Golf 2026

I see Brooks has quit the good ship LIV

Take a year off for the required penalty and come back to PGA season after. I'd not be surprised if Rahm did the same after his contract ended.

And Mito Pereira retires at 30 from LIV. Was hyped as next big thing. Brutal.

LIV is dead. It’ll eventually turn into a nothing series. None of the big guys will hang around. They got their pay day and will now ride off into the sunset
Was it ever really not dead? It was always doomed from the start.

Great stuff from Rory here:

Interesting about Bradley saying he should have intervened when McIlroy was getting all the abuse during the Ryder cup, but they seemed on good terms during the TGL event last night (they’re on the same team).

Just turned the TGL event on only to be confronted by Billy Horschel kissing a West Ham badge.

Brooks is back and a door is opened for bryson rahm cam smith. Hatton could be stranded

Yeah, Brooks Koepka’s form has been poor for a while now so I think he might struggle back on tour.

At least Hatton has the opportunity to gain ranking points from the DP World Tour and Majors, he’s in a better position than John Rahm for example.

Another week, another Scheffler win. He’s approaching Nicklaus and Woods type of dominance in a very competitive era.

It's so impressive. He'll have to get another major and catch Rory and Brooks before any "Best since Tiger" arguments are settled though.

I think he will though. I think he'll add another 2 majors over the next two years. How crazy would it be to do the Grand Slam a year after Rory.

Patrick Reed coming back to pga as well. I also think rahm would come back if Hatton could aswell

Who is gonna be the one left holding LIV together I reckon it could be Rahm there is no way they allowed his contract to give him a way back to the PGA without breaking terms of contract and their lawyers will be better and their pockets deeper

Yeah I bet all those other PGA Tour players are ecstatic to see Reed join again... I assume he has to play his way back in since he doesn't have an exemption anymore.

He can play on past champion status from August. He'll play the European Tour until then

Are you sure? I thought past champion status only comes into effect if a player holds a PGA Tour membership, which he can't get before 2027. It seems he'll be eligible for events as a non-member from late August.

Has Bryson signed his contract yet? Does he want to be the last man standing?

If LIV doesn't get OWGR, it may as well fold.

Sorry, you're right. He's said he's looking for that to be reinstated to play has a past champion. But he's eligible to play as a non-member from August 2026 anyway and he won't be short of sponsor invites I'd imagine.

Brilliant record breaking win for Rose at the equally brilliant Torrey Pines yesterday. Keep an eye out for him at the Master and the Open I reckon, he’s still got a major title in him.

This is great viewing this week, lots in with a chance with 4 holes left

Anthony Kim winning is an absolutely incredible story.

Penge leading at the great Riviera Country Club, it would do his confidence if he can get like a top 5 finish. He’s got the type of game that could well make a name for himself on the PGA tour, he packs some firepower.

This Jacob Bridgeman seems a bit good, doesn't he? Ok, nervy finish yesterday but his Saturday round was insane.

Poor Lowry. These last two holes have been painful.
