Duncan Castles on his podcast said Donnarumma is intent on running his contract down. PSG don't want him leaving on a free

City, Chelsea and Utd are the most interest in him. City despite them signing Trafford last week are willing to let Ederson leave who has 12 months left on his contract. Not sure if Trafford is ready to be No1.

Can we sign Ederson instead then?

He’d cost us a fortune in wages, has been trending downwards for a few seasons and would allow our rivals plenty of ammunition for “bantz”; he’s the perfect signing for United! Get it done.
Yes he would cost a fortune in wages, however not a chance whatsoever that he is trending downwards. The fact you are suggesting that when the guy is a current European champion is baffling

He's talking about Ederson.

Ah yes in that case he's not the same keeper he was
Tbh, as an actual goalkeeper, I don’t think he’s ever been truly world class, it’s just that he’s almost certainly the best there’s ever been with the ball at his feet, which for a Pep side with 75% possession was absolutely ideal.

Does seem to have dropped off since they won the treble though.

Yeah a definite drop off since the treble

He is a bit like Valdes in that regard. Great with the ball at his feet but never the best at the other stuff.

He's one of the best shop-stoppers around... something people used to praise DDG for (even when he wasn't!). Not sure on his command of the area, communication or coming for crosses as those aren't a thing in Europe any more...

Some goalkeepers in the world can win you three points by themselves, he falls into that category and we are going to need as many match winners as possible.
Imagine Bruno, Mbeumo and Cunha on pens while havine Donner in the goal. We would never lose penalties. Also we'd up our number of leaders in the team once again. After Sesko this could get us closer to a great cup run and strong top4 finish.

Such a contrast if we just hope Onana will have a better season, or we sign unproven Belgian keeper from small league to save our ass. Players would get such a boost mentally. Would be another statement signing.

Weird anyway theat he'd be in the market. PSG probably wants Chevalier to put more pressure on him, so even better performances come.

Agreement between Lille and PSG for the transfer of Lucas Chevalier for a fee over €40M without addons.

Hopefully PSG is willing to sell Donna now for cheap as he is in last year of his contract.

After they made the first offer for Chevalier, l'equipe reported that, unless a decent offer comes, PSG were willing to play the season with both GKs, with Donnarumma probably starting at the beginning and a shift to Chevalier midway through. They got Donnarumma on a free so they're not really bothered if they keep him and let him walk next summer.

~£35m for a number 2? Hardly. Welcome Donnarumma. Theatre of Dreams awaits.

Both goalkeepers with their credentials would not like to sit on the bench one way or the other, are they? Surely Donnarumma is looking at leaving?

Wages would be the issue, he would make bank again walking for free again.

But I'm so ready for us to do it.

In reality, this will create problem for the team. Both would like to start. One of them will be very unhappy and create negative influence in the team. I believe Donna will leave. Also, he is on very high wages.

We won't buy Donnaruma unless he lowers his wage demands. Considering his agent, I really think this won't happen.

What wages is he asking for? Would you guys take him on £200k a week?

Better than Manuel ? Big call that.

No way we have him and Onana, and can't see us shifting Onana this window. Also happy to keep Onana if it means Baleba is more inclined to join.

We do need a backup keeper with AFCON coming up though.

He wanted to leave as a free agent next year and presumably get a big signing on bonus, but PSG won't start him with a year left on his contract, so gonna be an interesting deadline window with him. He isn't going to get all that with a transfer fee also, but won't want to spend a year on the bench.

He will ask for astronomical wages (He will surely want 300K minimum, if not in the region of 500k). We are trying to get rid of high earners. So, I really don't think he will end up here. Wouldn't surprise me if he moves to Saudi.

He's reportedly on over £200k a week now. I'm guessing he'd want more like £300k a week with his + PSG's recent success and the fact it could be a free transfer. I really don't think he's a guy we should be pursuing..... Fix the outfield first IMO.

No we need a replacement for Onana. I agree he’s going to be very difficult to shift - but hopefully his agent will do what agents should do and find him a new club. If he’s sitting on the bench for the next 6/12 months. So be it.

Why would he be available on a free? He has a year left on his contract.

Have PSG still not confirmed their new keeper? Until then we have no shot but once that deal is done then we need to go all out and get him here.

I haven’t seen the whole thread but has a tier A journalist linked us to him ? We seem to be doing things sequentially - one deal at a time so this doesn’t sound real to me.
