Really good for him. Hope he gets proper time and does well. I really want our class of 92 lads to do well and come to manage here one day.

Lets win this freakin' China Cup!

Most likely the second best cup, after FA one.

Hope this can be a stepping stone for him but Chris Coleman did wonders with Wales and the best job he could get after it was... Championship strugglers Sunderland.

Because the alternative candidates comprised of Craig Bellamy, John Hartson, Osian Roberts and Mark Bowen. I don’t even know who the latter two are.

Think it's an horrendous appointment. No experience and has gotten the job as a wales legend. Which would be fine but for the fact that Welsh fans aren't especially keen on him

Worse still Wales are quite shit but have massively overperformed so expectations will be unrealistically high

Don't get why he wanted a national team job, unless he does fantastic there, it is difficult to see him getting even a semi-decent job in EPL.

Good luck to him though, one of my favorite players ever, so hoping all goes well.

I should have applied, clearly being Welsh was a main factor.
