Donnaruma isn't that type
Team Raiola however would consider it but not to help, more like exploit any desperation.
Apart from the boyhood, home town fan turned player. Does such a 'type' exist? Seen it written a few times are there examples of top top players that moved for that reason.

I really have gard time believing he's aiming to leave PSG just after the season they've had and the team they have.
Not if he thinks he has already achieved everything with that club and there is nothing more to aim for.

Well he had a chance to stay for the renaissance of AC Milan but dragged it out and left for free finally.
Think he is all about maxing a salary for him and his agent.

I don't think that he will have grown any altruistic tendencies towards making us great again and has a longing for such a project.
I guess there are a few players that stayed a long time despite not winning much and were loyal, Kane notably. Bruno is one such as evident of the Saudi declined offer. Off the top of my head.

City have just signed James Trafford?
The article is about PSG approaching Lille for Chevalier. It obviously questions Donnarumma's future and mentions recent interest from both Manchester clubs, but absolutely nothing new, once again aggregators jumping the gun for clicks.
But with that being said, it probably means Donnarumma is going to be available but his wages demands are very high.

Donnaruma is worth around 40 million euros. I don't think we'll have enough money to buy a striker and an expensive goalkeeper. Still, he's only 26 and he could a long term goalkeeper for Man Utd for the next decade or so.

Ahh thanks. Makes sense. City is a closed door.

Could be a free hit for United actually if they can shift Onana.

Would be a top signing and great age. Not sure any other club needs a new number one either so he’ll have limited options..

PSG seems to be willing to shift Donnarumma because they dont want to match his wage demands. He has one year left and they dont want to give him the huge guaranteed salary that he's asking, they now only give "lower" base wages but with bigger bonuses like the recent extensions signed by Vitinha, Hakimi and Mendes.

He would be a top signing indeed, but I think the striker position is more urgent than a new GK. Can we really afford to buy someone like Watkins plus Donnaruma? I don't think so. The most realistic scenario is us buying a cheap GK and another striker, or just us being stuck with Onana (the worst possible scenario).

If we could have only one of either Watkins or Donnaruma though I’d pick Donnaruma.

Get the number 9 next window and go with what we’ve got.

And be stuck with Hojlund and Zirkzee? We all agreed that we needed a new top striker. You can find a cheap goalkeeper that is reliable and better than Onana, but the with strikers that's impossible. The striker market is already pretty bad and we can't afford to be stuck with Hojlund for one more year.

So he's worth as much as Villa want for Emi Martinez

If we end having to choose between a keeper and a striker, I'd go with Donnarumma easily. Could be a key part of the teams spine for the long term.

You dont get his type of caliber of keeper available often and he's likely not even in his real prime yet as a keeper still being just 26.

I just wonder if he'd ever be willing to trade the CL winners for us in our current state. I guess Di Maria kind of did that but that feels like a lifetime ago

Absolutely agree

Yeah. I think Mbuemo, Cunha, Bruno and Amad would get us by. I have a feeling Zirkzee has a surprise for people too.

Donnaruma would be a great upgrade.

The thing is, if you dont get a GK, it'll be Onana all season no matter what. If you dont buy a striker you have other options, you have players like Bruno, Amad or Mount who can play 10 and have Mbeumo play the 9 like he did in France.

Zirkzee too who I think was coming good last season before his injury v Newcastle

The number crunching for GD especially his salary will be more than enough reason for Ineos to brief that we are not interested in a deal, however, I would love to be proven wrong.

Yea Zirkzee too and Obi seems to be staying (?) so it probably means Amorim counts on him (personally I'd love to see Bruno as a false 9 experiment but it's unlikely).
It's just my personal opinion but between GK and ST given your current situation, I'd go with a GK 100%, you've witnessed first hand how many points a bad GK can cost you. With the ST position you can get creative like PSG did with Dembélé or Arsenal with Merino.
