Giorgio Scalvini

Had surgery on his shoulder and ACL and doesn't seem to have had any ongoing issues with them. 2 years left on his deal. Atalanta are trying to buy Todibo to replace him, so he's going to move if someone meets their sale fee of around 45 million euros. As far as I'm aware he wants to play in the Premier League and isn't engaging in contract renewal talks.

I’ve mentioned him repeatedly on here for about two years I think. I’d love him here, tall, fast, strong, an actual centre back to do centre back things.

The worry is his injuries, but he's extremely highly rated.

The other concern is whether Atalanta would want to do more business with United after that Ederson situation.
I feel like if the money is right then the Ederson issues won’t really matter.

Martinez replacement?

He's right footed.

He has a bizarrely low ground duel % of 30.6 which leads to a 2 percentile but I'm sure that can be fixed, as his duels won percentile is 73. If he picks his battles a bit better so hes more likely to win them that 73 goes down a bit, but shouldnt be too low. The real issue Scalvini might have is that Atalanta play with 3 at the back weekly and here we'd be playing 2. So he'd have to adjust. But hes a good tall young defender who can play a bit as well as defend

Pretty sure Chelsea were linked with this guy a month or so ago, before the WC. Noise died down after a while.

Again being linked to him, usurping Newcastle.

I'd rather sign Diomande (Forest quoted 35+5 which I'd snap their hand off for) as he has a better physical profile for the Premier League than Scalvini.

But if it's like... a choice between Scalvini and Permacrock De Ligt or Maguire then it's no contest. For the right price.
