get rid.

What could go wrong?

Agree. Feels like what we were doing when buying Varane and Casemiro. They came to top up their pensions when Real Madrid wanted shut of them.

In some ways it might be a bigger risk. While I'm sure they were mainly coming here for the big final payday, Varane's body just let him down and Casemiro got old. They're both model pros and I don't think their commitment could be questioned. I don't quite get that impression from Donnarumma.

This guy tweeted 1000 times during Sancho saga and most are incorrect.
It's not just him. Ducker mentioned yesterday that Utd expect to make move for Donnarumma once the Chevalier signing is done.

I think he will probably try to leave on a free next summer. Going into this season:

Never is 39 (Bayern)

Courtios is 33 (Madrid)

Sommer is 36 (Inter)

Ter Stegen is 33 (Barcelona)

Di Gregorio is 28 (juventus)

Then there's a chance Ederson (City) and Allison Liverpool) replacements don't pan out and they could be in the market for a experienced keeper next summer. Same can be said for juventus and Barcelona. Can never rule Chelsea in any discussion. So there could be more than a few options for him next summer.

Therefore I think if it's possible and financially feasible this summer maybe our best chance to get a World Class keeper back in our squad.
Is Alisson going anywhere?

Back to Brazil end of this season I thought. That's why they bought maradashvalli. He's too good for a no2 role, other than a transition year.
Not saying things can't change, but he's said he wants to see out his contract which expires in 2027.

Really hope there is some truth to this. I understand the concerns some may have, but to me nothing is more concerning than having Onana in goal for another season.

He would be amazing signing but from all possible rumours this must be biggest bs of all.
We can't afford fee, we can't afford wage and why on earth he would leave PSG?

Again, he would be absolutely amazing signing but i can't see how this is even possible.
Next year when he will be free agent and we will be back in CL....well, that is another story.

All of these flaws, yet going into another season with Onana would still be much much worse.

No more mega wages. We can't make that mistake again, regardless of who the player is.

Or that he's one of the best goalkeepers in the world and is a big reason why Italy and PSG have won trophies in the past few years.

This low key reminds me our pursuit of Manuel Neuer.

Every season there would be wild reports we're getting him and every year they'd disappear like tears in the rain.

The flapping at crosses and lack of box command are my two biggest concerns with him, surely he needs to be working on those things or will become a target for opposition attackers.

Seeing as PSG beat Villa and Arsenal in CL knockout stages and Donnarumma was immense in both games, with everything that was thrown at him. I wouldn't worry about him in PL.

Was incredible against the Scouse too last season if I remember correctly. Caught every ball that came flying into his box too

Yeah let's see if anyone reliable other than Ducker actually gets on this, what's the actual asking price for him. We would also have to get very creative with the wages to meet his demands too.

I've heard people say he's got a bit better at them this season (while still not being great). But it's always baffled me that a keeper as massive as he is is generally so poor with the ball in the air.

He was shite for Elliott's goal in the first leg. Went right through him.

Luxury signing. Don't waste money on the keeper situation, it won't be what makes or breaks our season. Oh and underperforms his PSxG too. This would take me back to Woodward days if we actually went in for the guy.

It's the most important position in the whole team. Our current keeper could hardly be any worse.

Explain your thinking behind that mindset
