Obertans #1 fan.
Why though? it's not the club's fault is it.

Manchester United are a separate entity from who owns them.

Do you not support them now because the Glazers are cnuts too?
I get how you feel mate, but keep in mind he couldn’t go to the country of the owners and be allowed to be publicly in a relationship. Any money given to the club would further this kind of persecution. You’ve got to understand how upsetting this must be?

Say the Qatari's do bid or already have, what's to say we would even hear about it tonight. Might take a few days to come out.

I wouldn't pay much attention to this 10pm deadline. Really means nothing to us.

City are defined by their owners. This club stands on it’s own.
This is a bit naive. We're talking about a full takeover. The sheikhs aren't going to buy a plaything just for it to "run itself". It will be their agendas, their branding, everything decided by them.

This thread is insane. Just random gibberish and ramblings that no one is understanding. Is this a social experiment?
Agree, It's one inappropriate comment after another. And the title of the thread even says "post respectfully".

Count me in being gay. If they were to buy it I would go so far as to hope the club falls into complete footballing irrelevance.
And just like that you'll end the oppression of homosexuals in the Middle East. Nobel peace prize is on the way.

Of course it must be difficult, but you aren't celebrating Qatar, and neither will we.

When Manchester United win it's because of ETH, the 11 on the pitch and the rest on the bench. They are who we spend our time and money to support.

I don't celebrate the Glazers now and I won't celebrate the Qataris or Radcliffe/whoever else may get it.

Really sorry that you are in this position mate. I’m genuinely heartbroken for you. I will be stopping supporting the club in any way in solidarity.
Thank you. Like you say - It's not something that's particularly joyful. I've supported since the club since I can remember. 25 years.

Why though? it's not the club's fault is it.

The club will be here long after Qatar when they eventually get bored too.
I don't blame the club. But I won't go out of my way to support or promote something they will be purchasing partly to promote their interests..

Yes that makes me a hypocrite with the amount of oil they produce I likely use etc etc. But I don't go and cheer on Aramco, I buy it because I need it to live.

As for the Glazers, I don't like them, don't support the financial instrument they used to take over the club. But there are levels, and this is a level I won't cross.

If you don't understand the conflict people have you may just not understand the game.

Your delight in poking people who have a genuine concern is pretty vile.

You can have a different opinion but revelling in a fellow fan's discomfort is not a great look.
It’s a weird thing to witness - essentially they’re mocking those who have a feeling for the ‘heart & soul’ of the club…for its history and heritage in other words. And this kind of ownership model conflicts with that heritage.

If Qatar or Saudi Arabia end up owning the club I don’t think that many will actually walk away. It’s just that their support won’t have the same meaning as before…and obviously they’d rather that doesn’t happen.

Jesus Christ, how is that your reaction? Unfortunately the Qataris almost certainly will take over but seeing the disappointment of arseholes who have been doing their bidding for them before they've even bought the club would be great.

Yeah, on a few levels bit it's not a choice for lots of people. I have to drive but I got my oil central heating replaced.

Why do people struggle when other people give a shit?
If I weren't a socialist I'd be loaded. Seriously I love the passion, if anyone wants to walk away...more power to their elbow.

I have no idea either, yet.

It's surreal that they would openly mock people who have any heartfelt conflict.

Personally think all of that went out of the window years ago with the massive increase of commercialization in football that the Premier League brought. I think it's a bit rich to suggest United is above all of this. United are a brand now more than a football club.

Its not about people giving a shit or not, its the lengths that certain posters are going to decry anyone who isnt 100% against a ME takeover but wilfully ignore other ME influences/exports that are already consumed on a daily basis.

My teenagers do occasionally (probably more than occassinnally) wish I was a barrister and not a hairy communist alright!

They'll learn.

I haven't seen that, the lady two pages haven't been that. The reports we get aren't that. I've just come in to this thread and the post I quoted was cold and sneering at best.

It’s not that, there’s a lot of fans who have accepted the shitty situation already who are being accused of wanting to kill gays or support Slave Labour.
Imo if you’re shouting at fans who have reached the point sooner than you have if you don’t walk away then it’s all uncalled for.

Yes but I'm sure if the States wanted to buy us, it'd have a strong reaction too. Although I'm not sure a US WC would have a similar reaction to Qatar's.

Don't really care who the owners are but it definitely won't be the same on the football pitch there will always be an asterisk any time success is achieved, bad timing too because its not unfounded to say EtH would have won the league under the Glazers.
If Newcastle beat us next Sunday, lets see how they give a feck about their Asterisk!

All this talk of Asterisks is nonsense. Do the spanish clubs get Asterisks for financially dominating the 00/10's?

Do City fans really feel hollow for winning their first PL + many more since? I don't think if you gave them a choice they'd go back to pre take over.

Are you seriously arguing the post I quoted wasn't sneering or mocking a gay fan who said he'd walk away?
